I was born & raised in LA (1959) and because it actually does rain and get cold there, as a kid this song confused me. Until I started traveling! I've trucked all of the 48 contiguous states, almost all of lower Canada and lived in Holland on the North Sea, been as far east as Belarus and Poland, worked in the oil patch of North Dakota... in winter!! I very much appreciate this song now. And as much as I love it, I found THIS rendition very refreshing and fun and enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you lovely girls! It was beautiful. 😅😊
Not confusing at all. The song was written in New York City of them dreaming about California (where they grew up). The leaves are brown in NY. The sky is grey in NY. The church is in NY. They are DREAMING about California.

I remember when that song was on the charts by the Mammas and the Poppas. (I'm 73.) I was living in California then. (I was born and raised there, but I'm never going back to that crazy state again.) Thanks for taking me back to happy memories. You are having a lot of fun making music and I hope you have years more of doing that!

I heard them singing this great old song on it’s original release. So well done. I wish current conditions would allow them to release more English language songs. I listen to their Russian songs but as my knowledge of the Russian language is almost nil it is an exercise in just enjoying the melody. 😁
