This is what I came here for. I came to this channel to hear nux talk about life. I always enjoy vids like these whenever they come. Hearing about someone's struggles helps me see my own struggles, and helps me remind myself why I struggle.

Yusuke is one of my favorite protagonists in all of anime. "I've already said I'll never forgive you, now I'll never be able to forgive myself." YYH is amazing and one of the all time greatest shows ever.
Im really happy to once again see the more authentic side of Nux. These sort of moral and philosophical breakdowns are the reason I subscribed and the topics often discussed within are the reason i got into anime to begin with. I know its not realistic to ask for old content and its probably annoying to hear things like "i miss the old nux"... im just happy to see that circumstances have brought this relatable content out once again.
The biggest problem of society is lack of empathy, if everyone could at least try to understand the person next to them we could have a much better world. Empathy: The ability to understand and share the feelings of another.

Did you all know that Hiei kind of inspired Sasuke - as well as Captain Levi's shorty design and snarky attitude from AOT was partly inspired from him? as stated by both Kishimoto (Naruto) and Isayama (Attack on Titan). The mangaka author of Black Clover also said his favorite character of all time was Hiei and some of the designs in his manga were derived from Hiei's. Hiei isn't just badass, this guy popularized badassery in manga/anime.

This is why I like Nux, he is extremely open about things like these in such a way that you can't imagine it ever being fake, some people may take offense but that's why I watch him, bc I know he doesn't care whether he is controversial or not, it feels so honest, there are youtubers who try not to offend anyone at all (or just not offend the louder group) but you can tell that's not what they actually think, these days it's so hard to know whether someone is genuine or not but I think it's safe to say that Nux is being completely honest, (unless he is an absolute mastermind who is secretly planning to take over the universe with the billy army :0)
Honestly, this was a beautiful video. The themes of "Why do you fight" were beautifully represented in this video and Yu Yu Hakusho. I know the chances of you reading this are unlikely but I would really love the Hunter X Hunter video. Also, you should make whatever content you want, whether it's anime dubs or no one understands videos. I love your channel and I'll stick by it. I hope you recover from Covid soon and keep doing what you do man.
Nux, relatively new fan here. I always loved the way your videos showed a carefree and chaotic persona, and even when you sit down to talk about something important, that comes through in an endearing way. The way I think about life is that each day is a step forward, and that its up to each of us to make that step count to going to where we ultimately want to go. It's always hardest when where you want to go seems too far away, or if it seems completely elusive. The important part is to keep going because with enough walking... hell, you might end up in a place you didn't know you wanted to be all along.
Not enough people around me appreciate this masterpiece, I genuinely thank you for this one, even though personally I have a different favorite moment I just love how everything in this anime pushes one to better them selves, even if it's sometimes just get out of bed and get shit done, You are not who you were 5 years ago, neither is Yusuke or anyone else, that's the sign of progress and that's a reason to celebrate every day when it comes!
it got me through a nasty break up. after we broke up i was severley depressed, i was in a house alone, for the first time in 10 years. saw the dvd set on the shelf and just went on a binge. 3 days later i felt like a butterfly coming out of its cacoon. this anime will forever have a special place in my heart. a calling back if you will, to remember who you are, and how strong you really are. "even though weve been together, were still different people, but! not alone. syanara bye bye!" what a poetic end.
Sensui's problem, I think, was that he fought for ideal humanity. When he learned that real humanity is flawed, his ideal shattered, and he could not forgive humanity for not being up to his standard. The problem stems from lack of empathy with weak creatures, both human and demon, as he was never weak. Shattering his idea shattered Sensui as he struggled to accept real humanity as whole and those shards were poisoned with all he couldn't accept in himself as he too was not perfect. Sad story of strength and pride, really.
anime has battles but most of the "battles" are metaphors if you read between the lines at their core about life...so thats why people relate to fighting anime more then most who avoid the genre do...yes there are battles none of us have in real life with powers and fists but what is a villain but a obstacle in life...same for a rival...so when you fight them its like the manifestation of fighting life's problems in a form rather than just it being a constant in society...yyh shows this very well

I go from abnormally giddy about things and doing things, to existentially knowimg that nothing I do will ever help anyone, despite any proof otherwise, and back again, and hover between, frequently and seemingly at random. The algorithm doing the same is why I will probably never RUclips as a career. I don't need the outside world doing the same. Nux, do you know someone who is depressed? Because if so, there is someone you can talk to about the algorithm, because their outlook on life is affected by their internal algorithm.

Depends on the Situation. If you struggle with Social Interactives I suggest the words of Jacksepticeye: "we are all awkward and sometimes the best Thing you can do is don't give a fuck." It's harder than it sounds. But you always have to ask yourself: is your Doubt worth it? Will you ever see this Person again or interact with them or even want to see them again. If you don't care for something you should let it go. Something I'm personally fail all the time. But if you don't work on it, it will never change and control your Life. I find it always interesting, when Nux has a philosophical talk about both anime and videogames. It makes you think about it. That's why his Undertale videos are one of my favourites. It makes you appreciate them even more than before.
Glad you brought up the "danger of sheltering", because that's exactly what happened to me. Catholic family didn't want to expose me to the ugly world, thanks to that I had an incident that made me become the thing I hate. There's so many subtle things about yu yu hakusho people miss....for example how toguro wanted yusuke to prove him wrong which you only get on rewatch as he wants to see which choice gains more power and can overwhelm the other one that rellies on individual while the other rellies on feelings for others and the extra power that generates helps him win...cause he's not doing it for himself... what about how sensui is testing yusuke and his gang morally the entire time instead of just killing them earlier and they pass with flying colors...he knew his plan would work he said he waited for a replacement not to fight but to judge so he controls the entire show every step he takes...when you rewatch it he stands out more than on first watch...or how hiei can be an anti hero but still his own person not just good or bad aka cliched sides of one but some weird grey mix with an actual honor code and hard to predict motives...how about how keiko was not in time to kiss yusuke but their bond being so strong made him come back anyways or how her favorite color saved the world at the end of the manga that the anime skipped but got animated in 2018 as a canon manga paneled and written ova.....check it out.....or how genkai and toguro were clearly lovers seeing yusuke as their child and probably making love the day kiran killed the students so toguro blames himself and her for that.... subtle things made yyh good and people miss this stuff all the time...how about all the normalcy around this nonsense during chapter black to contrast it well...like when keiko tells yusuke not to steal a bike cause it's not his showing she still dotes over him like her role at school as she has for years since she met him...its such a human moment and is in character...I love that

Not just religious but overprotective, thinking that everybody is out to get you, that there is no one you can trust not even yourself. You just become paranoid after a while.
Also pushback or people trying to get you out of it, is the evil trying to lead you astray and you have to keep the faith harder. There is a reason that certain topics are pushed into kids, a simple one everyone remembers but doesn't think to often is the computers, did, or products aimed at you. Your computers from Apple, Microsoft, or Google are sold at reduced costs in a hope to get lifelong customers. So much is geared towards phases of someone's lifespan to get the hooks in. Try to be objective and skeptical, have folks you know are on your side, and taking it slow when unsure is ok, go at your pace. Also there are people in your life that love you and want the best for you, they want to see you again like your four letter family members, drive safe as well.
Sorry for the long message, I tend to ramble. Please just know that people think different than you, but don't wish ill towards you. Those people exist of course I'm not saying that. But having people on your side that don't threaten you with eternal damnation as a punishment exists. There are hundreds of religions, or spiritualisms, also just humanism so care about people and don't look for a divine reward for doing so.

@@silentnight3192 I hoped what I said was taken a bit more in general, it doesn't only have to be religion it can include over protective just anything that says, "stay inside this group or system as we're your only safe area and everything outside isn't". Like only our product solves your problem, only this food or idea is good for you. I'm glad you have family that is protective of you. I was just trying to give a few examples of ways things are pushed onto people at a young age that causes conflict or not looking outside those options, like Nux mentioned in the video.

Gonna tell you, your talk about reasons to fight has really inspired me and I have decided, after watching this video, to take a look at my life and the reasons I'm fighting here and now. I have had this crisis before, but it just ocurred to me that it was almost 5 years ago and that my reasons to keep fighting may have changed since then, and that may be the reason I don't always feel right all the time anymore. Also that talk about being sheltered and having your world view change, I consider my parents to be open minded people, but my world view has started to change recently and your whole speech has put what is happening to me into perspective and made me rethink my next steps. Also also, I'd like to recomend to you, and anyone that feel similar, that you start seeing a psychologist. I don't know what your views on them are, but there are some common myths that say psychologists are just for crazy people or for when you have a mental illness like depression or anxiety. But they are actually suposed to be a line of defense to prevent that, they give you an envoirement to freely talk with someone about your life completely without judgment and recieve some advices, life lessions and epiphanies as a bonus. Sorry if this got confusing, I'm mostly puting my ideas in order after watching (and being inspired by) your video. I also got covid and marathoned a beloved series these last few days, and you have given me even more to think about after that. I hope you keep fighting and find a good reason to fight. Keep on keeping on!
Honestly, this kind of hurt to watch/listen to. I'm not a fan of looking into my emotions and I ignore my own struggles because I think it's too much work to help myself. It's a dumb excuse but it's what I go by. Thank you though, this kind of opened my eyes and I would love to listen to how HunterxHunter changed you.
I feel the same. Free spirited only wanting to do what I enjoy. Everything else can go to hell. And I'm a student who doesn't enjoy exams. Obviously it doesn't bode well, but I never found any purpose in studying for exams. They say your future depends on it, that's all, but to me, it's just a feeling of struggle that I don't want to partake in. But by the time an exam came, this overwhelming feeling of fear just cloaked me where I kept feeling guilty about it even though this is what I had planned and brought upon myself. So the behaviour made no sense to me. But the fear only truly came because I stopped doing the stuff I like and asked myself why was a leading life this way. And not being able to find a proper answer for doing something I enjoy or ignoring things I don't like, that just put me in a state of fear of not knowing what was in store for me, what I truly wanted and if it was the right thing to do - a right way to lead my life Sorry if this got big
@@s3nsation646 the exam thing is a symptom of a fundamentally broken school system. And it does need to change. But until everyone calms down and learns that there are good bits in it as it is and it is needed but it is also very harmful right now, what we as students need to do is swallow the bitter pill that is the exams. Then, at the end, we get off this artificial treadmill and we start rummaging through the pieces we gathered while on it. And then we do our best to make something out of them. And even though we walked the same treadmill as many, because the treadmill wasn't in any way perfect, the pieces we end up with-let alone the whole we make of them- will be unique to us. And so a system built to homogenously teach us the same knowledge builds up varied skillsets and specialists. Broken, many of us, yes. But we are here, we are someone and none of us is like the other. And while not ideal it is something. And something we can begin taking pride in.

I’m not gonna lie Nux, you and I, a viewer, have similarities. After constant bullying and dealing with the worst people in my life, I’m still trying to figure out why I fight too. Why I keep going. Honestly, I was never happy with what I’ve done. Good grades in school? Not satisfying. Friends? Feel fake. People who care about me? Fake news. I’ve been conflicted for a long time... but you also make a good point. It’s sad, sure, but a good point. I’m fighting because it’s better then sitting down or dropping dead. I’d rather go out with some form of dignity then just end it all, even if it’s just a bit of dignity. Humanity is cruel, along with life, but we just have to deal with it. It’s life. Did you all know that Hiei kind of inspired Sasuke - as well as Captain Levi's shorty design and snarky attitude from AOT was partly inspired from him? as stated by both Kishimoto (Naruto) and Isayama (Attack on Titan). The mangaka author of Black Clover also said his favorite character of all time was Hiei and some of the designs in his manga were derived from Hiei's.

This is why I like Nux, he is extremely open about things like these in such a way that you can't imagine it ever being fake, some people may take offense but that's why I watch him, bc I know he doesn't care whether he is controversial or not, it feels so honest, there are youtubers who try not to offend anyone at all (or just not offend the louder group) but you can tell that's not what they actually think, these days it's so hard to know whether someone is genuine or not but I think it's safe to say that Nux is being completely honest, (unless he is an absolute mastermind who is secretly planning to take over the universe with the billy army :0)

Nux, relatively new fan here. I always loved the way your videos showed a carefree and chaotic persona, and even when you sit down to talk about something important, that comes through in an endearing way. The way I think about life is that each day is a step forward, and that its up to each of us to make that step count to going to where we ultimately want to go. It's always hardest when where you want to go seems too far away, or if it seems completely elusive. The important part is to keep going because with enough walking... hell, you might end up in a place you didn't know you wanted to be all along.

Sensui's problem, I think, was that he fought for ideal humanity. When he learned that real humanity is flawed, his ideal shattered, and he could not forgive humanity for not being up to his standard. Such a good anime! I love the line from Genkai when she says, "No human is a one man show". This was in reference to Toguro.
There's so many subtle things about yu yu hakusho people miss....for example how toguro wanted yusuke to prove him wrong which you only get on rewatch as he wants to see which choice gains more power and can overwhelm the other one that rellies on individual while the other rellies on feelings for others and the extra power that generates helps him win...cause he's not doing it for himself... what about how sensui is testing yusuke and his gang morally the entire time instead of just killing them earlier and they pass with flying colors...he knew his plan would work he said he waited for a replacement not to fight but to judge so he controls the entire show every step he takes...when you rewatch it he stands out more than on first watch...or how hiei can be an anti hero but still his own person not just good or bad aka cliched sides of one but some weird grey mix with an actual honor code and hard to predict motives...how about how keiko was not in time to kiss yusuke but their bond being so strong made him come back anyways or how her favorite color saved the world at the end of the manga that the anime skipped but got animated in 2018 as a canon manga paneled and written ova.....check it out.....or how genkai and toguro were clearly lovers seeing yusuke as their child and probably making love the day kiran killed the students so toguro blames himself and her for that.... subtle things made yyh good and people miss this stuff all the time...how about all the normalcy around this nonsense during chapter black to contrast it well...like when keiko tells yusuke not to steal a bike cause it's not his showing she still dotes over him like her role at school as she has for years since she met him...its such a human moment and is in character...I love that

There is a reason that certain topics are pushed into kids, a simple one everyone remembers but doesn't think to often is the computers, did, or products aimed at you.
Your computers from Apple, Microsoft, or Google are sold at reduced costs in a hope to get lifelong customers. So much is geared towards phases of someone's lifespan to get the hooks in.
Try to be objective and skeptical, have folks you know are on your side, and taking it slow when unsure is ok, go at your pace.
Also there are people in your life that love you and want the best for you, they want to see you again like your four letter family members, drive safe as well.

Gonna tell you, your talk about reasons to fight has really inspired me and I have decided, after watching this video, to take a look at my life and the reasons I'm fighting here and now. I have had this crisis before, but it just ocurred to me that it was almost 5 years ago and that my reasons to keep fighting may have changed since then, and that may be the reason I don't always feel right all the time anymore.
Also that talk about being sheltered and having your world view change, I consider my parents to be open minded people, but my world view has started to change recently and your whole speech has put what is happening to me into perspective and made me rethink my next steps.
Also also, I'd like to recomend to you, and anyone that feel similar, that you start seeing a psychologist. I don't know what your views on them are, but there are some common myths that say psychologists are just for crazy people or for when you have a mental illness like depression or anxiety. But they are actually suposed to be a line of defense to prevent that, they give you an envoirement to freely talk with someone about your life completely without judgment and recieve some advices, life lessions and epiphanies as a bonus.
Sorry if this got confusing, I'm mostly puting my ideas in order after watching (and being inspired by) your video. I also got covid and marathoned a beloved series these last few days, and you have given me even more to think about after that. I hope you keep fighting and find a good reason to fight. Keep on keeping on!

I feel the same. Free spirited only wanting to do what I enjoy. Everything else can go to hell. And I'm a student who doesn't enjoy exams. Obviously it doesn't bode well, but I never found any purpose in studying for exams. They say your future depends on it, that's all, but to me, it's just a feeling of struggle that I don't want to partake in. But by the time an exam came, this overwhelming feeling of fear just cloaked me where I kept feeling guilty about it even though this is what I had planned and brought upon myself. So the behaviour made no sense to me. But the fear only truly came because I stopped doing the stuff I like and asked myself why was a leading life this way. And not being able to find a proper answer for doing something I enjoy or ignoring things I don't like, that just put me in a state of fear of not knowing what was in store for me, what I truly wanted and if it was the right thing to do - a right way to lead my life

But until everyone calms down and learns that there are good bits in it as it is and it is needed but it is also very harmful right now, what we as students need to do is swallow the bitter pill that is the exams. Then, at the end, we get off this artificial treadmill and we start rummaging through the pieces we gathered while on it. And then we do our best to make something out of them. And even though we walked the same treadmill as many, because the treadmill wasn't in any way perfect, the pieces we end up with-let alone the whole we make of them- will be unique to us. And so a system built to homogenously teach us the same knowledge builds up varied skillsets and specialists. Broken, many of us, yes. But we are here, we are someone and none of us is like the other. And while not ideal it is something. And something we can begin taking pride in.

I’m not gonna lie Nux, you and I, a viewer, have similarities. After constant bullying and dealing with the worst people in my life, I’m still trying to figure out why I fight too. Why I keep going. Honestly, I was never happy with what I’ve done. Good grades in school? Not satisfying. Friends? Feel fake. People who care about me? Fake news. I’ve been conflicted for a long time... but you also make a good point. It’s sad, sure, but a good point. I’m fighting because it’s better then sitting down or dropping dead.
