I visited Putney Vale cemetery in December 1999, had no idea where the grave was (it was Sunday and the info office was closed); the cemetery was almost closing, but when I thought I'd had to go away without finding the grave, I suddenly found it!! All flower shops where closed so had to (ehm..) "borrow" a flower from a cemetery's flowerbed. I was glad I succeeded in paying homage to one of the greatest artists and beautiful voices of the past century.
Когда-то прямо за могилой Сэнди рос очень красивый клен. Жаль, что его срубили... Виден пенек от него, за плитой. Спасибо, за это видео! Очень грустная история.
.. Lovely vid and track,.. I've just come home after a long ramble past 9B Arthur Road , across Wimbledon Common and into Putney Vale Cemetery to leave a yellow rose at Sandy's headstone ,.. :o)
also visted her grave in 1992 having been impacted by Sandy's music and words for now over 45 plus years... I would be the last person you would think of doing this but her importance to so many people is beyond desciption.. sad to see that her brother died only two years later.. how sad this all is.. "the lady"
@@RocktrampKonig I agree. She was never better than when playing by herself. I looked up Rendezvous, but even the Deluxe Edition doesn't have this version, so I'm guessing it's from the boxed set, 'Demos and Rarities'. Many thanks. The film and song are very moving.
@@StephenSeabird Yes, it was included in the box set19 CD, 2010 and also in the box set "A Boxful of Treasures", 2004. Some of her demos touch me very deeply. I'd like to advise also 2 demos of "What is True" - on guitar and on piano. You can find it on RUclips. It's so heartwarming!

Beautiful video! 💓
My late sister in law sang Sandy’s songs. Beautiful. 🙏🏼🌸🕊
Beautiful video with one of Sandy's most touching songs.. so her brother and mother died shortly after
Poor mum, both of her children predeceased her. She only lived for another four months after the death of her son.
RIP Edna, David, Sandy

really sad, but, please don't blame me, not really the end
Beautiful ❤
My #1 bucket list. To lay a rose. 🌹
It is fitting that she is buried in such a beautiful environment...
A voice sans pareil.
Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for this film, and also the beautiful song, which I'm not familiar with, though I have most of her work. Which album is it from?
This song is from her last album "Rendezvous", 1977. But here taken short demo version, that I think I like even more.

Does anybody know where to find the lyrics to this song? Since I am not a native speaker I'd like to read the lyrics
All Our Days
Sandy Denny
We search for everything
Keeping what we would win
Orchids or tiny flowers
Wooden huts or ivory towers
Centuries or hours
Dark are the winter days
Holy in many ways
Vaults of time unshaken
Whilst as through them we are taken
Sleeping forests wake
Ice melts on the lake
Birds begin in making their way back home
The frost and the fire goes
East winds and winter snows
Sun upon the daffodils
Dancing on the verdant hills
Lambs in the fields
Warmer grows the morning sun
Days of youthfulness and fun
The prime of the year begun
The song of summer to be sung
Everything is one
Working day is done
Watch the river running through our lives
How slowly the colours change
We feel the drops of rain
Mists of evening rise again
We rarely stroll the shadowed lanes
As autumn night draws in
We sit upon the sand
Warmth draining from the land
Watching the ruby sun
Setting on the ocean
The echoes in the caves
The flame upon the waves
Memories for saving all our days
The one regret is she didn't get the chance to marry a Mr Beach or a Mr Hare!?😄
Still her voice could really bring you on an emotional journey!! 😊💐🎶
lEST WE FORGET Lucas took her baby.
