Man, imagine if I, an Australian, could pay a certain amount per month like I used to to watch the full episode. Unfortunately, there's no way this could possibly happen. Thanks Rupert Murdoch.
Yep it's Frieburger's signature! Sleeper dude here on u tube does tge same thing always wearing thong sandals....flirting with disaster living on the edge..hot rod glory!
You heard him he wants to hit every track in california. I was just watching along when he mentioned being in Lompoc and it blew me away because I have only heard that name mentioned may be once in the 50 years Ive been away from good ole Lompoc which was a lot like the movie American Gravity back in my day . There was a hand full or two of some nice rides and rods. Cruisin was about all there was other than your sports teams , And the weekend hops at the Legion. Sadly no dragstrip the nearest was in Santa Maria some (Im guessing) what 40 50 miles away. Was not a bad place to live and go to school though, I have some great memories and a few friends left out there and here I am now returning there with my favorite online friends. How about that!!!
My first car was '56 Belaire 2dr sedan. Brings back many good memories. Started with a 235 inline six and stuck in a set of solid lifters on the stock cam. Running the old 3 speed and 3.70 rear gears It would run low 16s all day. Later went to 301 and then 327 but just drove it on the street then. Can't remember how many synchronizers and spider gears I destroyed. Would do it all over again!
I’ve been eyeballing a move up there from the Bay Area. Took a trip up last November and was happy to see a number of nice classics cruising. And of course I drove out to Somoa to check out the track.
One thing about those bronze puck type clutch disks it really helps if you seat them in before you go to the track otherwise they just don't work that well, also definitely had that same problem like you guys with the throw out bearing. Yeah it definitely blows chunks when that happens at the track😢
You need to mic the bell housing to make sure its square with the block and centered with the transmission, any thing that is out of line will toast that throw out bearing. That is their Achilles heel.
David, I raced 55 Chevy back in the late 80's, at Hawaii Raceway Park. All I had was a 327 a mincie 4 speed a gigantic 55 Oldsmobile rear end with 410 gears welded spiders and Axle front end. I'd launch off the line at 6000 rpm. Believe me, you will test your parts, but I ran mid to low 10s. You gotta work up the nerve to pound the gears...balls to the walls.
I hope you guys had lunch or dinner at the Samoa Cookhouse. I'm assuming that it still has good food, but it's been many years since I've eaten there. I always thought that I'd be able to run my '67 Camaro at Samoa, but it never happened.
Great episode it was too short but better than nothing, you guys are awesome nice little 56 hope you take it out and play with it some more, i hate that style of throw out berring
My question is ; where did ya go wrong with the first throw out bearing ? Did you have the wrong number of shims , or got the wrong measurement the first time, or is that bearing prone to hyper extension ?
haven't seen you guys do a 3/4 1 ton 16 bolt 4 link swap on a car? 9''ers only have 1_1/4 shafts a bandaid to the 8.8's upgraded 7.5, dana's got the 1_5/8.
i'm sure they're rushed for time and on whoever's schedule that hands them free parts...but...you got the car on a lift, tools a'plenty, and when faced with a driveshaft yoke that is obviously ready to go (and may damage the transmission as well), the plan is to ignore the problem and fix it at a more inconvenient time and location? i hear my late father's voice warning, "the best way to solve any problem is to not allow it to happen in the first place". the funny part is how often Roadkill had to insist, "we don't make up the drama"
the reaso0n you ywisted the inner teeth on the drive shaft ix because its too short how you didnt snap it doing passes i dint know but dragging with driveshaft like that is dicey at best dicey
The are not worth the trouble and a headache to replace. The best is a mechanical/cable fork setup 2nd best is an externally mounted slave that actuates the fork. Those two options are much easier to fix if something goes wrong.
So many hyd throwout bearings are garbage.. and a headache to replace. mechanical fork or a fork with an external hydraulic actuator is a far better system.
I'm not a mechanic and this is a serious question why don't they just make the grooves or the teeth bigger so they don't bend or just make the whole block made out of tungsten Steel LOL
Freiburger, I believe we could be great friends in real life with our crossover of experience, but my dogs can't stand your voice on my computer! Makes it really difficult to follow you!!
I love Dulcich. Just seeing him around makes me smile. Him and Freiburger are great energy. 🤙
Thanks for the crumbs MT.
its fantastic not being able to watch full episodes in australia and being teased with crappy clips
I wonder if the red MSD box dangling by its own wires under the dash have anything to do with the “ignition” problems
Man, imagine if I, an Australian, could pay a certain amount per month like I used to to watch the full episode.

What did Rupert do? Also would like to watch full episodes
Get yourself a VPN,
That’s how I subscribe to the channel.
Yeah...those bloody yanks and their foreign policies.😂 I too was once a paid subscriber.
Simply move here. Mexicans are already here so we have decent food now.
tried that but it realises if the payment comes from outside america@@theworkshopmechanicchannel3296
I am no fan of hydraulic clutches but a huge fan of Samoa Drag Strip. It's a very cool place, even in summer they get that cool breeze
Looking forward to getting my 56 two ten going this summer! I've had it since 1977 my first car.😊
Working on cars in sandals always cracks me up !
He's my spirit animal. Shorts, t shirt, sandals and high octane cologne
Safety sandals
I don't think I've ever seen shoes on his feet 😂
Yep it's Frieburger's signature! Sleeper dude here on u tube does tge same thing always wearing thong sandals....flirting with disaster living on the edge..hot rod glory!
Pay attention to what you are doing. Situational awareness. The opposite of accident prone.
Jesus was a carpenter and he wore sandles.
PPE SUCKS!!
Samoa's a great track. Was just there last fall for the Redwood Rally. Will be back this year again!
I've seen these guys do some sketchy stuff, but being under that cat with no locking tabs is just dumb.
I L O V E a 56 Chevy! Love watching you guys!
CONGRATES !!! YOU PRONOUNCED LOMPOC CORRECTTLY!!!!!
If the drive shaft is too short on the engagement to the trans output shaft it will twist the splines on the shaft...
Frieburger keeping " ol dads " memory alive with the shorts and flip-flops. Now let's drink some clear.
Grey was a card ! Great old skool icon taken from us faithful without our permission.
I seen where dulcich was using a red aluminum valve spring compressor would like to know where you got that love your show keep it up
We have a strip up here in Redding Ca. Cool April Nights is a fun event that will be coming up. Would be cool to see all up here sometime.

please fix those locks. One thing that bothers me at shops is lift safety

Dang I missed out. Thats my home town track!!!!!! Samoa drag in good old Humboldt County
I’ve been eyeballing a move up there from the Bay Area. Took a trip up last November and was happy to see a number of nice classics cruising. And of course I drove out to Somoa to check out the track.
@glennsouthard9208 its an amazing place we got out down falls like any other place.
These guys are my heroes
That looks like a fun car to drive!!!
Burger and dolce are absolute Gods... Good work brothers
Awesome 56 I watch every single video keep the videos coming

amazing shifting until he missed 4th. love it.
Awesome Job Boys!!!!! Freiburger was awesome just seeing the field car FLYYYY!!!!!!!
Good stuff! Enjoyed that one.

MSD box hinging by the wires swinging in the wind.😆
I love this build…it’s so 60s drag it’s amazing like a super stock manual or sum !
Great episode it was too short but better than nothing, you guys are awesome nice little 56 hope you take it out and play with it some more, i hate that style of throw out berring
I applaud you for building a car with 3 pedals!
That's why I loved the cougar..it had a 4 speed and wasn't the usuall chevy content.
Water might not burn, but moisture in the air increases the mass flow through the carburetor venturi and enriches the mixture.
If im see things right that soma out here i. Humbold,ca just out side of erueka ,ca
You mean just like it states in the video title?
Awesome Ride!!
Love those tri-5’s
This is awesome! My hometown track!
Great video, guys!
I want to see this vs blashemi vs newberns 57!!
I want to see blasphemi vs. 15:00 Newberns 57 vs. Frieburgers 56
Blasphemi is running 8s at the track. I doubt either of the other two stand much of a chance.
She sounds awesome screaming down the track!!!
Sounds great!
That's my local strip!
Good to know Samoa is still operating.
That car sound great!
David I have to ask why nobody in the big money car community is helping your friend Steve out????
1) Tighten compression on rear shocks 2) Loosen rebound on front shocks 3) PUSH IN THE CLUTCH at the end of a run so you don't stretch the rod bolts!
put in lighter rear quarter windows to reduce drag and lower the suspension from letting it bounce up and down Freiburger
Love the field car 👍👍
Why didn't I see spacers when you took out the old throw out bearing?
That's my local drag strip! Got damnit I wish I would have known
Isn't hymid air more dense? I thought water injection was a thing?
Water injection is usually to help prevent detonation
Humid air is LESS dense. Water injection lowers temperatures to make the air MORE dense
Hymid?
WHich McLeoud clutch did you use?
Hey GM roadkill I enjoy the show u host I love video so cool nice and good one great job in a bless day
Dave beating himself up over miasing 4th 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My question is ; where did ya go wrong with the first throw out bearing ?
Did you have the wrong number of shims , or got the wrong measurement the first time, or is that bearing prone to hyper extension ?
Wrong bearing, somehow. Whoever did the measuring either got their numbers wrong, or overestimated the bearing's capacity for extension.
What mufflers are on that thing? Sounds great!!!
Sounds like open headers, to me...
What is exsacly wise😊?
haven't seen you guys do a 3/4 1 ton 16 bolt 4 link swap on a car? 9''ers only have 1_1/4 shafts a bandaid to the 8.8's upgraded 7.5, dana's got the 1_5/8.
What's the chances they broke in the clutch?
Fix your drive shaft Pinon angle the drive shaft would be long enough
So you measured wrong the first time ? Or you didn't check at all ?
It's still fun watching you Goobers. 😅
i'm sure they're rushed for time and on whoever's schedule that hands them free parts...but...you got the car on a lift, tools a'plenty, and when faced with a driveshaft yoke that is obviously ready to go (and may damage the transmission as well), the plan is to ignore the problem and fix it at a more inconvenient time and location? i hear my late father's voice warning, "the best way to solve any problem is to not allow it to happen in the first place".
the funny part is how often Roadkill had to insist, "we don't make up the drama"
Look like it has plenty of clearance between the yoke and trans, needs 1" of travel only...
live these videos
Very nice
Man too much fun
the reaso0n you ywisted the inner teeth on the drive shaft ix because its too short how you didnt snap it doing passes i dint know but dragging with driveshaft like that is dicey at best dicey
Each time my brother's 56 would pull into the garage our dad said the tools would hide
I have a big block Chevy Can anyone tell me what the suffix code C6Z means I can't find it in these code books
better use outer slave cylinder or cable ones no problems there
No thanks, just will stick with the old school fork setup............
Just thinking the same, I think that's put me off that system. No push rod to adjust.
Needs a bit of paint. IMHO, sometimes " less is more" just doesn't work - sometimes. How about a home garage DIY paint job on your deserving car...
#noPaint
Working under a car on a lift without functional locking tabs is not exactly wise.
They had jackstands (off camera)
About like working in flip flops.
Have you never seen ROADKILL before ?
They do actually have a structure bar you can see.
You must have a hydraulic throw out bearing?
The are not worth the trouble and a headache to replace. The best is a mechanical/cable fork setup 2nd best is an externally mounted slave that actuates the fork. Those two options are much easier to fix if something goes wrong.
SOME..REALLY BAD SHIFTING, NO POWER SHIFTS, NO COOL CAN IN ON A HOT DAY. MIGHT WANT TO LEARN HOW TO SHIFT..'CALL RONNIE SOX!!! LOL
That bouncing off the Lind and most of the way down the track probably didn't help your time either.
My land lord james throws drag bike race there.
Yoke must be too long.
I'll take the fork vs the fancy ctob. I can change the slave in 10 minutes vs removing the trans.
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air
Love it
Ceramic is great at the expense of flywheel wear.
Take the blower from the Impala and stick it on this !!!!!
Cool ride: Now, put on some shoes!
Race the 56 vs Blasphemi
I'm sure that if you get the right outside help it will run 11s on a 1\8th mile track.
The smaller splines are actually stronger because there is more of them which means more surface area more contact area
Rookie mistake - You have to Preheat the oven or stuff will burn.
I wish
That was an expensive episode. Next one they were pulling the engine……..
If the car ran around 125, it should go around 11.20 et. There...
Cheated up intake bolts letting air like nascar
I need a Guinea pig ?
55 are faster
Sophisticated ?
If you type too much and break a nail, that's not wise either 😊
Freiburger, I believe we could be great friends in real life with our crossover of experience, but my dogs can't stand your voice on my computer! Makes it really difficult to follow you!!
