I met Perry and Dave in 1991 at a club called The Garage at 23 Parrish. It was the day before Lollapalooza 1 and they were standing in the crowd watching a band called Smashing Pumpkins who we had never heard of. It was $5 to get in and the show was incredible. I shook Dave and Perry's hand and Perry asked if we had any drugs, which we didn't. I remember them talking to each other about plans of going to see Terminator 2 later on. It was a very memorable experience.

Wow, that was one of the more meaningful, heartfelt exchanges I've heard in an interview. What billy said about losing the source and what Perry said about that if you can get past such an obstacle you really have something to say.
I love the gratitude and humbleness of them in this. It's really infectious.

I could listen to these two for hours. They have grown into storytellers and are wise beyond their years.
Howard didn't even mention the insane abuse that Billy Corgan had to endure as a child. But the point still stands and I love how Corgan put it.. it's something to celebrate that they both have endured and have wonderful families now and can bond on that level.
I have nothing to say. They are amazing men.

I just knew Jane's influenced Billy. You can hear it in the particularly mystical passages of Mellon Collie.
I was a musician in that time period and I don’t know any musicians that weren’t affected by that last Jane’s album. It just makes you want to be a better song writer. Siamese Dream had a similar effect on the tone of my music.
