+Moe Othman its walking guys, literally /slow/ walking. do you guys never go out on a stroll?? how is it a habit??? do americans literally just sit in their house if they have nothing planned for that day??
Well now we have Pokemon Go, and I walked 13 km (8.08 miles) today and time flew by because I was having fun with the app anyway. A great way to get in shape if you ask me.
When I visit my parents, I walk around the house with my mom while she tries to finish up her steps for the day. It really is a great family activity and promotes healthy choices in the next generation.
@@Leewoods123, honestly, it depends. If it is raining or snowing out, there's a good reason to do it inside. However, my mother also does her laps at about 10 pm. So, inside the house, she can at least see where she's going and not have to worry about wild nocturnal animals like coyotes.
@@annalisasimmer7559 fair point. I’m from the UK and we have to be careful of the local wildlife too. We have these animals called hairy beavers that can bite your sausage right off if you’re not careful

This was my New Years Resolution, and I've been doing this religiously since the beginning of January. I even raised my goal to 12000 steps a day, which has become habit at this point. As of today (as I've been dieting as well), I logged myself as losing 21 pounds in the past 9 weeks.
When you do your first 5K on the Fitbit, the app tells you sketching like, "Congratulations! You've walked more than the average American does in a day."
A really nice video BuzzFeed. I'm doing around 20,000 steps a day .. and yes it's hard work but you can do it and work if you get yourself organised. It's a great weight loss tool. And I'm in my sixties so for you 20 year olds, it should be a piece of cake .. perhaps that can be your motivation.
My sister recently got a Fitbit and she goes well over 10,000 steps everyday I never realised how much exercise she really did everyday until this video. Now I feel like I need to get active 😂😂
I walk like this regularly and it benefits to my health a lot. I don't even have to work out and my body is super fit. You never know where your legs are going to take you. :)

Your iPhone keeps track of your steps in the health app. It just has to be activated. I'm a server and it's all walking so I do 16K steps every time I work.
I have been doing 10K steps sometimes close to 20K per day since July 2015 so almost 7+ months and let me tell you it works. I lost quite a bit of weight(almost 20 KGs) and have low BP as well as blood sugar. So yes one should definitely do it. Going for a 3 mile jog in the morning does help getting to that 10K figure by the end of the day.
I love these videos where it has challenges. Maybe yall are going for the "real aspect" of people not putting 100% into the challenge, but it defeats the purpose of the challenge video if the people participating don't actually follow thru. Hope to see that in the future!
I'm glad Jen addressed that she doesn't fully commit to when she participate's in these challenges. I love her and think its hilarious when she gives up halfway and everyone teases her.
This is why I love my job. I usually get in 10-12k in a work day, depending on who my work partner is for the day, and then I take my dog for a walk when I get home so I get another 2-3k. The only time I don't is in the winter when it's under 0C
Walking while listening to audiobooks or podcasts makes it 100 times better, it makes me want to actually walk instead of taking my bike or the bus just so I can listen to more of it! Try it out.
40 degrees outside being too cold to go on a walk are you freaking kidding meeeee? Last week it was 40 degrees out and I was sweating like craaaazy.
