Dude I 100% lucked up on taming lox way early. We hadn’t even fought Bonemass yet. I scouted the Huge island solo. Spotted the telltale stone fingers of the Final boss spawn. Went ashore & ran to take the nearby skel keep on the edge of the plains/swamp. Then I poked outside in stealth in my full troll set. About 45+15=60 sneak. I managed to club a deathsquito out of the air as it attacked. So I come around a huge head-shaped rock, I’m picking cloudberries… and there are 2x2-Star Lox. I ran back & jumped atop the rock. Whew. Safe for now… But I never picked up the last cloudberry I picked. Just out of range for auto-loot. And I saw a heart fly up. Wth? So I threw my stack of cloudberries down between the 2 lox. I very nervously stayed there, sniping or smacking squitoes, enjoying my two bodyguards killing goblins… for 2 day cycles until they were mine. And then they popped a baby the next day… Now I have a tamed herd spread out all over the area, protecting my now moat & hoe unbreakable base. Taming ftw!

Thank you for your Lox taming and breeding video. I have tamed three Lox in the wild by throwing food at them and ran to a high point I built with the Hoe to build a small base and they have grown to a large herd now. I am having trouble taming three more Lox on a small Island and I moved my tame Lox over to the wild ones. It seems that tame Lox dont help tame wild Lox, have you found this??
I have also found that Fuling mobs can easily kill tame Lox with fire and repeated hits but two or more Lox easily kill Fuling mobs. So I think that I might ride about six or more upto a Fulling village to destroy it after I have dropped some Ooze Bombs in it to lower the Fuling's health and make it easy for the Lox to kill all the Fulings, Fuling Shamans and brutes. What this work, can you test this in a video please? The only problem with this idea is that Lox, however, have trouble dealing with Deathquitoes. Deathquistoes are too quick for the Lox to react to them and often get frighten then flee with the Deathquito repeatably stinging them. Lox can only kill them if the Deathquito unlucky enough to fly into the the Lox mouth or under them. I usually shoot or melee the Deathquitoes and leave the Fulings to the Lox. Have you foun dthis? I have been stung by a Deathquito while riding a Lox but if I stand up the Deathquito targets the Loz instead; Have you this too? Thank You for your Valheim video. CheersAndHappiness
True! I had a 3 fire village near my lox base. Once they bred a bunch & spread out, my 2 stars stomped the crap out of it. I drew the big dudes out by arrow snipes & he & his entourage got crushed by the several Lox in the area. Almost like I planned that. Lol. One guy waded in there and eventually got put down. I sniped a shaman to death from afar while they were all focused on that lox. Later another one of my lox got pissed and stomped the rest of the village to death. I had to snipe the tower dudes to barely save him. My hero.

I started with two Lox and keep breeding them till my herd is now thirty. I let them roam around my base. They attack anything that spawns or travels into their area except wild Lox. Drop food between two hungry lox and they will both move to the food. Eating makes them happy and will heal them and since they are close to each one or both may get pregnant. You can also push them together so they breed. The babies do not eat but are easy to push. Try to keep them near adults so the adults will protect them. The babies are pretty fast. Their biggest threat are deathsquitos. Every once in awhile I will find the ones who have wandered a bit too far and saddle them and ride them back to the base. I f they get killed they leave meat and hide.
Yes, placing the saddle on a hotbar slot and using it while looking at the Lox equips the saddle, looking at the saddle and pressing Shift+E will remove it.
After tamed, how much food per day for the pair is required for them to breed? Using the sneaking and taming in the wild method, do you need to continue to feed them?
I tested quite a few times and was able to get babies with only 12m separation. The speed might go up however at 20m, so it could still be worth it to spread them out more!

Based on my testing at the time the video was made, they only eat food from the Plains.
