There are SO many amazing oils, butters, and fats to choose from! Here is a video I made a while back that is a good place to start. ruclips.net/video/wjczuZdqhns/видео.html What works great for my may not be your preference. You'll also want to play with SF percentages. I use olive, coconut, palm/lard/tallow (picking one), castor, and shea. My shave soap also has avocado oil and apple cider vinegar (that actually neutralizes some of the lye and increases the SF). Have you looked at the Soap Queen blog? She has some great recipes for beginners as well as a comprehensive list of oils with recommended amounts and what they do at certain percentage rates. Also, The Nerdy Farm Wife has some great recipes to start with.

I love this thank you. I am very new to soap making. Would you mind sharing your recipe for your typical bar of soap as well as your shave soap?
