Some time ago, I lived in California for about 4 years, and was appalled at housing costs on the West coast. Had a friend that lived in a single-wide trailer in California that said she was lucky it was willed to her b/c it appraised at ~$300k+. That was a decade ago, and that would STILL buy you a large home in Texas with large front and back yards.
God help you if you want to be *trans* and live in that very affordable housing.
As an AMURICAN, I can say America is in semi-shambles. Like a vase that you dropped and broke, but the pieces are large enough to glue back together if you take your time.

So as far as the kamala isn't black thing, from what I've seen and heard that was never about denying she is actually black, it was simply pointing out how (according to them, i didnt follow politics back then so i wouldn't know) kamala always called herself an Indian woman and only started saying she was black in recent years.

As a French, I'd say that politics is like throwing a bucket of good and bad idea, in an ocean where good and bad will, rumbles. After so, we keep whatever comes back on the shore.
It doesn't have to be this way, but we've locked ourselves in bureaucracy, putting every idea on a slow train with many stops that might be its last depending on the whim or competency of one of the links.
And so we put our faith in political entities that have many ideas, good or bad, but we choose to bet on the good ones and disregard the bad ones, whether by simply not reading the actual political program and just focus on point discussed on TV or Internet Trends (sadly too many people) or by simply acknowledging that we can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs... This is neither false, nor it is always a proper way of thinking, after all, extreme political movement have found their ways through this conception, and even the mediatic scene conserve this extreme views in the popular imagination while politicians continues to use controversed political figures and slangs to insult publicly their peers as if this was the best example for the population. Moreover I would argue that a government that wreck havoc across Europe and turn its tail back as if nothing ever happened is pretty extreme in my opinion.
But what am I, an hypocrite ? Quick correction on Kamala. The question isn't whether she's black, she is as her father is of Black Caribbean heritage. The issue is that she basically tucked it away like she was ashamed of it until it became convenient. Personally I don't care, she's a political animal and one of the most cynical politicians I've seen after Hilary Clinton. But it's an important distinction to make that she's willing to do/be anything to further her goals. As far as im concerned, as someone disinterested in either candidate, I know what Trump is, he doesn't hide that. But I do not trust Kamala at all to do anything other than consolidate her own power and fear what freedoms she's willing to infringe upon to solidify it.

I personally 100% condemn Trump, but do understand why a lot of people either like him as an individual or his positions.
I just cannot forgive him for stoking the migrant fear throughout his 2016 campaign. That fear almost cost me my future while I was still in public school. My home is in pretty much the only solid-red area of my county and I am from the first generation of my family to be born in the country.
At the height of this irrational fear of immigration as a whole, people were marching outside over in the city with those big cardboard signs with things like "Deport Them All".
As a first generation hispanic American citizen also holding parental citizenship in Italy - according to some weird family line laws - I was in some deep dog water, and my teachers in high school also bought in to it. A math teacher artificially lowered my grades after the final to keep me from staying on the Honors Mathematics track, a F&CS teacher literally kicked me out of the room the first time I opened my mouth: I said "quiet down" to the two sports guys just jabbering during class.
I had more than 100% in the standard math (one that was 2 levels higher than my grade) the next year, but due to "recent policy changes", I was not even allowed to re-enter the Honors track consideration. The only two non-white honors students at my graduation were Asian transfer students.

Again, while yes a bit exaggerated, I think calling "in shambles" a nation that has been in a state of war with other nations for most of its history, a nation that has hold a significant part of its population in bondage for the first quarter of so of its existence and then denied them proper rights for the second and third quarter, that has suffered and still suffers from political, criminal and social violence in a higher proportion than most others western nations, which citizens are uncommonly ignorant of the world out of their own borders, etc., etc. Isn't that far from reality.

My generation is never going to be able to afford a good home and family. Houses are over 400k on average. 4 years ago they were under 300k

Donald Trump never took his salary while in office as president. In 1999 a homeless african american woman was living in a supply closet or extra room in Trump Tower (i dont remember explicitly which it was) and when his staff came to him asking him what he "wanted to do with her" he said and I quote "there's nothing to be done because she's staying here" I found that story personally inspiring.
