I call BS. That man didn't bother to bring up a single reason why he drinks UNTIL the counselor came out. He was clamoring for excuses to get last minute sympathy- he is a raging alcoholic and gambler, and he will sink that family. She should leave imo.
I don't agree, he felt a safe space because of the counselor and was able to share. He is traumatized and needs help. It's so easy to self medicate, trust I was number one until Jesus delivered me. Glory to God
This comment is why people self medicate in the first place. When they do speak up about their pains, it's dismissed. Obviously he has some type of problem, hopefully he gets help one day. (This doesn't mean I think she needs to stay though)

Fascinating video, Let's stop taking relationship and family for granted. I have battled depression since my wife left me. I have tried all I can to make her see that I love her with everything I am made of but she has insisted on leaving. This has made me so empty, and I do not know what to do. I quit drinking because I was drinking to access, and it was KILLING me. I also have PTSD and depression. I had to make a change because it ruining my mind. The deployments were harder on me than I thought

I’m so uncomfortable with the daughters input. This lady has a whole video of her drunk boyfriend cussing and kicking her out. How can’t be he what she’s (the mom) saying If there’s video proof. This was terrible Star is now overcompensating from all the backlash (unwarranted) that she sided with the men too much. His addiction is clear and his own. They did a disservice to everyone involved and those vulnerable to this. Very disappointing he needs to get therapy, actually they all do down to the daughter. I wish them well though.
I would never get serious with an addict. I was speaking to someone who told me he was addicted to gambling. When I asked him what that looked like. He described losing his ex wife after gambling away their home, and all the money in the bank. He had been homeless multiple times and explained he’s even gambled away money his family gave him to help him get back on his feet. He even expressed gambling away his entire paycheck the day it hits his account. According to him he attempted to stop. He would stop gambling for a short time and then give in to the urge. I’m glad he educated me because I’d never know this was something to look out for. However, this is a deal breaker for me. I can’t be with anyone who would gamble my home, stability, and future away.

If a kid of mine goes to court and testify against me...I'm done with them. What we have here is a guy who is good to her daughter, probably gives her whatever she wants and treat her well. PTSD? I knew his ex wife in the army and he was kicked out in Germany for DUI, never got the chance to deploy. She left him because he was an alcoholic and chronically unemployed. From what I hear doesn’t even take of his biological kids properly. So glad my friend got away from this loser.

He’s definitely an alcoholic. Trauma can definitely lead to alcoholism but it still doesn’t excuse bad behavior. I am sad the daughter blames her own mom for another grown persons drinking. That’s a no no. I saw the update from his now wife in the comments and I’m happy he’s sober! I hope he can continue using healthy coping because a mean drunk is the worst to be around. Ever.
