- I’ve adored Amy McCabe’s rich sound and musical finesse for years. Amy has an extremely demanding job as principal in The President’s Own, and she’s been killing it in that ensemble for many years.
Nothing is more gratifying for me, while wearing my Lotus cap, than being able to help players who I greatly admire to feel even better and unlock even more potential.
It’s an honor to hook my sister up with something that will help her access even greater comfort and ease as she continues to inspire people everywhere she goes!
I’m so glad we got to spend some time together at ITG (and afterward in Baltimore) and find the right Lotus mouthpieces to upgrade her playing experience.
She’s now got our 1XL2 & 1XL mouthpieces in Brass.

Amy’s sound is incredible! Whatever she chooses to play on will be the correct choice. Because she has such a deep understanding of sound and intonation, she’ll sound amazing on whatever she plays. Granted, having the right equipment does make it more fun!!
Amazing Sound! I'm not surprised if she is principal in The President's Own. I am still getting used to one of your MPs but what amazed me was I was able to lip slur from high C to high E without much effort. I've never been able to do that on other MPs.
Wow! Amy is damn good! I can see why you posted her mouthpiece try out. I liked her short few bars of Pictures at an Exhibition. One of the greatest trumpet excerpts ever written. And of course, The maestro. Talk about take the roof down!! Mr Rapa, thank you for your posts on You tube. You're the greatest!
Amy sounds wonderful anyway. Hearing this is so illustrative of the benefits of Lotus!
What a fantastic sound she makes.
Adam and Amy! Good to see you!
Any time you have an event near Michigan I would definitely be interested in trying these out. They sound great! And hearing someone who uses equipment like mine play on the LOTUS MP is super useful. Great video!
She's a really good player.
Very interesting to hear the subtlness in sound/color projection between the different Lotus mouthpieces!🎺🎼🎨🇺🇲
Make sure you look at the three alloy options. Adam Rapa has written the descriptions on the mouthpiece page of our webstore. The differences ARE NOT small: www.lotustrumpets.com/mouthpieces
The A's and C's holy cow
The sound seems to great. I would love to try a Lotus mounthpiece on my Bach trumpet. Not sure where to test them in the Netherlands
We have a dealer in the Netherlands! Here is a link for their website: www.atelierpfeiffer.nl/
Sounds great and she's so good I'm kind of jealous.
Soundelicious!
I think you only need to carry L, L2 and XL in sizes 1, 2, 3 and 7 in a C trumpet version. Sounds like doable to me.
Isn’t Master Gunnery Sgt. Matthew Harding the principal Cornet/Trumpet of the President’s Own?
Amy is a very good trumpetplayer interesting test with lotus mp
Excuse me, but what is that tuner? 0:39 sec😊
Tonal Energy Tuner (TE Tuner)
I think we have the same shirt, and the same DAW.
Who is the artist on the outro tune?
Hey Adam I want to puchase a mouthpiece but need help picking out which is best for me. I play classical trumpet and want to be able to reach low notes and high notes. Right now I use a Stomvi Old Style 1 1/2C mouthpiece. Please let me know.
If the Stomiv 1.5C compares basically to a Bach 1.5C = Lotus 1L2 Brass.
Where can these be found
Will Adam you be In SF Bay Area to try them out ?
We will be back in the SF Bay Area for sure! Keep an eye out on our social media pages and we will let you know when we're planning our next visit. /Henrik Grahn, CEO
@@lotustrumpets6739 hey when In SF Bay Area California ?
Just started 4 months ago, sorry for the noob question….
But does lip size matter when choosing a mouthpiece? I assume it’s mostly about comfort. At the moment I use a 5c Blessing mouthpiece but I’ve recently tried a 7c and the tone and fit seems more comfortable. I don’t want to jump around trying different mouthpieces since I’m just starting. Not sure where to take it from here. I just keep practicing with what I have and try my best perfecting my tone.
@LOTUS Trumpets
Wow thank you for that thorough explanation!
I’ll take a look at the Lotus 7L2 thank you for the advice.
5C is larger than a 7C by more than you think. Play whatever feels comfortable to you.
Monette Unity or Lotus ...Which is Better?
Bach
LOL
While I haven't played any of the Unity mouthpieces, I did play Monettes for awhile, and I found the Lotus to be easier to play, plus it was SO much cheaper
There is no ‘better‘. There is only ‘different‘ and it depends on what works for you. The Monette Unity pieces play definitely more efficiently than the Resonance Pranas meanwhile offering more sound. More sound than the Lotus? - Probably. However, as far as I remember both, I'd say that the Lotus still play a bit more easily.
All in all, it depends on what you need and want.
Neither company had what I was looking for. Been happy with Austin Custom Brass mouthpieces so far.
Aren’t the intonation issues related to gap? Do these mouthpieces fit deeper or not as deep into the receiver as her normal mouthpieces?
👍🎺👧👏🎺🔝
But which size to buy?
What brand and model are you on now?
@@lotustrumpets6739 I have a Bach Strad 190 37
@@lotustrumpets6739 Bach 190 37 Stradivarius
Doesn’t 2 & 3 make it flat?
Video evidence of it raising the pitch
She sounds great. But I want to shoot myself if I ever hear someone playing Pictures again. It'll drive you insane the way someone who works at a guitar shop hears Stairway to Heaven all day.
FU...fu...fu...fu....
It's not nice to show up a lady with her own horn and mouthpiece. LOL
Fu....................
So dramatic. So much drama. So many exasperated facial expressions. Such perpetuating a theme. Really.
clasical players are boring
Thank you for your kind words.
