Same here, almost. My mini 6 (256GB, cellular) is sort of a companion for my M1 Pro 11” (256GB, wifi only, external 1TB sandisk drive). A companion in the way that I use my Pro as the workhorse because it has the Magic Keyboard for iPad attached. So laborious typing is done there and the mini 6 is in an Apple Folio for quick jotting or watching a RUclips video while following along on the Pro. What isn't mentioned here about the icarez screen protector is that it creates a horrible grain effect on your screen that almost looks rainbowish during to the light emitting from your screen. I don't recommend.

@Jerry Schulze hmm the fact that you don't have the effect is interesting cause that's really my main complaint. In darker areas of the screen you can't see it, but anything that's colored or white it's very noticeable.

First than anything, thanks for the amazing review! Though, I have a question since I am a bit confused about a couple of things: This would be my first iPad ever and I am looking for portability, so I am taking my decision between iPad Mini 6 and iPad Air, but one of the things that concerns me the most about the Mini (which is my most likely choice due to its portability), is that the device is way too limited when it's about a keyboard (which I would use sometimes, not always cause I would use it like a media consumer 80% of the time), since I've read in different forums and websites that the Magic Keyboard cannot be connected to it do to its lack of ports. So, what do you guys recommend? iPad Mini or iPad Air?
i also bought xbox controller to use with my ipad, but this controller isnt supported on some games. doesnt work with Lep's World, Blockykong, Ghost jumpers games on ipad :(

I use an M1 12.9 with keyboard/track right now and use the Quick Note all the time, (And having bought the M1, good reason not to upgrade Mini at this time though using it for notetaking is tempting). USBc is also tempting-I use externals with USBc hub. Good video with options.
Would it be fine to get the 64gb rather than the 256gb and use an external hard drive for added space? Or doesn’t the external hard drives limit you in what your able to store/ transfer? For the extra money to go from 64-256 you could get a pretty big HD. Thanks In advance!

@@JerrySchulze I guess that’s the crux, huh? I want my cake and eat it too.. I want the portability of the mini w the big screen option of the display . But I’ll probably go for the ‘11 pro because when it comes down to it , those screens are mainly for presentations. When I’m working on music recording production apps , with the mini , I’d still have to bee squinting all the time because the mini drives the display . I do love the idea of sitting on the bus and holding up the mini to my face though, lol. I guess the real answer to your question is “11.. If I had the mini I might get a 17.3 display
I was on the same boat as you 3 weeks ago and decided to go with the 11” iPad Pro because of the 120 Hz display. I’ve gotta say the 11” is the perfect size for a tablet since it’s not heavy as the 12.9 and not too small as the mini.
Hi Jerry. I've watched quite a number of your videos and they're really helpful! Thanks! However, do you mind to share if this ipad (since it uses the USB C) can be connected (directly or indirectly) to a mic for recording purposes? I'm thinking of using this during data collection (research), so I wonder if I can write the interview answers while recording the interview, at the same time with this one device. Thanks, Jerry!
i've only just read this. i record instruments and vocals directly into my iPad mini 6 and it will work fine buy the rode usb c mic it's all i use now. no need for a studio booth, i put my iPad in a rapper's face then watch his brain explode because it doesn't make sense 😁🔊 but it does 😏
I wish they did a better job of scaling the size of the icons and fonts to better take advantage of the extra real estate. In my experience, the mini is not better than an iphone pro max. I get little to no extra value from the mini than the large display iphone.

I teach online and got the mini 6 cellular as a backup after yet one more power outage lost me a class, even with UPS on both computer and modem/router, I can now run my Chinese education software and be independent of main computer, Of course it is amazing for all kinds of other things as mentioned. It is so much bigger than a cell phone, but no more trouble to hold. it s amazing.
Hy , ipad mini 6 not available in your buy link , please share the available link
Sorry to hear that, If the Amazon link does not work I would check another retailer.
Hey Man!
Just wanted to know if the external hard drive issue of iPad pro m1 is solved or not
Thinking about getting the iPad pro m1 128gb and to use my 500gb SSD
If you get time
please let me know🖤
i use a trackpad 2 with my mini when working. it’s also got a logitech keys to go keyboard and that is how i run the business.
it’s obviously relative as you said, and everyone has different needs!
this device has replaced my 13 pro completely now. best product i’ve bought since the MBP M1 2020
omg and USB C
i’ll never buy another product with stupid lighting
Does the iPad mini 6 mini that you have experiencing any screen distortion when you apply small amount of the pressure with the Apple Pencil? Does the screen protector help or no?
Thank you so much for the advice and tricks for the new IPad mini 6th Gen…..
But, do have a solution less expensive than the Apple Pencil 2nd ?! Another Pencil from another brand for example?!?!
Many thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Do glass screen protectors leave fingerprints?
More so than the built-in glass because the oleophobic coating is not as good.
They haven’t for me. I use Esr glass screen protector’s.
@@janeS9773 Nice. So nothing noticible? I’ve used screen protectors in the past and stopped cause they had more fingerprints than the actual screen. That was years ago though so not sure how they’ve changed
Great video
Thanks!
Does Touch ID work to open the iPad mini 6?
I think so. I saw that when he was setting it up his finger was on top and there was the Touch ID finger scan screen on it.
How do you get an iPad mini to see an external ssd? I bought a Sandisc Extreme 2Tb SSD usb c, and haven’t found how to enable the mini 6 to see the drive.
Great and thanks a lot
I’ve watched this video so many times trying to make up my mind. I eventually ended up getting the trackpad and a foldable keyboard. I just need to be portable!! Ps. I love all your facial expressions haha.
lol thank!
Its not supporting using the surround headphones ever with having the apple aux adaptor! Did you experience this in you ipad mini? Please help if you have idea
New sub. Good stuff. Waiting for my iPad mini and MacBook Pro max
nice!
Trying to decide between an iPad Pro 11’ or the mini with an extension monitor .
How large of a display do you want when not connected?

Nice!
''if they died today, id buy a new pair TODAY'' lmaooo i wish life was that easy for everyone.
Can we get a keyboard case for the mini ipad?
get a zugu case and attach a bluetooth keyboard to it
Thanks, Jerry!
i've only just read this. i record instruments and vocals directly into my iPad mini 6 and it will work fine
buy the rode usb c mic it's all i use now. no need for a studio booth, i put my iPad in a rapper's face then watch his brain explode because it doesn't make sense 😁🔊
but it does 😏

Hey! Umm, are you Jerry? Our neighbor here in Siargao? Hahahahaha
Yep! I am everyone’s favorite tech neighbor!

Struggling to understand, your logic about the mini with the keyboard and trackpad might as well just carry an 11 inch iPad Pro at that point.
I wish they did a better job of scaling the size of the icons and fonts to better take advantage of the extra real estate. In my experience, the mini is not better than an iphone pro max. I get little to no extra value from the mini than the large display iphone.
Mostly correct.
