  • I wanted to make a video with my brother, so I laid down a 12 string line and had him cover the Lennon part on his '64 Gibson Firebird.

    You nailed John's solo.

Lovely cover! I hope you're having a joyful day, dude, and also fabulous guitar.

Thanks! The Rick is a 1990 360/12V64. As of this video, it still had the original Hi Gain toaster pickups, but if you want to hear the new Lo Gain toasters in action, please watch my "I Should Have Known Better" video. The vintage "jangle" is back!
Also, the top guitar ("You Can't Do That") is my brother playing his 1964 Gibson Firebird. It was the closest sound to Lennon's Capri that we had on hand.
      Thanks again!

Thanks for posting. This is one of my favorite Fab Four songs. But, I can't tell if I'm hearing your guitars or those of The Beatles...sounds like more of The Beatles to me. Maybe put your guitars in the left speaker and The Fab's on the right or just take The Beatles out all together so we can just hear your cover. Peace, Sal 💪🏻🎸

Actually, I shoot everything on my iPhone and iMovie, so I unfortunately don't know how to separate the channels as you had suggested (Sorry, but I'm 75 years old, therefore lo-tech!!). All I can offer as "evidence" is: after the lead break, my brother (Gibson Firebird) visibly missed the D chord after the staccato chord series ("... you talkin' that way - they'll laugh in my face... "), and you don't hear John's D chord underneath either (as I had attempted to knock back the original track levels so as to hear our guitars better). I left my brother's mistake in to illustrate just the point you had made. Thanks for your kind remarks!
