If there was a way to just save the children even at their own expense, Kobe and the rest of the parents on the helicopter wouldn’t hesitate. Kobe didn’t care about his death, he was prob devastated that Gigi’s was highly possible (same for the other parents). It’s heartbreaking as a parent who always wants to protect their kids, realizing that in that moment there was really nothing they could do. If there was a way to just save the children even at their own expense, Kobe and the rest of the parents on the helicopter wouldn’t hesitate.
