Gorgeous family it was very meaningful to have a Royal Family in Russia. It has so much culture and I think if had a Royal family today they would be one of the best countries in the world. @@omarma7815 There is a good book called "The Race to Save the Romanovs" by Helen Rappaport which details the story of the question of getting the Romanovs out of Russia. In there it details that while the British did grant asylum, many of it's people did not wish it. And since George's position as monarch was precarious (in his eyes) he ultimately refused (while also being pressured by parliament to do so as well)

Gorgeous family it was very meaningful to have a Royal Family in Russia. It has so much culture and I think if had a Royal family today they would be one of the best countries in the world. @@omarma7815 There is a good book called "The Race to Save the Romanovs" by Helen Rappaport which details the story of the question of getting the Romanovs out of Russia. In there it details that while the British did grant asylum, many of it's people did not wish it. And since George's position as monarch was precarious (in his eyes) he ultimately refused (while also being pressured by parliament to do so as well)

I love the music! wish I could track it down. I think it says the composer is somebody Kuleshovoy and the singer is Yulia Berezova. Not sure that tells me much LOL
The title of the first song starting from 0:03 is "Tsar as a man of prayer". The title of the second song which starts from 4:03 is "Over the conjugal altar". Both songs have been composed and performed by the brilliant Russian singer Julia Berezova who tragically died in a road accident in 2015. Lilia Kuleshova is, however, not a composer but a poetess who wrote the lyrics to these two songs.
