I want to know what is wrong with me reminiscing about the past. Is there something wrong with not liking d3 and remembering how much I enjoyed D1 and D2? I think not.
yeah i dont understand this... when i was a kid all games were made for grown up ppl - hard, scary and complicated. now everything is the opposite. they are making the games for kids
The "ENOUGH!" as it echo's still gives me chills. I don't understand why Blizzard has forsaken the dark and grittiness of their old games (sc bw and d1-2) for family friendly fun games. I still have fun, but I grew up on the darkness of their games in which now as I am older crave it and don't get it :(
One of the best video game in history, and one of the best cinematic in video game history. Even the dub in other languages is perfect. So glad i can see it in HD now.
Honestly I’ll always prefer this one over the new one. I always appreciated the white, like Baal was attempting to imitate the archangel’s wings. Or the feminine beauty of his face while the rest of his body was horrific. Even the little, subtle movements of his shoulders and fingers are all destroyed in the Resurrection cinematic. Honestly…they didn’t need to reinvent the wheel. His original design was perfection.
My favorite Diablo 2 related thing was the advert that showed the barbarian trimming the hedges with a battle axe n' the sorcerous running down the street with a jogging pam. lol good stuff
The biggest difference D2 had from D3, was that they put huge effort on building the character of the devils. You can see this from the fact that the game's launcher had devil faces as the icon. Just like the Dark Night was a great film because of the Joker. In D3, the devils are way too talkative, which makes them friendly and foolish.
Wait, now that I can see the finer details, (which were extremely hard to see in the original game due to pixelation, even on the highest settings), I noticed an Orc running among the demons, did Blizz North really reused Warcraft's models for this cinematic?! Edit: Yes, its an Orc, 3:48 paused at the right moment.
I still think the Runeword mechanic was the best. The higher tier runes were difficult to acquire, but even masses of low-tier runes still were a stepping stone toward them. It let you progress without having to rely so heavily on just plain luck.
Why did they send this guy out in the first place? Did they think he could honestly turn Baal away? Did they think Baal would go "huh, when you put it that way, maybe I will turn around..."
#ThisIsMyDiablo - not that anime bubblegum trainwreck Diablo 3/Diablo Immortal. When will you listen to your fans, Blizzard? You can still save this franchise. Get back into the aesthetic of your almost 20 years old masterpiece.
Always thought this one was a bit underwhelming, coming from the dark and ominous cutscenes of vanilla D2. The destruction of the world stone at the end of the expansion -- although visually impressive at the time -- also felt like a letdown with Tyrael simply throwing a sword at it after some intense meditation.
@@gogawa32 Naw, wasn’t as good. Baal didn’t have the sassiness in his movements from the original. He seemed more stiff. Didn’t have quite the affect and I was disappointed.
The quality of this is much better than the in-game cinematic resolution. Might have my conspiracy flickers on but this cinematic has been up-scaled from the original raw footage they made 20 years ago. Could this be 1 step towards some kind of remaster?
I'm gathering the non-surprise surprise is both D and DII are going to be getting remade using the DIII engine or something like that? Also, just what happened to all those Worldstone shards after it exploded? You've got the makings of a whole bunch of side stories if those pieces ended up on other worlds... including one or two that have never had a Prime Evil pop in for a visit... just a thought.
The music in this one, specially the last part. Wonder if there's anything like it. Also, this was when exansionpacks were actually cool. DLC is the plague of this world.
It finally just struck me odd after watching this for the umpteenth times over the years. But HOW did those doors open and close with NO visible Barbarians around manning their gates..??
So this dude was the king, but when he died they appointed Kanai as the new king. Baal destroyed the city and when Kanai fell in battle, they placed his body on the Immortal Throne becoming the second Immortal King.
I remember watching this the first time and thinking it was amazing. Now it seems to be a bit dated or something as it isn't quite as I remember it to be. It had a huge affect on me the first time I saw it and I couldn't wait to play it after seeing it.
We went from this to villains like Belial and Azermoth or whatever that bloated waste of time was called lol. Way to go Blizzard, you couldn't have failed harder if you tried.
When is release date? This trailer being uploaded now must be an announcement of the remake right? No reason to wait this long and then randomly upload it lol.
This was so fun to watch as a little kid.
Poor guy. Pretty brave though. He knew he was dead the moment the doors closed.
blizzard.. how about making a diablo movie in cinema? I bet millions of fans would be excited to watch it
amazncy that's what we said about warcraft. then no one seen it.
Lockmaster g well, it was pretty average, not that great of a film
you sure about that?
The Warcraft movie were mixed reactions, so I doubt it would happen.
sadly it won't work well. especially because of the religious freaks would condemn such a movie
They made D1 and D2 so dark. But D3 is a light show with the bad guy from power rangers.
jesus, does this have to come op every single time? everyone have already heard that for years now, and it just annoying to hear this now.
It's not going to stop
It's not going to change either, so you can give up already
I want to know what is wrong with me reminiscing about the past. Is there something wrong with not liking d3 and remembering how much I enjoyed D1 and D2? I think not.
@gustav, that because it's true.
Best Diablo game ever!! Thanks Blizzard for this masterpiece. I hope you go back to this dark athmosphere in a future Diablo game
Yes, thanks to Blizzard North..
Are you implying that D3 doesn't have a dark atmosphere?
it's a dark cartoon tbh. the game is fun and the story is nice, but it lacks the complexity that Diablo II had.
Langelus yeah i mean that
thank to blizzard north as one guy said... not to the current blizzard
Baal waving off his own echo is the single most badass thing I've ever seen.
Scary creepy game vs kiddy games of today.
yeah i dont understand this... when i was a kid all games were made for grown up ppl - hard, scary and complicated. now everything is the opposite. they are making the games for kids
well, whats wrong with that? Do adults or kids spend more time playing games? inb4 'stfu kid'
the problem is that ppl want some kind of challenge. the game need to have some depth and complexity like d2 and poe. it makes it more interesting
Then play Dark Souls jfc
Martin Ivanov i agree with that... but that has nothing to do with what was said earlier about the graphics...
MAKE DIABLO GREAT AGAIN
MAKE DIABLO PC AGAIN
@@MrAntAve "Do you guys not have phones?"
@Fred Hampshire it's too cartoony, not happy with it
Do u guys not have updated this crappy comment the diablo II remake came out and it rocks

I just love how Baal must be sitting there as the emissary talks like, "Are you guys seeing this? Check out the balls on this dude!"
Diablo 2 was legendary. Hope the 4th game (if possible) would be more like this game.
I'm afraid you are not in luck
i have some really condensating bad news to inform..
aaaaaaaaaaaand it's mobile 😂😂😂
I have come from the future to announce Diablo IV's arrival. It's more like Diablo II than the 3rd
nah, that is impossible for current Blizzard
So much better than the remastered version. The mannerisms and the art just fits.
this one is a LOT better than the new one
This cinematic is amazing but it is in no way better than the new one. The D2R cinematics are absolutely amazing
My favorite Diablo cinematic to this day!
One of the best video game in history, and one of the best cinematic in video game history. Even the dub in other languages is perfect.
So glad i can see it in HD now.

lmfao

A lot of the small mannerisms here make it superious to the remaster in my opinion, it just has a lot more character to it.
I like it's color a lot of better.
I've never played this but I love how Baal just destroys this guy.
"Well, it seems your terms... are not acceptable!!! Ahahahahhahahah!"
John Canary well, then you NEED to play this, you won't be disappointed
You have missed a lot, my friend.
Diablo II.... i miss you so far....
I always gave that guard a lot of credit. Even in the face of certain death he bit his thumb at the LoD.
Blizzard guy: Do you g
Baal: Enough!
Some of the character designs ... Kinda seem better than in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Baal looks like less of a clown here.
Diablo 4 is looking promising.
just kidding. I love you, Blizzard.
Many things I enjoy about this more than resurrection

This looks amazing in HD, you can see detail in Baal's face you simply do not see in the original cutscene!!!
"The time has come to cleanse my homeland..."
Barbarian - 2008
Wait, now that I can see the finer details, (which were extremely hard to see in the original game due to pixelation, even on the highest settings), I noticed an Orc running among the demons, did Blizz North really reused Warcraft's models for this cinematic?!
Edit: Yes, its an Orc, 3:48 paused at the right moment.
Oh no, asset reuse, unplayable.
superghost6
Oh no, an imbecile on the comments!
The OST of this cinematic was so wild, it had me spooked and hooked as a kid.
ENOUGH!! Brilliant sound design. Sounds so otherworldly.
this right here is the best cinematic along with arthas regicide/patricide one, blizz has ever produced. instant classic.
Idk. Even though the expansion was a let down, the Panda cinematic was quite fantastic.
16 years had passed. Yeap, still cool.
This is better.
I played and play all blizzard games, huge fan, and this is the best creation by far. The perfect game.
One of the GOATs!
I still think the Runeword mechanic was the best. The higher tier runes were difficult to acquire, but even masses of low-tier runes still were a stepping stone toward them. It let you progress without having to rely so heavily on just plain luck.
Blizzard female employee: Alex please don't sexually assault me
Alex Afrasiabi: It seems your terms are not acceptable
Better quality than the new necromancer cinematic.
It's been so many years since I've seen this
Baal sama! lol put him in hots pls
this was best animatics back in days for its time...same like warcraft 3
Blizzard North > Acti-Blizzard

Diablo 2! best game ever! We want a remastered version of this masterpiece!
We will in 2 weeks!
Got him with a chaos bolt.

Yeah, I was expecting extras or something at the end of this video. I couldn't - from my memory - believe this was four minutes long.
I’m really hoping they do a remaster of this one for D2R. This is one of my favorite Blizz cinematics ever.
Your wish is granted.
And hope you satisfied.
@@gogawa32 Naw, wasn’t as good. Baal didn’t have the sassiness in his movements from the original. He seemed more stiff. Didn’t have quite the affect and I was disappointed.
I remember wincing when I watched that guy blow up years ago. 'Ohhhh, that didn't look too healthy....'
Great game
You're great too Kaley
one more thing they could release in HD is Diablo 2 teaser/trailer. I love the sound and music that video!
BRING IT BACK!!
One noticeable difference is that the guy's bodyparts flew considerably farther in this one than in the new one.
Year 2000: Diablo II
Year 2019: Diablo Immortal(Do you guys not have phones?)
Why not HD, like cinematics from D1 and D2? It's the best cinematic of the whole Diablo series.
Legendary
Name Music??
3:50??
#RIP Diablo 4.11.2016
They need to Re release this on mobile android and Apple products... it would make a Freakin killing!!!!!

You can really see how the cutscenes improved from the classic to the expansion.
If I were on Blizzard I will gonna release a DIABLO 2 (remastered) + New Expansion.
good old days, without mobile phones
Diablo 2 and 1 are the best h&s ever made, all hail to Blizzard North!
The music in this one, specially the last part. Wonder if there's anything like it.
Also, this was when exansionpacks were actually cool. DLC is the plague of this world.
Rest in Peace, my beloved.
I promise I'll be holding tight to Warcraft and DotA. :(
Why leave the bridge wide open? This question destroyed my childhood.
To be fair, the gap is small enough that they'd breach it easily either way
God i miss solo fighting Baal with my necromancer
Paul Muad'Dib vibes when Baal says ENOUGH
This one is better because his evil laugh is more pronounced after he kills that guy. In Resurrected version he barely laughs at all.
Isn't it exactly the same though?
Delusions
I still think the most fun I had with any Diablo game was climbing the mountain with my Barbarian. Hail Lilith.
I miss the talent Blizzard used to have....
The nostalgia!
It finally just struck me odd after watching this for the umpteenth times over the years. But HOW did those doors open and close with NO visible Barbarians around manning their gates..??
Baal manipulates matter by thought. He is powerful.
Do we know who that barbarian was? Was he on the council in Secheron? R.I.P.
Diablo 2 is the best
Best cinematic ever
So this dude was the king, but when he died they appointed Kanai as the new king. Baal destroyed the city and when Kanai fell in battle, they placed his body on the Immortal Throne becoming the second Immortal King.
what year is it?!
DeT Igor 2016
Wishfully thinking that all these Diablo 2 vids are them hinting towards remaking d2 soon
I remember watching this the first time and thinking it was amazing. Now it seems to be a bit dated or something as it isn't quite as I remember it to be. It had a huge affect on me the first time I saw it and I couldn't wait to play it after seeing it.
1:40 what were they thinking? Expecting Baal to be "OK then bye" and remove his forces. LMAO.
I always remember the pleasure of killing Baal after what he did to this poor old man.
Don't worry everyone... Diablo Immortal is here.
Great video!)
Why the heck didn't they retract the drawbridge?
why did they put it out to start with?
ok... my expectations are - they will upload some d3 stuff after thit. and then a new diablo cinematic about a new game. i just feel it
Announce a new game on RUclips? When has Blizzard ever done that?
Drillur
now
Now? This is Diablo II: LoD.
lol no, they're working on a new class for D3 so they won't be D4 any time soon
We went from this to villains like Belial and Azermoth or whatever that bloated waste of time was called lol. Way to go Blizzard, you couldn't have failed harder if you tried.
He sounds like the Lich from WC3 at 3:33
A reddit post that has nothing to do with a game got me here, i have no idea why but I'm vibing with it ig
When is release date? This trailer being uploaded now must be an announcement of the remake right? No reason to wait this long and then randomly upload it lol.
magnificent
All I want for Christmas.... is a Remake!
Why don't these companies make Entire Movie series or TV Show in Pre-rendered graphics
To celebrate Diablo’s 20th Anniversary we decided to give you nothing but some old cinematics.
please remaster this game
