Weiss jemand, welcher Chor und welche Sopran-Solistin da gesungen hat? Eine tolle Inszenierung! Wunderschön! Die Musiker und Solisten vom feinsten. Und der Chor grandios! Ein tolles Zusammenspiel
Haydn had this very interesting compositional method of allocating different text to different sections of the choir for the sake of brevity. It certainly gets the job done, but, I shudder to think of what it must have been like for anyone wanting to try to sing along...
It's impossible for anyone to sing along :D I had the honour of singing the bass part recently and, honestly, listening to this performance here I discover the piece as totally new to me - after a score or so rehearsals :) When you listen to it from the audience's perspective it's totally different than hearing (and singing) it from within the choir, but enjoyable both ways.
In the Traditional Latin rite of the Catholic Church, (which is the only form of the Latin Right that existed at Haydn's time), the faithful did not sing along with the choir, so this wouldn't have been an issue. I sing in the choir of Saint Mary's Oratory in Wausau where the Traditional form of the Latin Rite is celebrated, and we are singing this Mass tomorrow for the feast of the Immaculate Conception. I am very excited!
Ferrariman601 Readers may be interested to note that there have been a number of attempts to untangle the jumble of words in the Gloria and the Credo where SATB simultaneously sing different words. Probably the best ‘stretched’ version (from 31 to 118 bars), was done by Haydn’s brother Michael for performances of the mass in Salzburg where the telescoped text versions were not appreciated. I would recommend strongly that any choir singing this mass use Michael Haydn’s stretched Gloria and Credo (there is no new music whatsoever) rather than in the incomprehensible gobbledygook of his brother’s original.
Maravilloso.... Alegría para mi espíritu y para mis oídos

Ours in Holland is tomorrow. We could use a candle burning for us in Serbia. :) You have really nice dynamics and tempi.
Well, that was the general rehearsal :-)

I am sorry for the misunderstanding.
