What made this year so crazy, is that after Jimbo Fisher (our OC at the time) left LSU back in like 2007(our last natty before this), our offense sucked every single year up until Joe Brady got here in 2019, and the first year LSU started throwing the ball with a purpose, THIS was the result. As far as best LSU team ever, this is the best TEAM ever word up.
Legit could have hung 100 on OU. Took the foot off the pedal and rested a lot of guys for the Championship though. If THIS had been the final game, the score would have been like 105-49

2019 LSU was an afterthought at the beginning of the season. Not even close to being the best. 2001-02 Miami Hurricanes greatest team of all time, started out at the top and finished at the top. Unlike LSU would came from last place to finish first. Not even a dynasty like Miami Hurricanes

The 2001 Miami team didn’t play near the schedule this 2019 LSU team did. 2019 played 7 top 10 ranked teams, 2001 Miami played 1 top 10 ranked team. 2019 LSU played against more #1 ranked defenses that season ( 2 different ones at the time of the game ), than how many top 15 ranked defenses ( 1 ) 2001 Miami did. Btw, 2019 LSU played against 6 top 15 ranked defenses that season !! 2019 LSU totally destroyed the defending national champions Clemson who was riding a 29 game winning streak, along with having the #1 ranked defense in the country in the national championship game. 2001 Miami on the other hand, well they beat a Nebraska team that didn’t even win their conference that season in the national championship game. 2019 LSU beat all 4 of the preseason top 4 ranked teams for the 2019 season. Clemson, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida & Georgia combined to go 60-4 against everybody not named LSU that season, LSU beat them all and beat them by an average of 20 points per game. 2001 Miami scored 495 points on the season, while 2019 LSU scored 736 points ( the NCAA all-time single season scoring record btw ) against what’s considered as being the overall hardest schedule that a national championship awarded team has ever played against in the history of college football !! 2001 Miami had 6 players drafted in the 2002 NFL draft, while 2019 LSU had 14 players including 5 first rounders drafted in the 2020 NFL draft. 20 of the 22 position player starters for the 2019 LSU team was drafted by the NFL, along with even their FG kicker…that’s more than how many of the starters for the 2001 Miami team had drafted by the NFL. So no, the 2001 Miami team was not better than what the 2019 LSU team was, the “REAL” numbers clearly tell us that much to be true !!!
