Adding fractions you simply cross multiply and multiply denominator

That is not how you ADD fractions. 😂 36 is correct. Its the lowest common denominator.
13 is Wrong. It should be 10.

Where you're finding error, they is no error there. The denominator they want in the parallel calculation is the one that the both number can divide without a remainder, 18 can divide 9 without a remainder but cannot divide 4 without a remainder.
Secondly, nothing wrong with the 13 there. 9+4 will actually give you 13.
