    Dr Subbu was wise at the end to suggest we should not look at messengers and make our minds . Truly excellent comment !

    Awesome discussion. Always love sessions where the SoldOut Economist (and servant of Gandhi family) is countered with facts & numbers by his juniors. I guess he still harbours hatred as he was Fired from his job as CEO of central bank of india (RBI). Its common for him to be humiliated on a weekly basis. We (Indians) look forward to such entertaining sessions.
    KVS is the man of this hour as well as the once who is on right track (in his arguments). He is the man that Walks his Talk and i will bet all my money on his predictions

    Dr. Subbu is just awesome. He is exaclty who should be always present to counter Raghuram Rajan's agenda against the Indian Govt.

    This man Raghuram Rajan.. his body language was quite a give away. He just could not stand his panelist’s talk. Was sitting in permanent “headache” with head down for almost the 20 minutes or so. He is so closed.
    awful..

    India's infrastructure development is going to contribute a lot towards growth in manufacturing which in turn will result in more job creation.Yes emphasis should be given on education development through research based learning

    I can understand why Mr Rajan is a successful academic.....it's obvious that he likes to preach from the pulpit. It must be frustrating going against an expert like himself, but one who has shepherded solutions to the enormous problems of a Democratic nation of 1.4 billion people of enormous and complex diversities. One may need AI and not Mr Rajan's structured macro or microeconomics. Besides, Mr Rajan doesn't appear to be stunted in any abilities, growing up in a poor country.....I wonder why. Elite privilege?

      not really... Dr. Rajan kept interrupting several times - maybe he was bitter or maybe he felt he felt he can interrupt his mentee at will... so much for a person who speaks about 'tolerance' :)

    A person of Dr Raghuram Rajan stature should not form a opinion just on what he heard only from Karan Thapar side without fact checking and could have avoided that comment. Though he was a mentor, his body language could have been better. As Subbi said that the fact certainty lies in between.

    I love the field economics where there are disagreements between two great economists of india and world. Even though they both are related in some ways. I think this is how progress in a field like economics and physics happens where there are disagreements between two people on their respective theories. Would love to see more on that

    Whenever you see a debate between equally accomplished people debating about India, one who is passionate and the other who is prejudiced, a lot more sensible data analysis and logical arguments come from someone passionate while the other just lazily responds. That makes one mediocre and the other pursuing excellence. Raghuram Rajan has fallen into an abysmal ditch, mortgaging his intelligence to support the absolutely mediocre entities and parties in India who, in addition, hate India succeeding as their mediocrity gets exposed. Meanwhile, KVS has gone about his role with a positive approach to solving problems and seeing the glass half full. In addition, thanks to his enthusiasm and positivity, he has a good idea about the nature and definition of that which is empty, whereby they can be taken up and resolved. I feel Raghuram Rajan must not be touched by a bargepole by any entity involved seriously in India's growth interest as that would only be damaging for India retarding its progress.

    Sad to see that an economist of RR's stature reduce this great economic discussion into a political one. Very obvious that he has his biases and he gets triggered. He could have avoided name taking & keep this discussion an economic one.

    India is a country of sluggish growth always while eurozone and other countries like US got the well queched liberalization a great eye opener to all the places but the India and few of the neighbourhood got their helm at low end but started.Its an agro based country and has proportionate skill to the demography.The demand supply generated GST is really a fantastic strategy to grow but the demography should be towards the agriculture not to the service sector at large.Thus inspite of the inconsiderable amount of money people will be able to buy their natural buying power capacitance.The manufactire will be there with less in the terms of manufactiring because of mind set different than China.Thus the cloud of India will be beside the cloud of its neighbours for long.Thank you.

    RR is actually losing his importance by giving biased opinions,he should rather present a neutral view as a renowned economist, the role of an academician should not be judgemental or critical about the functioning of a particular government

    I was counting how many times Dr. Rajan (congress supporter) was interrupting Dr. Subbu (IMF, so called govt nominee). And Dr. Rajan is the one talking about free speech and tolerance - when he can't even tolerate an argument that counters his narrative. I rest my case! audience can decide who is being intolerant!

    We Indians are loath to any form of criticism. This is the greatest impediment to our growth. We are a nation of sycophants. In the case of the current dispensation that is in power in India, critics have unpleasant consequences. Take the case of Father Stan Swamy, a Catholic Jesuit Priest a prominent human rights activist who died while in custody of the Indian state on July 5, 2021. The horrific crimes against our Muslim brothers is a crime against humanity.

    1:11:30 Dr. Rajan you are absolutely part of the opposition - don't be embarrassed now that Rahul makes stupid announcements. You walked with Rahul gandhi in his Bharat Thodo Yatra, Adviced the DMK which is the opposition, sit and dine with the likes of Karan who was paid by congress, who's aunt was the official historian of the Congress years, and here Dr. Rajan is sitting there spitting venom instead of making objective arguments.

      So according to you, KV subramanian is supporter of BJP but that's not the best way to look at the world of academicians. They criticize policies based on data points. Tomorrow if KV subramanian gives a statement against current government policy, it wouldn't mean he became an opposition.....

    • @samyvik2888
      @samyvik2888 4 месяца назад

      @@nitinkawatra5065 what are you saying? what part of my comment says anything about KVSubbu? Raghuram said he is not the opposition - but he is ofcourse in bed with the opposition by doing what he does. He also criticizes - as an academician - but that doesn't still change that he is part of the oppositiion. Even subaraminan swamy criticizes BJP, but he is not part of the opposition. But Raghuram rajan is part of congress inner circles - he is not choosing to distance himself because Rahul made stupid statements about wealth distribution

  • @samyvik2888
    @samyvik2888 4 месяца назад +1

    Dr. Rajan is secretly hoping to become a PM via the Manmohan singh path if Congress won. he is just sad and bitter that Congress is not winning. his claims that BJP doesn't give Karan Thapar interviews are debatable. Has Karan or Ravish interviewed Rahul or Sonia or Priyanka (ever??). There are many who don't care to be in his interviews - he is just not that important or even attract the right audience.
