    I own the short and deep sets of both Standard and Metric from HF and have beat the hell out of them for years and nothing has happened. I also wanted to try something cheap for our RV too, so I got some deep Metric and Standard impacts from Tractor Supply Company and I have been impressed so far! There are no skips and I even go out and grab them for other jobs or customer builds and they have held up perfectly! The reason I'm so amazed is because they're even cheaper than the HF ones and don't skip sizes!

    Thanks for the video. I am shopping for deep sockets for my truck for RV Trailer, Tire Lug Nuts and want to have a case to contain the sockets. I do agree it would be good to have all the sockets, but I want to be able to identify them at a glance. Thanks again for your video!

    Great sockets, i've had them for years and have the same "complaints". For the skipped 11 &12 i use my chrome sockets as well..i don't see the point of 1/2" drive for fasteners that small. I used stick on numbers from the dollar store and spray paint to make it easier to identify the sockets.

    I use these professionally and they are great. One thing about the sizes skipping is like since it skips 16mm you could sub 5/8 because it’s nearly the same if not the same size also so that’s a good thing you have both sets.

    • @colinsview
      @colinsview  4 года назад +2

      I only have the deeps at home because I mainly use them for lug nuts and suspension, for the DIYer you can always take an extra few minutes and use a chrome socket on a ratchet if you need the extra space for a shallow socket

    • @eVerProductions1
      @eVerProductions1 2 года назад

      @@anthonynoronha577 are you sure? I’m gonna google this but why would impact sockets be softer if they’re used for “impact” so they should be able to handle the torque without warping

    • @anthonynoronha577
      @anthonynoronha577 2 года назад

      @@eVerProductions1 absolutely positive, if they were a hardened steel they would be more brittle and break instead of absorbing the energy. Had a co worker using a chrome socket on an impact unfortunately it shattered while using and had a piece of the socket lodged in his face just under his eye. No he wasn’t wearing safety glasses so could have been much worse.

    • @FahimibnDawud
      @FahimibnDawud 2 года назад

      @@eVerProductions1 They are slightly softer steel, but that's the entire point. I dunno why he's saying be cautious.. I know guys who don't even own chromes and use impacts for literally everything. These don't really deform.. that was mostly a thing back in the early 2000s for some reason. Chrome are made harder because they are made for slower applications of torque, as it helps them remain stronger.
