    This hit me right in the feels. I hope Harrison knows the fans loved watching him every bit as much as he loved the fans. I lost my dad to cancer at the end of March this year -- one of the last conversations we had was about how he was so glad we were getting baseball this year, and the one player he said he couldn't wait to see on TV again? Bader, or ""Goldilocks" as he called him. Just a class act that exemplifies heart and hustle.

    • @harrison127
      @harrison127 2 года назад

      I just wanted to say that this comment really touched me. I lost my dad earlier this year as well and every time the Yankees had a big win, him and I would talk about how amazing Aaron Judge was and how excited we were to see him in the postseason. I can’t imagine how it’s gonna feel next year if he’s not a Yankee

    Man, this made me tear up. My husband and I always have and always will call Bader "Sunshine"....he was always smiling. He reminded us of the character Sunshine from Remember the Titans. Just always smiling, the best upbeat demeanor. Thank you Bader, you will be missed.

    He was mic'd up for a game about a month ago, and listening to him then showed he' s an intelligent fun-loving guy who clearly loved playing in St Louis. I'll miss him, his exuberance for the game was something special.

    Bader will ALWAYS remain a favorite of Cardinal fans. Harrison such a joy to watch and his enthusiasm was always contagious. If Flaherty, Matz, Reyes and Hicks hadn't all got hurt and left gaping holes in the starting rotation, this trade would never have happened. It hurts to see him traded, but at least is was all about trying to fill a desperate need and nothing about his play or attitude. Yankees are a nice place to be traded to, hoping for continued success there.

    Our entire family are lifelong Cards fans. We LOVE Harrison Badger. My 83 year old mother literally cried when she heard he was traded.
    We wish him well with the Yankees. He is from NY and I believe he grew up being a Yankees fan. I’m sure if you asked him where he wanted to go if he left STL he would have picked the Yankees. He will get to play in front of his family and friends.
    We will miss you Bader!! And when you return to STL some day, we’ll give you a standing O!!! Stay classy!!

    Update on the plantar fasciitis please? -- Bader is known for his speed -- on the bases which also allows him to cover a lot of ground in centerfield - the concern is how your game will be effected by this type of heel/foot injury that has been known to take ten months to heal - GM Brian Cashman seems to be overly confident that Bader will be able to play at a high level in September.

    He was such a fun Cardinal's player to watch. Bader really controlled that outfield for us, and earned that Gold Glove. I'm sad and disappointed that he was traded, really wish he could have stayed. But, I'm really thankful for the time he spent in St. Louis, the energy he brought, the highlight reel moments, and especially the hard work he put in to make himself better, it is all appreciated. I hope his foot gets better really soon and he gets to have a good career for the Yankees. I hope the fans love him as much as Cardinals fan do. It's hard to say bye, but good luck, and remember, once a Cardinals always a Cardinal.

Harrison was by far my favorite player on this team, which says a lot, considering how I’ve grown up with Yadi and Wainwright, but Bader truly brought pure energy to the game, and I loved how you could see him give 150% every time he stepped on the field. .250 hitter with 15 homers and 50 rbi every season, the bat is not supposed to be anything special. He can get 20 stolen bases a season, he will have outstanding center field defense and baserunning.

      He WILL hit .300 in New York. Maybe not at first, but he will. I blame the Cardinals "hitting guru" Jeff Albert for parts of his hitting approach that darn near RUINED Matt Carpenter. Now you see what Carpenter is capable of now that he is free of Jeff Albert. Im predicting the same with Harrison. If he doesn't hit .300 next year, he will by 2024 ! Im willing to bet on that. Yankees fans will love him !

    I've been a Cardinal fan since they had Harry Caray AND Jack Buck in the booth. I'd strap my transitor radio over my ear with a belt in the days before headphones to listen to them call games while I mowed yards as a kid. So I've seen LOTS of great Cardinal players. Harrison, you are special. Thanks. Hurts to see you go, but what a tribute to you that you get to play for the two most storied, successful clubs in baseball. AND you're back 'home'. Can't wait to root against you & Carp when we meet in the Big Show!
    All the best, young man...

    My father was the baseball fan in our family and I never paid much attention to it. I happened to start watching a Cardinals game while having a drink at a local bar. I hadn't been a permanent resident of St Louis for long, so had no long association with the team. But Bader caught my attention. He is fun to watch. His enthusiasm for the game is on open display when he's on the field. His pleasure and excitement after making a good play is obvious. Some in St Louis seemed to take it as a display of ego. I find his pleasure entertaining. I like seeing someone showing they're excited about what they're doing. I get excited because they are. I'm still not what I'd call a baseball fan, but I am a Cardinals fan because of Harrison Bader. I'll miss his flash and style.
