Medusa's story is actually much more sadder. She never dated Posidean (help spelling) She was raped by him because she rejected him and for revengeaganist Athena. And she ran to Athenas temple for help but she didnt help she instead turned her into that because Medusa was a priest at the temple meaning they have to be virgins so when Posidean raped her she wasn't one anymore and Athena ade the decision to blame it on her and turn her into the monster.
Thats why i really hate Athena and Posidean and this scene in the book because it downplays what happened although I get the book is for children so yeah but they shouldnt have made Medusa seem like a crazed ex gf and Athena seem like she did nothing wrong.
