- My April 2017 bikepacking adventure around nine Balkan countries, exploring the region off-road, camping wild, and traveling solo.
Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia, and Serbia. Three weeks, 2,000km, +35,000m.
Update: Gear List (because so many of you lovely people have asked!)
Front roll bag:
* puff jacket
* wool leggings/top
* tuque + gloves
* wool neck warmer
* clean t-shirt
* clean trousers
* 2-3 season sleeping bag
Frame fit bag:
* bike tools: pump, patches/levers, duct tape, cable ties, multi tool, 1 tube, lube
* small tripod
* daily snacks
* sunscreen
Top tube bag:
* passport
* wallet
* phone
* charger
* camera
Saddle bag:
* sandals
* tent
* sleeping pad
* rain jacket
* bike lock (never used)
* food (bread and cheese ftw)

Bravo Jenny! Wonderful video and epic riding/touring. You missed Greece though. ;) Come down when you can and explore our country...you'll love it. I bicycled toured mainland Greece back in the summer of 1983...bring low gears and be ready to experience the awesome hospitality of the Greeks. Keep exploring and safe riding!

Awesome video and great music 🎶 too but one request if I may be so bold to ask ....can you make it longer if at all possible because I could watch your trips for hours on end they all look so amazing and inspiring apart from the raining 🌧 hailstones part 😉 rather you than me 🙈 I just hope you didn’t get too cold but really well done because I just loved it all 👍👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks for your kind words Simon! One thing I learned early on is that there will always be more reasons not to go, but if it's important to you, you need to make it happen. There will always be sacrifices, and you can learn to accept that. I hope that makes sense and I hope you go have an adventure soon! :) x
Beautiful journey and the camera work was awesome. Maybe one day Ill get to tour on my bicycle outside the USA. I still have alot to see here for now. Safe travels from Danny here in the Missouri Ozarks and enjoy many more adventures Jenny.

Brrrrrr .......... all that snow, hail and camping in a summer tent! Rather you than me. I would be in an hotel or BnB if it were snowing freezing cold. The nights must have been very cold. Good on you for having the guts to do this ride solo. July/August would be much much warmer. Thanks for making and posting your video.

Oh my gosh what an awesome adventure. I am so ready for a bikepacking trip. Was off all last summer because of hip replacement surgery. Now, although it's winter, I am so excited to get out on a first trip with the new hip. lol Nice video.
That was so cool. I had a much shorter biketouring trip in the archipelago of Finland last summer and have been looking into making a bikepacking trip with my MTB or cyclocross. Would be nice to travel without panniers for a change. I am glad you enjoyed your trip. I will also take the time to try something (smaller) next summer :-)
