Thank You for the demo! After listening to the V-Mod pickups here as well as the Super 55, Gen 4 Noiseless, CS 60s, Pure Vintage 64, Pure Vintage 74 and the Original on other demo videos, I've come to a personal preference of choosing the Yosemite. Love the tone and growl out of them.
@@dnp41 The yosemite has somewhat a modern tone to them..They have a Robust Output to my ears with alot of clarity. I would say they sounded more like Marcus Miller's tone. They would fit nicely for pick playing i guess but dont take my word for it. Go out and test them at your local music stores that stocks Fender basses fitted with them. I believe the Fender American Performer Jazz basses are stock-fitted with them. Fender claimed that players can get a wider tonal variety with them. I've decided to go for the Custom Shop 60s' Jazz pickups instead just cause i wanted a more traditional vintage tone out of my Jazz with flatwounds.
I typically play my Spector and have been a long time Fender basher. I recently decided to give Fender a chance and tried the US Pro series Jazz Bass and after setting it up properly, which for some reason, Fender never feels like doing before basses leave their factory, which is why so many people pick up Squires off the rack and claim they play as well as the US fenders, but that's another story, I was pleasantly surprised. Glad I gave it a shot. It sounds absolutely KILLER through my Aguilar AG700 and Ampeg SVT6X10-HLF and the neck feels great in the hand.
I've just bought one and the setup was great from the factory, although I know what you mean. I was surprised. The intonation is _perfect_ and I mean perfect. Amazing actually - I've never had a bass that accurate. It's a lovely instrument, no doubt, very happy.
Because they're awesome :D a P and a J is all I own nowadays (actually, still selling my Stingray, I'm good with just 2 Fenders), both get the same amount of playtime. Just good old fashioned passive P and J.
Go with the Squier Vintage Modified series Basses. Save yourself some loot. I have 4 Squier Basses 2 P's and 2 J's that sound and feel fantastic with stock pickups, my 77 Vintage Modified Jazz Bass has one of the best necks ever Maple with white block inlays.
David Richardson are you saying that squiers sound better? They are good for the money, don’t get me wrong, but this one is great and is definitely much better. Squiers are awesome too though, I like them.
Agree with both comments, this is a badass jazz bass. But I did also pick up the Squier VM 70’s, threw a set of EMG JVX’s in it and got it Plek’d. I ordered off the shelf and it came as a one piece body. After the Plek it contends with many of the USA basses I have. Like the other dude said, this and the entire pro series from Fender is awesome (I have the Pro Precision V and it’s mind blowing and an extremely clean build, solid and just beautiful sounding) but if you wanna save some loot, the Squier is no chump. Edit: autocorrect spelling fix
@@p90Killah I have Squier and Fender. The Squier is really good for the money, but the Fender am pro is a completely different class. You even can feel it just by grabbing them on the neck and lifting them up. I replaced the pickups on both and the tuners on the Squier also. The Squier is now a very good sounding workhorse now and really great fun to play. The Fender instead is a dream came true.
02:10 "we don't have dead spots" - ah, sorry, we do have dead spots. It's an excellent Instrument and I am very happy to have one, but even with the carbon rod inside the neck it has a light but clearly audible dead spot.
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us! The pickups on this particular bass are the Fender VMod Single Coil pickups. As with most Jazz Bass guitars, they are true single coil pickups. Mickey Cushing, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3024, Mickey_Cushing@Sweetwater.com
Mitch takes himself way too seriously. I can't ever get into the descriptions because he seems so uncomfortable on screen and too forced. Too rehearsed and not any personality. Sorry guys.
The Fender Jazz was born to rock....How about some good ol' fashioned Rock playing, along with a Classic Fender Bass amp....Can't really appreciate the tone through all the farting....
In my opinion this is the worst bass guitar that Fender has ever made. Overpriced and comes with a under bowed neck and the sound is nothing like a Fender Jazz should sound. If I want a Fender I'll stick to the Squire that has a straight neck
Great step up in quality with all the Sweetwater videos lately. Great job
My USA Pro J Bass has been excellent... No complaints, great tone and playability, and good fit and finish...
Ordering a sonic gray lefty this week. Can't wait to hear it through my svt7 and Markbass 4x10.
Just ordered one yesterday.
Can't wait to get it 🤘
Great sound and tone coming through that Aguilar!

So are the yosemite's as good as you had hoped? Would you also recommend them for pick playing?

I wonder if Andy had any critiques of the bass at all. I would've liked to have heard that as well.

Yeah mate my jazz V was set up fine👍
as a drummer i have played with more bassists playing a fender jazz than all other basses combined lol

@Everything facts

I don't agree 100% ,squires are good I have them but I also have a fender and choose the fender jazz V over the squires.
