huge fan of the HATCH. this song is just incredible. totally brings me back to early high school. mullets, rat tails, leather jackets, bad facial hair, skin tight black levi's, moussed up hair, kodiak boots, earrings ... and the best rock music ever produced. all of us rockers who grew up in Ontario during the 80's will understand exactly what I'm talking about. a golden era indeed.
a virtually unheard of band from an ERA where a lot of real crappy bands got famous .. i really don't think there was a bad song on this album great stuff - brings back good memories
this what happens if you play 200+ shows a year. you get good, very good. multiple singers and songwriters, an amazing drummer and a hotshot schooled lead guitarist. only 1 problem...signed to a small CDN record label and MGMT too busy with rush
I am 50 this year and can say with all honesty that the 80's produced the best music I have ever heard, it was genuine honest and most of all original. every time I listen to the 200 or so fav rock tracks it transports me back to a time before i became ill and disabled, I was even quite a good looking guy, and they where the best years of my life, the UK rock scene was strong with Maxim's-Wigan and Jilly's- Manchester, we lived for the weekend, i'm glad I was part of such a great scene Taz
Such true lyrics! ☝🏻 Thank you Coney Hatch, for this song! 6 month ago, I lost my love of life, I can't believe it, it is still hurting and I still suffer a lot! A massive tragedy in my life! ☝🏻🤧😭😭😭
I waited nearly 30 years to see these guys play a live set, and in the space of two nights i saw Carl dixon ( Acoustic), AND Coney Hatch.... Plus i got to meet them all too. It`s the thing that rock and roll dreams are made of. Thanks guys.
Coney Hatch from Canada. I love the music .listen the music in 1985 best time the 80 .Carl Dixon 🤘🎸 And listen now 2023 bring me memorys lucky fun good music
Lucky Luciano They didn't release this as the single I agree that was a huge mistake this is easily the best song on this entire album. Also they where a Canadian band it can be harder for Canadian groups to break through and go national my point in case April Wine and Sheriff it took both bands years to gain any substantial success but when they struck out they struck it big. With Sheriff of course they re-released theirs as a single and that's when it went straight to number 1 almost a decade after the original came out. It's very sad that this band didn't really take off they are a very talented band and man the stamina they're still going today!
@Johnsrocknvinyl77 That's what I always noticed about Canadian bands. They were just as good if not better than the American and UK bands, but they never couldn't catch a break like the other two countries.
Hey kid, I was a fledging teen in the 80s. My generation is better then you crap of a generation. Back then people spoke differntly, people had differnt attitdudes. People where much nicer, unlike today theres all evil in the world.. Everything was better back then, such as music, televison, and movies. Back then music had heart and soul, with awsomeness and muscle. Your generation doesn't know how to make music, its a differnt sound back then. Your generation music is computer rigged, autotune bull shit. Today its about, money, looks, and fame, with no talent. If I had a time machine I'd go back to the 60s, 70s, 80s and stay there.
I look back, and can't help thinking, it wasn't so bad now that time has passed. It's funny how you change and rearrange, but it just won't last. Time after time I wish that I had called you Time after time Oh, but I let you get away. She's gone, she's gone I never realized what I had until she was gone. She's gone, and she's never coming back never coming back. I found a picture of you and me, it brought back a flood of memories. I try to forget, I try to erase But it just won't last. Time after time I thought I wouldn't need you. Time after time and now I spend my nights alone. She's gone, she's gone I never realized what I had until she was gone. She's gone, and she's never coming back never coming back. I can't forget The time we had together She's gone In dreams I call your name I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's gone, she's gone I never realized what I had until she was gone. She's gone, and she's never coming back never coming back
remember listening 2 this on tommy vances friday nite rock show in 85 or 86 when i was 15 years old still a fukin great song and a great distinctive singer
Looked for tapes / archives of Friday Rock Show - no luck... Got a few fragments on tapes but nothing complete - I don’t think they’re available anywhere ?
Sounds like a Survivor band with the singer Dave Bickle. Coney Hatch is one of the finest AOR groups from Canada. They deserved to be more recognized, bigger rock band with more successful career.
Man Coney Hatch is really good, i'm gonna have to breakdown & pull them from my lp collection (i think i have 2 or 3 lp's from this band) & really get to know them, i have SOOO many records in my collection that i have never got around to playing yet BUT i bought them over time because i KNEW just by reading some of the credits on their album & just simply seeing how they look i know it's up my alley & sure enough just by listening to this killer song by this killer band i knew i would like them.
Never heard of this band till I was record shopping and found this album and said "what the heck I'll try them out" Really love this band.. Checkout their newest song Blown away They still got it
Coney Hatch are very underrated as are a whole lot of Canadian and European bands. They were more popular up north in their home country and just like so much great music we passed on them down here. Why? Stupity!
Canadian bands don't get the radio exposure they need to rise to fame. It's very expensive for them to 'work' south of the border due to all the fees. Helix, Triumph, Lee Aaron and Killer Dwarfs are a few examples of awesome bands who could BARELY make a living doing this, compared to US bands making millions...
VERY SURVIVORish - and that's a compliment (obviously), Never heard of this band before (I'm here from someones mix) but I'm definitely gonna check them out further. Good stuff.
Point being too those younger ...the parents where right. time does go by quickly and if u waste it on being stoned, hiding away from love and have no desires or goals besides making money, you will be a bitter old man with a pile of money and nothing to remember what your life really meant...Hey but as i said for what its worlth...times does fly ..
@abigail730435 Ah, a great Era, I used to love sitting up with the Friday Rock show, found so many great bands on there, these, Y&T, Coney Hatch, The Honeymoon Suite etc

Trust me. I've heard a lot of them

I'm gonna be 50 this year myself (2024) and completely agree that 80s music is the best.
I totally agree 😎 and I am 62
Great Canadian rock
This song takes me back to my first love, someone I haven't stopped thinking about for 40 years

One of the great canadians bands of the 80s. Beautiful song.

So many memories... My brother in-law and sister, cruising in my 1970 El Camino. They're both gone now, but the music brings them back.

Saw them the summer of '83 with Fastway and Iron Maiden. Always felt they were underappreciated.
