I'm still angry with Garland for dragging his feet. Had he moved with some efficiency, these cases would've been concluded before the election and maybe, just maybe, the country wouldn't be in this mess because justice would've actually been served.

I hope the information can be protected for historians. I am sure there are those currently headed into office who would prefer to see history rewritten and such documents unavailable. These were concerns of some of the FBI leaders who maintained their position as nonpartisan and in service of the Constitution when loyalty to Trump was demanded and consequently lost their positions. I’m sure there are many documents in the White House, spanning many issues, including pertaining to national security, not to mention the integrity of the documentation for future historians, that will need to be protected and I hope it all somehow survives the next four years.

Gotta be honest, that doctor may not have been the best guest to bring on. Her privileged situation as both a doctor & a rich white lady make it hard for folks to see her as a vulnerable target of these cruel & misogynistic laws. And telling us doctors are ignorant to the basic legalities of what they do, especiallyafter it's been 2 years of them having to focus on this specific issue, isn't exactly a confidence builder, or something that helps engender sympathy for their plight. Doctors are human just like everybody else, but with their roles in society as being extremely knowledgeable authority figures in the realms of public health, "they're scared and they don't know a d&c is not an abortion" is not a sufficient response to the loss of these women's lives. They're smart enough to earn PhDs, so they while of course they're not lawyers, they should be able to learn which procedures are legal under the 2yo mandates & which ones aren't. This isn't a month after the rvw was reversed, or a few weeks after their states outlawed abortion. After 1 & 2 years down the line, women should not be losing their lives because healthcare officials are ignorant & afraid. It's not citizens' jobs to know the legalities of different procedures. That's not their jobs. Just like if builders don't build a house to code, it's not the resident's fault if the architect & builders didn't know what was legal and what wasn't. Most residents aren't trained in how to build a safe structure, or what is & isn't up to current code. Everybody should be as informed as possible, but at some point the responsibility has to rest on the person who's hired to do the job, because they supposedly have the training, skillset & knowledge to DO the job. That's why when folks want a house, they hire contractors & architects, not bakers, chandlers or doctors. And why we go to doctors when we're sick, & not lawyers, architects, or bakers. I'm not saying I don't have sympathy for these people who've been put in TERRIBLE situations by these laws, but it seems to me these laws aren't exactly new anymore, & they should be thoroughly educating themselves on the legalities of what they can & can't do in these states, just like policemen do with laws regarding their jobs, contractors do with the houses they build, & even retailers & toymakers with the items they sell. Staff should be getting educated about which procedures are & are not okay, & even be tested on it regularly to be sure everyone's clear if need be. They make money hand over fist & charge exorbitant rates for what they do. They demand the respect their profession deserves. Women should not be dying because certain doctors are ignorant and afraid.
