The Helene cleanup continues....I feel ya buddy, my backyard has silver maples. I have SO MUCH DEBRIS!!! What a Mess! Tons of beanches with assorted this and that also what is up with the Hawks this year? Oh my gosh, my neighbors and I have been up in arms. They are picking off all the little babes😢! I can't take another scream, sent my hubby out to drive it away. Besides that, the Hinoki made my heart stop❤, I have always wanted one. It's going to look amazing wherever you find a new home for it. So excited for you😊 I am curious why you did a mound? I am about to plant a smaller hydrangea and I'm new to them. Killed a limelight because I wasn't confident about where to put it and left it in the container. Now I'll be deep diving .after I clean up my messy yard too. I hope you are feeling better and not worse. I feel like something is going around in the area. Stay rested and hydrated. Don't push for a Sunday shoot if you're not well yet. Your health is most important.
@@janaeshaffer266 I mounded it because I don’t want the water to settle at the stem… I want it to go to the edge of the area where the mulch/dirt ends. I have hawks living in the trees behind my greenhouse. I actually don’t hate it because I used to have a vole/mole problem and now I don’t.
@NicksBackyardBlooms ooohhhh, okay, I will keep that in mind. I am putting mine in a bed under a King Hawthorne but everything is on this hilled up area that leads up to my front door area...hopefully that makes sense. I'm thinking it will do what you intended just by how it's naturally designed already. 🤞 I see your point about the Lil Verminators. My cat fortunately 🎁 them at my porch and back deck😆
From Florida here and I definitely know I live in the wrong climate. The heat is brutal and the humidity is worse, especially on my plants. I was definitely built for cooler weather. The hurricane nearly knocked out 2 of my fruit trees and they now need support, so no judgement here on using those straps and ties. Mine look like a toddler put them together. 😊
I am fully a cool weather and rainy day person and I am a happy cheerful soul lol. We just like what we like. The hawk was so beautiful and I love the new hydrangea standard!!!
Hi Nick Definitely kindred spirits over here. Rainy days are so soothing for the soul 😊 Also cool weather over hot temps. Hello from NJ 🪴 Have a great weekend! Ava
Loved seeing that hawk. Looked like the perfect little perch for him. Also, I can relate to your love of rainy cold days! So much calm and peace in those days I find. I think they are there to slow us down which is a good thing. I like sunny days, but on the cooler side. In the 70s is perfect. I enjoyed this video, that hydrangeas standard will look beautiful. Hope you feel better soon!
Awesome video Sir. Thank you! We still have no power from Helene hitting us pretty bad. We have a lot of damage in our yard. A huge tree fell on our shed and tore the metal roof up. We finally got a generator for temporary power yesterday. The heat has been awful. I’m not complaining tho there are other people dealing with a lot worse than us. Praying for everyone affected by this storm. Now we are having issues with people breaking into homes and sheds. They are stealing generators and gas cans too. It was awesome to be able to watch a video after 6 days of no power. Thank you good start to my busy day.
Hi Nick 👋 Gardening here in zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast, we do deal with many hurricanes 🌀 and tropical storms etc. So I know your pain as far as clean up. Thank you for capturing that beautiful footage of the Stunning Hawk! I love rainy cooler days, but not to an extreme. My favorite temperature is 65-68°. Love the placement of your tree. You are such a "calming " and soft spoken person. I love it. But, sometimes I have problems hearing you good. I hope you rest up and get well soon. Thank you for sharing this video with us. 😊
Enjoyed the show. Hope you feel better soon. Love the hydrangeas. I’ve got to try that variety. Also my yard overwhelmed me when I saw all the sticks and leaves. Just thinking of all that work makes you sick. Thanks a million.
Great timing videoing that hawk. It is probably trying to just make sure all is okay after the storm. I hope it is not missing its nest or babies. Thank you for sharing the tree, I love those hydrangea trees but too high for my budget right now, maybe I will get lucky and see them on clearance. You probably just need to drink some tea and relax, don't let what the storm left behind make you anxious. Take care and keep growing!
I love cooler weather, hoodie sweatshirts & bonfires 🔥 We haven’t had hardly any rain by us in southern Minnesota, the dust is thick & flying all over as the Combines are bringing in the crops.
Trees are a blessing and a curse around our homes. Older trees in big storms are a concern. Mow over your leaves to make munch for your grass and rake and put in garden beds as munch.
I'm with you! Suffering here in central Florida with heat and humidity. Grew up in Ohio and still miss the seasons. Love your channel. Had minimal damage from the hurricane, lots of sticks and debris down.
I’m in the same boat (Westerville, OH), but I’m ready to do fall clean up. This summer has been brutal with the heat and no rain. I also like rainy days and cooler weather. 😊

My hand is up for rainy days and cold weather, Nicholaus. Hope you are feeling better.

That’s sad! I’m sorry to hear that. I hope everything is okay.

I am definitely not using my leaf blower enough. That looked therapeutic! Loved seeing the hawk. I hope you feel better soon.
I love watching yard cleanup. Hope you feel better soon!

@@AS-lm9xm I usually get my hydrangea trees from Menards in the spring. They are typically $60 there.

🤚l also love raining days . I’m tired of this heat in California up north 104 today🥵
Feel better soon!
Praying that you are already over what had you feeling under the weather.
Also I forgot to say I love your new hydrangea tree and I want one for my yard but they are a little hard to find here in Northern CA.
I want to get a golden hinoki cypress but not a slender one.
Hmmm I'm wondering if a dog has been lifting it's leg on the Dogwood ? If so, it might continue to use that spot.
