Guys! Thanks for watching! This may be my last travel video for a while... I have fallen out of love with the process of making travel vlog type content and will be moving into a different direction. I'm not exactly sure what that will look like yet but I'm hoping you come along for the journey with me!
I have always looked up to you and your brother Benn Tk for the best content creation, I wouldnt be mind flowing into another field of new content from you.... Jamie you are the best, we are waiting for the next journey. 💪
Bro don't quit. I literally go through the same things you do. I even made a separate channel at one point but I know its more of a mental battle because when I watch your videos I feel inspired all over again which is why I come back often.
Great cinematic travel Vlog Jamie! I can definitely feel how hard this hike was, very impressive that you still get to capture so many beautiful drone shots during the hike, NZ is BEAUTIFUL!
Awesome video guys and awesome views 😍😎 Just feel I need to post a few corrections- 1 Huts are not free all Huts in NZ have fees except for a few old backcountry Huts , see the DoC website. 2 learn how to use crampons and ice axe before you use them. Sliding down a mountain is not the place to learn how to self arrest. 3 drones are not allowed without a permit and there are fines for this. 4 being appropriately dressed and prepared for the cold is also really really important. Get a proper three season or winter sleeping bag before attempting Alpine climbs in winter The temperature in the hut is definitely warmer than outside as the hut has insulation and shelter from the wind if you’re outside you would’ve been much much much colder! Last make sure your training and fitness are up to scratch. MULLER is a tough walk I’ve done it three times and wanting to do it a couple more hopefully in the same conditions as you lucky guys.
Great video, enjoyed it alot ! Two problems though - Mueller hut isn't free, bookings aren't required in winter but hut fees still apply. I just wanted to say as not to encourage others to go without paying; The department of conservation is signficantly underfunded and does a great job at maintaining the area. Secondly please learn to use an ice axe correctly before going on an alpine hike!( I didn't see a single shot of holding/using one correctly!) I've seen alot of people fall before an not know what to do once they start because they wern't holding it correctly.
Ty legend! We did make a payment at DOC - totally forgot to mention that! And the ice pick we didn't actually need they just gave us to take up - but definitely would learn to use it on more advanced hikes. Thanks for watching :)
Great blog! And such an impressive hike! Of course, I would never do it. As much as I love hiking, I don’t enjoy the cold. Sorry you couldn’t sleep well up there 😅 anyway, looking fw to the next one! 😀
Nice photography but why would you say Mueller hut was free and being a extremely greatful recipient of search and rescue services why do you think its OK to fly a drone in a zone which clearly forbids them and could compromise a helicopter rescue.. Just saying brothers helping brothers.
I just did this hike last week and I don’t get it how you guys manage to look so good all the time! Even when the bad night of sleep all of you look gorgeous, so unfair haha. Sick video!
that’s so dope! ya the thing with sharing vids such as this jamie is people are glued to tv amagramming so if not interested in things such as this then kinda hard yeti still push the close ones tho tamed vs a time a ago idk
Hi Jamie, great videos! Please don’t give up… Btw noticed that you guys were wrapping cling wrap around your socks before the leaving the hotel - what’s that for?
Hey lads and ladettes! Great video. Loved this. My partner Kate and I are planning to do this in Mid September. We love hikes in Australia but obviously doesn't compare to this in terms of difficulty. Have you guys done alpine trails before? Was it doable? Cheers! PS: love the Anjunadeep soundtrack
I’m doing this exact trip in a couple months!! Your an absolute wizard with the content and you’ve gotten me even more excited for my trip! Did you guys have much hiking experience doing the trek ?
Zero hiking experience ! Go to DOC in the area and they will give you a rundown then if you need you can hire boots and hiking poles around the corner for like $20-$30 :)
Oh we didn't even need the ice axe for this - the dude was like 'Do you want these for your video' and we were like hells yeah!!! hahaha If I ever did something where you actually needed them I'd do a full on boot camp for sure ! lolol

Out of curiosity how did you manage to fly the drone in Aoraki without a permit? Or did you have a Permit?
Awesome Jamie! Always enjoy the way you tell a story. Excellent work brother! You're an inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

First time on alpine trails - very doable for beginners. Go talk to Doc before you go up and they’ll explain everything

Legend!
Learn to use crampons bro
This was my first time using crampons and I learnt a lot on this trip. Stop spreading negativity and discouraging people from learning to hike.
@@JamieTK 0 negativity, 100 informativity
