I'm not understanding as to why people are complaining because she donated $30k. I highly doubt that this will be here last time ever making a donation to a charity! $30k is definitely a lot of money and can do a lot of good!! There are parents out there working hard to make ends meet and stretch a $1 out of $0.10. No matter how big or how small every little bit helps!

I don't think she does it to show off, she doesn't need to. She is setting an example to other rich people to do something with their money.We need more people like this and less selfish rich guys where money and people are just numbers.
You may won't believe it, but there are more rich people, who did this but they don't need the fame of murica tv or youtube to do stuff like that, they spend a lot of there own money and stay anonym.

This series was wonderful to watch I was homeless living on skid row with my daughter who unfortunately I had to give up to foster care so she could have a place to lay her head safely and I didn't have to worry I still am trying to get her back I got a job, a place to live, and going to school part-time. So I feel for these human beings not everyone that's homeless are on drugs, or alcoholics, some people have unfortunate events like losing their jobs, loss of a family member or home, it's sad how we are judged for our predicament or the way we look and I still include myself in it due to me being apart f it so long am I ashamed absolutely not nor am I embarrassed to say it because homelessness can happen to anyone most people in the U.S are just one paycheck away from that experience. I'm glad that there are people out here that really care and that makes me happy!!!!! I now try to help the homeless and listen to their stories and do what I can for them it made me who I am today a human being with a heart!!!!!!!
And having a heart, my friend, is what counts most in this world. I wish you all the best with your daughter.

people calling her names for not donating more, are you fucking serious? she donated $30,000 for fuck sake. Generosity isn't proportionate to the amount of money you make. Kindness is kindness, giving is giving. I just hope she went back to visit and didn't forget about it as soon as she got home.

My Mom has done very well for herself and never once gave 30k to ANYONE! I think this lady is an angel for what she has done, maybe she is a millionaire but she is 100% self made. She knows the value of money because she worked her ass off to make a lot of it and her giving 30,000 shows how much she really cares. To anyone who has actually written a 30,000 check to charity this is not for you, only the ignorant people who say "30k isnt that much money to a rich person"
I wish more rich people would take even more tax write offs and help.. If I ever get there I am gonna dedicate my life to changing lives for the better.
As much as that makes me smile. that's what alot of people say, and never end up doing. You're alot better off the way you are. Money corrupts people and blinds them of real justice. You are part of the common folk and know how it feels.
Once you eliminate that it does'nt matter what you say afterwards. Your money will always speak on your behalf and your words mean nothing to anyone anymore to everyone under you.

This was such a touching story and very amazing of her to give them any donation, let alone $30,000! **in tears** People who criticize something like this are really losers with NOTHING else better to do.
If you suffered a terrible childhood, you know the profound impact on you. A child, so hopeless, not knowing what to do, totally left behind. Don't treat kids like that please.
It might be nothing for her, but it is something to Common Ground, and she's doing it to more than one charity...

I was never homeless but my mom was as a child to the age 20 moved to America and stated a new life and got out of being homeless she worked hard and saved up money so now she is wealthy and ow

Ali Thank you for showing us that "All rich people are not GREEDY" I cryed my eyes out.You are an awesome woman and I hope you find your "Prince Charming" but I doubt you will because all they will want you for is you money. I hate to sound negative but it is the way the world is now a days. Me, I believe money is a way to a means and that is all it means to me. I am a 59 year old man, a vet and disabled without a car and I cannot get any help to get a vehicle this is sad. I live 40 miles round trip to the nearest town and I hate having to ask for rides, I have never been without a vehicle and it is hard, I could get one but then I would be homeless and I do not believe GOD wants that for me. I miss my V.A. appointments sometimes because I cannot make the 400 mile round trip. Thanks for showing me YOUR GIANT HEART. I hope you read this. GOD Bless you.

For those of you who are upset she gave 30.000...That is actually enough to feed 800 people for a whole year. How do I know cause I work with the homeless. Maybe quit being so critical & look what you can do in your own back yard as everyone is one paycheque away from homelessness. Also, this clip creates awareness...even to you hard core heartless people...you watched you learned & guess what? 1 day you to will feel with your heart not with your hurt & think about this clip....

i saw a guy holding up a sign saying a penny will bless you with a cup but i knew something was up so i watched him for a bit and what do you know he gets in his car and drives home people like that are a waste of room and food on this planet but other news my friend currently went on a trip to georgia and saw a homeless manso she got him a happy meal and brightend his day up see its not that hard to help a person out

my research, most of them chose that life when there are other
alternatives available for them. They claim those places have to
many rules that you have to follow!

I disagree. 30k is a lot more than 300. The donator's motivations may make you feel a certain way, but money is money. It is the organization who benefits far more here.

30k is a lot of money. There are millionaires who wouldn't even give as little as a dollar to a homeless person if they saw them on the street. Plus, wealthy people obviously pay more taxes.

If you keep thinking like that you'll go down with the rest of the people who don't do anything about their future with the changing world of technology, food,... practically everything, even money.

It's usually time and money spent doing charity work. We don't get paid. We give. That's the whole point. You should know better since you consider yourself a charitable person.

Believe it or not, this program doesn't have many viewers because most people view this show as such...short amount of viewers = less money being brought out...not to mention that shows supply itself by using the money to pay for the rest of the employees, camera men, directors etc etc etc...the total amount would most likely be(FOR HER) is only 30k on a good day.
