- KIS, a small Jeep specific accessory company once had a package called the KIS Triple Diamond kit. (The company has since shifted to sound bars exclusively, shucks!!) The system included products from Alpine- (my suggestion is to now purchase from your local shop that is an Alpine dealer!) a super rad 9 inch touch screen, powered amplifier, replacement speakers and tweeters and a 10 inch subwoofer with a sealed box enclosure.
It was a nice package so you didn't have to patch together the amp mounts, various wiring, and the box for the sub- but there's a huge marketplace out there for our Jeeps- so, with some googling you can make your own setup!
I've never done wiring, there are imperfections but I'm learning as I go!

You never run any form of rca next to power. Power wire when carrying currant is slightly magnetized and will hurt performance of amp .... realy suprises me a professional shop allowed that.

I always wonder why the backup cams are mounted so low. Higher mounts would assist with backing up to trailers without requiring a second person to guide you in.

you can leave the wires in the sun for a few hours they get nice and soft and you can form them easily **tech tip** hehe
Ok silly question. What happens to this sound system if you take on water when off roading? What about if it rains when the top is off?

Not a silly question at all!
The screen not waterproof, water will definitely destroy the 9" head unit!
With the amp mounted under the seat...if you submerge, then it's an issue!
Sub enclosure should be ok but they don't guarantee any of it being waterproof!
Tony Shuker Rockford fosgate makes waterproof amps speakers etc. awesome sound and you dont have to worry about them getting wet

I'd like to see you do this with Roxy. Was thinking about my Land Cruiser but there's a lot more Jeeps running around than 97 Land Cruisers. Long story on my 2015 Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock but they sold it even after I had put down a $3000 deposit and booked my flight. Wanted to sue their asses. But I flipped mindset and went back to the green 97 LC I found. Not the same level of Jeep camaraderie but I know the LC will take me where I need to go.

what is your concern with rain getting on your amps that are under the seat if you take the top off and it rains?
Good morning Adam! It's mounted to the underside of the seat, and up off the carpet - assuming I don't allow my her to fill with water, it should be fine! 😁👊🏼

I know it's a convenient place to run them, but I always hear that You're not supposed to run your RCAs or speaker wires anywhere you have power cables as the Electro magnetic fields from the power lines will cause distortion in the sound. Did you use shielded RCAs?
I just ran them where David always runs them, he's a pro so I don't know if there should be interference but there certainly isn't! 😊🙌🏽
Hey, stupid question, what size are the stock Rubicon wheels & tires? Also, could you have mounted the GPS antenna on the roof to get better coverage off-road? Thank you very much.
The tires on the Rubi are a 225/75/17 which I think translates to a 31! I'm really not sure if mounting the antenna higher would assist in better signal- I assume they would have in the process to mount it higher if it made a difference! I don't know though!

Yes! We replaced my speakers for better sound!
The only wiring we did was to the sub in the back which is part of the kit, the Jeeps don't come factory with a sub, to my knowledge! The rest was wiring for the backup camera, Bluetooth mic and head unit!

Just one sub, the triple diamond kit is the 10inch sub for the back, the double diamond is an 8 inch sub that goes under the drivers seat!
By the way you have a nice jeep💯

Where can I get all the Alpine part numbers? Is the wiring harness from KIs or Alpine?
surferdjnj I would check out Alpine's website for direct parts- the wiring harness is from them. The box for the sub and the brackets to mount amps is KIS. 😊
so there is 2 subs in the jeep? 1 under the driver seat and 1 in the rear?

What's the frequency response from the under seat sub? I'm having trouble finding specs. I have twin subs in the rear of my 07 JK. Those low profile subs don't usually go below 200 Hz.

I thought the PWE S8 was a low profile sub.

+Emily Williams at 5:20 your drilling holes to mount an amp under the passenger seat and a sub under the drivers seat, what happened, no mention about it after that? Did you end up mounting it in the sub enclosure in the back?
Nice vid but much of the drilling and stuff like that could have been avoided with a little more research into other products. JL audio stealth boxes for the subs and boxes, backup cameras that mount behind the spare tire using it as a sort of cloak as well.
Due to my partnership, I wouldn't consider using someone else's install methods/parts. 😊 thanks for watching!
+Emily Williams that makes sense and the pre make wire harnesses are a major bonus. Any plans to add an alarm? specifically with a proximity(?) sensor to alert when people reach into the jeep?
+b1oody 67 that would be cool! We have an early Bronco that's always topless, so we get our full there but it is scary to think about being topless/doorless with this system!!
My thoughts exactly, 3000+ for a head unit alone. I have plans to put in much of the same stuff you show here. It is still a worry if someone tries to steal the head unit or just stabs the screen.

Super scary cutting the dash, for sure!! What I enjoy most about the system is the screen! The sound quality is a huge improvement though too! Backup camera doesn't suck either! Haha! Just depends if you wanna spend your mod money in this area! 😊

There is absolutely no reason why you have to remove all of that stuff to install that. I have a similar system and its even cleaner looking then that. Lol.
