For anyone who is wondering at 7:33, instead of null, put "". This is because we have assigned type String to the variable, however, we are assigning the type null. We could say that the type can be string or null, but whats easier is just setting it to an empty string.

This is an intresting popularization of cryptocurrencies. However, it's 2021 and I would fully expect any devs to understand that Bitcoin is an outdated technology. A 100 seconds on blocklattice, delegated proof of stake or smart contracts would be much intresting imho.

Bitcoin isn't outdated, it just had a network upgrade a few months back, and any technological improvements other cryptocurrencies come up with can be implemented in Bitcoin if they turn out to be useful.

I was able to save a lot of money in 3 years. I landed a 3 year consulting gig paying over $100K a year. I reside in the mid-west where there is a lower cost of living. I lived with my Mother ( I paid her rent). During this time I also paid off my $15K student loans and $18K Jeep. Now I have zero debt, still making over $100K and able to focus on building wealth via investments,etc

I’m wondering if you would use sockets to emit events and save a transaction in every peer, or how could you do that so that the chain remains consistent
The mining process is how it remains consistent. The miner validates the block, and the new state of the chain is broadcast to the entire network of users. It's built like that to remain decentralized. Any node in the network has to get an updated ledger from another node everytime they try to make a transaction.

I think the whole blockchain situation really shows the pros and cons of trust. If you use something like blockchain, you are free of the limitations of a contract with a bank, but you're also free of their protections, making you more susceptible to scams or generally being cheated out of your money. It's a more wild-west style setting, where the lack of laws is a good and bad thing. By trusting a bank, you lose some benefits such as an instant universal currency, but you gain better security, among other things. It's really a judgement call

What? You can't build blockchains on top of Stellar, it's "simply" a network for moving and storing money.

@@skylark.kraken no, you can't. If you wish to build "blockchains" on top of an existing network (the technical term for this would be a parachain, sidechain etc) you'd be better of using e.g Polygon, Cosmos or Polkadot.

Yeah, you can use Stellar as a payment platform, but that's got nothing at all to do with building your own blockchain.

The Blockchain is saved in every full node. You can make a full node with a full Blockchain of btc on your house if you want to.
Ps. Its like torrent files, that a lot of people can have in their computers and then "seed", but I don't know the implementation details, which I would love to learn!!

100 seconds is "ONE minute and 40 seconds". Not that I mind to much but in your videos is almost always around TWO minutes and 40 seconders. A title of "explained in under 200 seconds" would work just as well. Keep up the good work and love your videos!
