That's actually pretty standard when cops are considering arresting and charging someone but don't know the specific law or statute broken(if there is one). Sure, a cop knows it's illegal to speed or possess meth, but they don't know every law, ever. They aren't lawyers, and they don't always know if someone actually did anything illegal. If they think they can possibly charge you with something but aren't sure what it is, they'll arrest you and check to see if you did, in fact, do anything illegal. That's why they let him go...there wasn't anything he did that looked like it could be a chargeable offense. I guess if they wanted to really stretch things, they could try and get him for attempting to pass counterfeit bills, but they knew it would never hold up because he had no intent to do so. That cop that said that was just being a dick because I guess he felt like the guy was wasting his time or whatever.
As for the whole "I could have gotten into a crash speeding over here", that's bullshit and has nothing to do with the guy who had 911 called on him. There's no law against being the cause of a pointless 911 call that leads to unrelated damage or injury. If a cop crashes on the way to a real crime, they don't charge the criminal with it. If someone does do something that ends up getting cops called, they can be charged with whatever they did to instigate the call, but not what happens when the cop is on the way there. Not to mention it's not like this was a hostage situation or a rape/murder going on. If that cop really did think his driving had put himself or others at risk responding to this, he shouldn't have been driving like that in the first place. It obviously wasn't a situation where someone was going to be hurt/die if they didn't get there quickly. And even if it was, the cop is still responsible for how he gets there. You're a godamn cop, it's your job to drive with lights and sirens on really fast. If you can't do it in a reasonably safe manner, you don't deserve to be a cop. What a silly thing to say. Cops have to drive places going fast with lights and sirens all of the time, it's part of the job, and definitely not something that the 911 caller or person 911 was called on's responsibility. If you can't respond in a timely manner without crashing or running someone over, that's on you, bud. Find a career field that doesn't involve doing that.

Well then, sir, you were driving in a manner that was unsafe and you did not handle your vehicle properly and maintain awareness. You should and probably will be charged with some sort of negligence and for whatever damage or injury you caused. If you're that worried about crashing or running someone over every time you respond to a call, either you're incompetent at driving in that manner or you have a troubling amount of anxiety and possibly a phobia and you shouldn't be driving a cop car at all. Obviously driving at high speeds and disregarding lights, etc, carries with it a level of risk, but tens of thousands of cops do it every day just fine. If it's something that you're genuinely worried about, I advise you either improve your driving skills, driver in a safer manner, see a counselor about your irrational amount of fear, or get a desk job, because that can happen with any call, legitimate or not, and the fact that it's something you think could realistically happen is troubling in the extreme. You have no business driving a cop car with lights and sirens going if you're not comfortable and confident with your ability to do so.

I support most police officers, but that is a very dangerous mentality for an officer of the law to have, it’s exactly the reason so many unjustified shootings happen.

Cause he was pranking the employees and one of the employees thought the red light from a camera was a laser from a "gun". So the officer ran code to get on scene and if he hit someone it would of been because of the prank cause of the call to 911. The jury would find Joogsquad easily guilty of his prank causing the officer to run code (lights and siren) causing a death because the officer was trying to get on scene to where he believed someone had a "gun" and a large amount of "money". Don't believe me? ask the guy that got charged with all the murder's of two helicopters that crashed during a chase chasing him. He was found guilty as the helicopters would of never been there if the chase would of never happened. Simply put it's a prank but if someone dies cause of it you can be charged.

@@d3xl3n don't care. They had no reason to believe, that there were any exigent circumstances or imminent danger if they didn't find it. Just because they suspect him, doesn't mean they have a right. It is still his property, and if they can't see it from outside, they can't open to try and find it without warrant or permission, or further probable cause. They would not know if the friend ran off with the alleged "gun" or if it was in the car. So there are multiple places it could've been put besides the car. That's bad because if he actually did point a gun at the employees, the gun would have to be dismissed as evidence because of an illegal search, and he likely wouldve been free after that because there is no video evidence showing it, and a person's word isn't enough evidence to convict. Those officers need to be trained better on the law.

Cops are always allowed to frisk pedestrians for their own protection, in the United States. And while it's true that you don't have to provide ID to the police they can then detain you if they have reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed. It may be bullshit and a complete overreach of power but they were technically within their rights.

And secondly, sometimes people don’t listen to sirens or are completely oblivious and they end up hitting the officer. I agree some of these officers were out of hand but you guys need to look at the situation from their point of view. They got a call of a man with a gun maybe possibly robbing a public fast food restaurant and when they get there it’s this. I can understand why they are angry. As should you. Next time, try to look at a situation from both POV’s and try to understand why somebody had done something or acted in a certain way. It won’t mean it’s right but it sometimes will help people overreact like this
But it's still their problem. They still need to think how they act on the road, you can't just mash the gas peddle and say I was going fast and putting people in danger just because some call came in so I had to go fast no matter who's on the road and if I hit people.

They didn't tell him what they were detaining him for till several minutes after when they are supposed to tell you right away. Also, threatening to charge him with something just to do it you can't do. "I'll find something in ours codes just to charge you." That sir is a threat and blackmail. Also, (unless he gave them permission) they need a search warrant to even open the door to a vehicle and they purposely turned the camera off and faced it down EVEN THO it's LEGAL to film police encounters and they can not do anything about it. Lastly, also damaging personal property. And yes, the employees should of been filed for false accusations just because they were butthurt over a simple prank that hurt nobody and almost got people hurt. Prank was harmless, employees were irrational and would've been the ones to cause' any accidents.

1st of all: That old white haired looking cop should be fired because thats is not how any cop should act. Bringing up personal life is completely unacceptable!
2nd of all: “We’ll find a charge.” Is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard a cop say. You can’t charge someone for what’s they haven’t done.
3rd of all: If that cop wasn’t so dang rude, Jack would’ve gotten the chance to say that the laser was a camera and that the Wendy’s was completely okay with it and laughed. I understand that they were informed there was a laser, but there was no reason to laugh at his personal life, tell him he did everything wrong in the world, tell him that he almost crashed because of him, and telling him to stop RUclips because his pranks aren’t funny and just stupid. Should've just used his right to remain silent as soon as that old cop gave him attitude. No reason to help them with their investigation if they're going to be like that. That old cop also said him he doesn't want to see him in that town anymore which is just very unbelievable. I really hope legal action was taken againts these officers or at the very least that old cop. He has no business being an officer.

That's just a warning, basically states that he can't return to the property or he will be charged with trespassing. The warning is just a legal statement saying he's been officially warned and knows his boundaries. . . Plus a restaurant is owned by someone, they have the right to make it private property if they own the plot of land underneath .

I mostly agree. I know that a go pro is a cam, but I don´t know how it looks like respectively having a laser, because I couldn´t care less. There is actually important stuff to know about in this world, instead of whatever new/outdated cameras etc.. Calling someone stupid or "not the brightest" because they don´t recognize a technical object is ironically a pretty stupid thing to say, mixing up education with intelligence.

Not true, I don't know what lawyers you deal with or what the situation was in your case, but there are plenty of lawyers that will jump at an opportunity like this where cops are doing things without just case, granted this situation is iffy, but I have read plenty of cases where the city was sued over the police's behavior and read both situations, ones where the city won the case and ones where the plaintiff won the case. and its not uncommon at all.
There are lawyers that advertise specifically for situations like this.

Opening a door to make observation of occupants/contents of a vehicle whilst investigating a potential crime is completely warranted. A search of the vehicle would involve the officer checking every container and beneath every seat of the vehicle which can also be done with probable cause. If they are concerned that a weapon was unlawfully pointed at someone and that it may be in their vehicle, than that is good enough reason to search it even if the search reveals that there is no weapon.
