I agree with using an attorney. Since the employee admitted to what she did, saving the saliva/drink as proof might not matter. If dead viruses (like COVID) can be identified in the drink, then that sure increases liability.

If she had been a bit older or immunocompromised, she would have most likely died. She also has two children that were put at risk by her exposure to COVID-19 through the worker. By letting an employee with COVID-19 handle her and other’s food in the first place and even allow her to go as far as to spit in it DURING A PANDEMIC OF ALL TIMES, McDonald’s should at least be sued for endangerment or something along those lines. I immediately called him out on it and one of the employees got the manager. His manager apologized to me and took him into the back where I can only assume he got yelled at. Got new food as well made by the manager herself.

Pick your drive-thru carefully, and try to be a regular. There are no-go locations in my town, and it's not because of poverty or any sociopolitical nonsense, it's mainly just because some areas have less business, corporate doesn't check on them as often, so a lot of BS slips thru the cracks. Fast food is a hit-or-miss but after delivering for DD, UE, and GH, it's pretty secure and something like this would be because the store manager looked the other way while the employee was doing this, and what's more disturbing is how often this employee used this 'strategy' against customers. Truly disgusting and sad

Fr, this happened before with my brother a couple weeks ago, someone was black, we are black, but he only let the girls (I was somewhere else) on the ride, argued his ticket was scratched when the girls were too but he barely looked, my brother walked past him to get on the ride after the manager was called, he coughed in his face as if he pretended to cough normally when he walked past, the line was really long so we were able to get on the ride after some arguments and someone new came

If an employee spit in the President's food, what do you think would happen? What if someone did this to a cop? Pretty sure justice would be accomplished in either of these situations.
As mad as I get, I will never spit in someone else food or drinks. I became a cook instead of a cashier so I have no interaction with guest because people are overly demanding, but I'd never temper with anyone's food that way.
Ok, apparently the restaurant does know who did this because they fired the employee. Now how about an arrest and permanent ban from having a food handlers card. Good grief. Makes me afraid to go through any drive though.
@You're Sheep Depending on region (and country in some cases) a food handlers card or certificate is required at specific “fast food” places. Not McDonalds however, but this could hurt that employees ability to work with any food industry IF the lady sues that employee or McDonalds. I don’t know of any examples at the moment but I used to work at a fast food place that did require the certificate but that’s because we actually made food from scratch, not just the boxed stuff. But you’re absolutely right, it’s not required at a place like McDonalds lol
I don’t know about a card, but they should be arrested and convicted of food tampering which is a felony, so if they ever try to get work in the food industry again, that will show up on their background check. I’m sorry, but that is unforgivable and shows that the person has no concern for the well being of others.

May I take your order please?” Now it’s just, “What do you want?” There’s no greeting when you pull up to pay at the window. They just blurt a dollar figure at you. The employees don’t ask if you would like salt or ketchup or sugar or whatever, and they look annoyed when you ask for these. I used to be a regular customer. Now I patronize other establishments where I pay two and a half to three times more just so I don’t have to deal with the aggravation at MacDonald’s. A word to the wise: always check your food before eating or drinking! Save the food/drink specimen if you think it’s been tampered with. Food tampering is a felony in some states.

If she had been a bit older or immunocompromised, she would have most likely died. She also has two children that were put at risk by her exposure to COVID-19 through the worker. I immediately called him out on it and one of the employees got the manager. His manager apologized to me and took him into the back where I can only assume he got yelled at. Got new food as well made by the manager herself.

Pick your drive-thru carefully, and try to be a regular. There are no-go locations in my town, and it's not because of poverty or any sociopolitical nonsense, it's mainly just because some areas have less business, corporate doesn't check on them as often, so a lot of BS slips thru the cracks. Fast food is a hit-or-miss but after delivering for DD, UE, and GH, it's pretty secure and something like this would be because the store manager looked the other way while the employee was doing this, and what's more disturbing is how often this employee used this 'strategy' against customers. Truly disgusting and sad

In a few places in the US I learned before the pandemic spitting was not even a crime. I learned this from my friends friends who were in different states. Before the Pandemic it was rarely prosecuted in some places in the US.

@You're Sheep Depending on region (and country in some cases) a food handlers card or certificate is required at specific “fast food” places.
Not McDonalds however, but this could hurt that employees ability to work with any food industry IF the lady sues that employee or McDonalds.
I don’t know of any examples at the moment but I used to work at a fast food place that did require the certificate but that’s because we actually made food from scratch, not just the boxed stuff.

May I take your order please?” Now it’s just, “What do you want?” There’s no greeting when you pull up to pay at the window. They just blurt a dollar figure at you. The employees don’t ask if you would like salt or ketchup or sugar or whatever, and they look annoyed when you ask for these. I used to be a regular customer. Now I patronize other establishments where I pay two and a half to three times more just so I don’t have to deal with the aggravation at MacDonald’s. A word to the wise: always check your food before eating or drinking! Save the food/drink specimen if you think it’s been tampered with. Food tampering is a felony in some states.
