    I use the exact same valve to ferment apple juice ciders in keg under pressure, and serve straight from the keg. Works great!

    Informative, thank you. I am just going to venture into pressurised fermentation and am waiting for that kit to arrive. I am going to use a pressure barrel (King Keg type thing) because I have a couple spare. I intend to keep the S30 Valve in the barrel cap and add the corney thingy connection pillar and your video has eased some of my concerns regarding this. Thank you.

    Hey mate do you feed the output of the spunding valve into a glass of water/sanitizer during ferment or is it ok just into atmosphere? Wasn't sure if it would let air in without the out line into something. Cheers

    Excellent thanks mate! So when you were transferring from fermentor to keg, were you injecting CO2 - from the CO2 bottle? If so, doesn't that waste your CO2? Thanks

    Great info mate, learnt a lot over the last couple of years from your vids. Reckon you could do a quick one on gas in-line quick disconnects, (not the post types)? I'd pay but you can see how poor I am, I make homebrew ;-). One tip, reinforce that rack in your fridge the fermenter is sitting on, prop it up with a bit of 2 x 4 !!!

    If you've used the old common spunding valves, especially the ones with the better black control knob that I currently use.
    The cheap ones were useless but the black knob ones seem to work fairly well.
    I'd love to know if you think these are less or more easily controllable and which one you prefer.
    I just use cornies for pressure fermenting.
    Thanks for the vid.

    Good video, I brought the Kegland set with bow tie and gauge, before the Fermzilla V2 comes out in NZ. Can I ask you about the Kegland 2200w elements? You mentioned the new improved ones in one of your other videos are they good and do they last? I want to convert my system to electric and looking at buying 2 of them 👍🍺.

    Great video mate - really well explained and no bullshit! Thanks! Quick question - how much pressure did you put in your keg prior to transfer?

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  4 года назад

      Its not a set pressure I use all the time, its a rough thing, usually between 4 and 10 psi. I havent worked it out yet but there comes a point where flows not going to get much faster anyway, and also you dont want things foaming up. Only thing you need to be careful of is making sure you connect the right posts etc if you have more pressure in the fermenter and accidentally connect the gas bottle to the beer line, you'll have beer in regulator, or at least the gas line. Cheers!

      The Home Brew Network oh I see. First time using the blowtie or any kind of spunding valve so I was a bit lost. So once fermentation starts and pressure begins to build, the blowtie will release any pressure needed to maintain the 9psi. Hope I’m correct in saying that?

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  4 года назад

      @@twt_figgy yes thats how it works, you will notice a drop in pressure as the co2 is absorbed into the beer, but once ferment starts it will build up again. Cheers!

      This was a bit of it
      Valpar Superflex hose has the same technology used in it's manufacture as our EVABarrier.
      The Valpar beer line is a product manufactured and sold by Micro Matic. Micro Matic have a fairly heafty margin on this type of beer line which is why it's so expensive. With that said it's not very complicated to make. It just required a duel extrusion machine and some custom made dies to make this beer line. So as a result we decided to partner with a large extruder and purchase new dies so we could make our own beer line to the same specification as the Valpar beer line.
      We purchase the bulk raw materials for the manufacture of this beer line and own our own dies for the extrusion process. We have also committed to fairly large production volumes because we supply the EVABarrier tubing in America and Europe. This combination of factors has enabled us to make a great high quality beer line that is similar to Valpar but much better value.
      Our EVABarrier tubing has the same flexibility as the Valpar tubing and is able to bend around same bending radius. Also from the perspective of oxygen and co2 transmission rate our EVABarrier tubing and the Valpar tubing have almost identical test results in that respect. I think a lot of home brewing customers do not really regard gas transmission rate as a factor but it really does make a difference especially if you leave the beer line line for 2 weeks or more. I think a lot of home brewers don't really appreciate how oxygen sensitive beer is.
