Trying to keep the main tank constantly shielded can be a bona fide chore. So I just have the shield for the beginning of the fight, pop the fairy regen and have 3-6 burst heals ready just in case. Fairy Regen+Fairy Heals+Damage Mitigation+”Ohshitheals” will keep any tank (and party) alive. And cause any Sch to mald if *the tank doesn’t use tank stance or their own mitigations*
As someone who has mastered all tanks-I only did Paladin for the glam, Dark Knight was mastered because Shadowbringers and then out of pure obligation after learning Kentaro Miura died, Warrior because unga-bunga but I don't touch them, and Gunbreaker because I loved FF8. So... yeah, everything is pretty accurate.

Not sure if I'm too late, but, your spells are exclusive to the job you're playing (except for a few abilities that are shared between all jobs of a specific role). But you're not screwed on that, since the moment you switch back to black mage, all of your spells and hotbars are put right back where you had them last.

My dude, AST cards are split down the middle between melee and ranged. Balance, Arrow, and Spear increase damage dealt by 6% for melee (including tanks), Bole, Spire, and Ewer increase damage dealt by 6% for ranged (including casters and healers). It's been this way for two expansions now. Way back in HW and SB, the Bole was an increase to healing received and was mostly useless (it was generally just fed to Royal Road), Spire was a TP regen and Ewer was MP regen, but this joke is one of those "only the OGs understand" ones and it's not how cards have worked in years. None of them are useless anymore. Balance, Arrow, and Spear go to melee, Bole, Spire, and Ewer go to ranged, and you should be giving them out at every available opportunity.
