I've gotten many specials and tracks cut here including Dean on a few tracks with harmonies and all the wonderful things Dean brings and accordingly received numerous emails from Mr. Bennett with the work but I've never seen the studio or Mikey's face. So to Mikey Bennett and Dean Frasier, utmost respect and thanks. Great video.
We recorded Love Sign and Loving Organ ( my two original songs) there! We met Kirk Bennett (excellent drummer there) - he eventually played here at our live show in Belize 🇧🇿 #Lovesign
These studio,s sound technically very nice but something in the individual character has gone, They all seem to sound similar and the mixing sounds very level, safe and standard.I grew up in a different era when you could tell if it was Harry J, Joe Gibbs or Channel One! The mix would sound more unrestrained and tougher, the rice and peas flavour was more to the fore. But I guess the business finally grew up and became commercial, after all its all about money these days.
Good series but you might want to fire your editor or QC guy because dear Mr. editor won't you please not show a picture of Lloyd Knibbs when you are talking about Tommy McCook shameful mistake respect the foundation !!!!!
Noticed this while watching on my smart TV, had to come to the comments to make sure I wasn't the only reggae fan who noticed. I'm a drummer first and had the pleasure of meeting Knibbs serval times. Unfortunately Tommy McCook died long before I could ever meet him. Still, I couldn't believe a documentary series on Jamaican artists could make a flop like this, it's like mixing up John Coltrane with Max Roach😳
