So glad I’m an insider and you’re now offering gear and tips for surf fishing! I just recently started venturing into surf fishing where I am in Navarre and having a blast!
I have been surf fishing most of my life and i will say i never thought about peeling the shrimp before hooking! If youre ever in the PCB area, i would love to go fishin with ya.
As an inshore fishing senior citizen with limited mobility, unable to go up and down stairs to access the beach on much of Florida's east coast which minimizes where I can fish. I'm very limited to the amount of gear I can bring to surf fishing. I'm an insider member and Salt Strong tips & tutorials are a great help when deciding the minimum correct gear to bring. Thank you! 👍👍
if you're near the treasure coast, I have more gear than 1 man should own 🤣🤣 I'm always looking for someone to fish with. I primarily surf fish and would love to take you out!
Bless you for this kind offer. If I ever come to your area, I'll take you up on it. Travel is difficult for me. I found a few boat launch sites on the Intra Coastal within 20 miles that have very small boardwalks along the water and parking lots fairly level that I can manage on a good day. I wish the state and/or counties would make more handicap accessible places to fish from. Thanks again. You're a real class act.@@patrentfrow
As for rods go, just starting out beach fishing -- you can't beat the 12' ugly stick. It was like $80 bucks, slap your reel of choice on, and you've got a solid beach fishing setup that can reach the backside of most any sandbar.
Bluefish up to 3 pounds, if bled and iced make for good eating. Any size blue turns out well when smoked! Yes, you will find blues on menus in NJ restaurants.
I suggest you discuss proper placemrnt of the rod holder and setting the drag so the fish does not pull the rod over. I use "bad billy's beater blocks" to set the rod holder firmly without damaging the rod holder.
hey guys, im from pa. just got into delray for a month, anyone help me where to do some beach or jettie fishing in delray,,gladly help out a fellow angler if your ever in pa,thanks ken
Given that the current/waves are applying constant pressure on the line, it seems like a sliding weight would just get penned to the bottom to essentially be the same as a static weight.
You won't be waiting much longer... it's already super helpful for wade fishermen, and it's going to get a whole lot better with our upcoming mapping layer.
Hello and thank you for watching, with that said I am afraid your timeline is off. I have lived in Florida over 30 years and have fished the entire state during that time frame, and the Space Coast for 9 years now. I also grew up on the SC Coast surf fishing the exact same way. Thanks again for watching and have a great weekend

how far out are the sand bars on the Tampa area beaches?
The bars in Tampa aren't as far out... often just 100 to 200 ft out.

Let us know what you find!
Great video and it looked like you had a good fishing day. Any thoughts on the static weight location vs a sliding weight by chance?
Given that the current/waves are applying constant pressure on the line, it seems like a sliding weight would just get penned to the bottom to essentially be the same as a static weight.
It's exciting that you're getting into the surf fishing world. What side of Florida were you at in this video? The water looks great.
This was filmed on the Atlantic coast
Where is the beach?
Waiting for more surf/ wade fishing resources in the app. I will re-subscribe the same day.
