Character-wise she's my favorite in the line. I loved that she's got really a lot of screen time in the webisodes. But the doll does look like a poor cousin next to Heather. The sandals look stunning but it's unacceptable that they break so easily. Even if the design is phenomenal this is a toy after all so durability should also be taken into consideration.

What I loved is although she wasn't your favorite doll, you STILL consoled her and gave her love. That was so sweet and genuine. It made me smile. Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts on the design of the doll. She is a nice doll, they could have presented her better. 🙂
I agree that Luna is a bit underwhelming in the outfits compared to the other Shadow High dolls. It is just confusing to look at while the other girls have more cohesive outfits. And I got Heather yesterday and she is amazing. And Emi looks so good in Heather's second outfit top for some reason. Now I just need Mila and the Shadow High twins to get all the edgier, more goth Rainbow High/Shadow High dolls.
MyFroggyStuff showed that the gladiator sandals can unfasten at the back so you don’t have to yank them off as a whole. Luna is my favorite…. but I have not tried to unfasten her sandals yet…. and her hairstyle is pretty cute, it just needs some fixing.
I tried unfastening them and even trying to do it slowly they almost broke. Not opening them is actually safer. If she wasn't wearing socks hot water would make it safer.
@@alysgrey9576 yes I finally opened them and I had the same issue. But using a toothpick to push the pegs out seemed to work better. When I put them back on her I just left them unfastened…. for now. 😂
Lol Luna is actually my favorite from this line >.< her first outfit is actually more in line with what I’ve been hoping for from rainbow high- it’s supposed to be a fashion school, and they just wear the most normal looking clothes!! And I do like her second outfit too. My only complaint with mine is I think the gloves look a little cheap lol
Shadow high is my favorite doll line ever. I feel like it was made exactly for me because grey dolls have always been my favorite. So for me personally, (excluding clothes)Luna is my favorite because her skin tone is perfection. I do agree that her clothes are not the best, but if we include the clothes I literally can’t pick a favorite or least favorite because they’re all absolutely beautiful. Which is why I bought a whole line of dolls for the first time in my life and I plan on buying doubles (so unlike me)

@@wetsockz3001 Well sunny is very inspired by Usagi from Sailor moon so maybe they want the family to keep in that theme. This Luna's hair is also very similar to human Luna from SM. The skirt in the metallic outfit has a similar shape to SM's Luna dress, though its much shorter and im probably just reaching. Honesty I feel like they should have taken more design elements from sailor moon cuz as is the theme for Luna is unclear.
I actually like her 2nd outfit more, honestly, probably 'cuz they're easily streetwear-able. Though, the "paint" on her sleeves also breaks apart and all I did was put on the jacket once. Really liked the gladiators, but I didn't want to put it back on because despite being mostly careful with my dolls, her shoes looked like they were about to break. At least she's got a more relatable story in the show, and I felt really bad for her. Speaking of which, you should go watch the newest episodes if you haven't already!

I just bought her reduced yesterday. I had no idea I would love her so much out of box. Her dark grey colouring looks fantastic with silver. She is just gorgeous and I like how her looks match her name, Luna. Really beautiful doll. Delighted to have her in my collection.
I think the problem with the first look of this particular doll is that she's TOO monochrome? All her accessories just blend in with the rest of her. The others seemed to have a good balance with their color scheme, but all of her just kind of blends together. The second outfit seems like it works better as far as keeping her from turning into a gray blob on camera, but her upped body still just kind of blends into her hair with the jacket on. Oof, somebody did NOT do enough testing on those boots before approving their final design. 😬 There are going to be a lot of tears, complaints, refunds, and replacements demanded from the company with those.
Nah, MGA gets around that by just not standing behind thier products. You have THIRTY days, and must have the box and receipt to prove where you bought them- none of it is condusive to buying gifts (that you buy and don't get opened immediately). MGA refused to replace HANDS that broke and fell off multiple dolls because I had bought the doll 33 days before the doll broke, and it happened more than once. MGA really angers me- they leave you zero choice but to buy a new doll and return the broken one to the store using your new receipt for the new doll. I'm not kidding- it's awful and thier policies are garbage. Lego is a company that literally fixes ANY problem with thier products, hell ive had them replace two bricks in a set I bought at a YARD SALE because they are awesome and they care about thier customers. I'm not kidding.

I really love Luna because I feel like her outfit and hair look like a silver-gold instead of just silver, which I think is a really pretty and unique concept for a doll, especially a gray-scale doll. I love the outfit she comes in because it feels very avant garde, moreso than the other dolls in the series. I also really like her second outfit, and I was debating switching her into it, but ended up putting Nicole in that instead. I hated all of Nicole's fashions but loved the doll, and I think Luna's second outfit looks great on her! I should mention that I apparently lucked out and got a Luna with perfect bangs from Amazon, so I think the doll is really pretty.

No apologizing! Its okay not to like her! Most ive seen really hate on Natasha, despite her being probably my favorite in the line. Lunas style has a very Gaga-esc vibe to it, spacey and very runway to me. I restyled her hair and made her look a little more like her sister and have been really enjoying Luna, even if she is TECHNICALLY my least favorite as well. As you said, everyone will inevitably have a least favorite, even if you like them all!

Yeah I don’t think the character has a clear aesthetic concept from this doll. I’m wondering if they were trying for a spacey metallic kind of vibe since her name is Luna? But yeah I feel like maybe they thought being Sunny’s sister was enough of a concept? Idk. The Gaga-esque dress is really cool in the show. The cocktail dress/jacket combo isn’t doing much for me either.
For me, she is currently in her second outfit with her gladiator shoes. Her first outfit doesn't both me as much but it feels far off compared to the outfits. I kind of wish they would have played up the moon aspect and made her more witchy than space pop princess.

I don't own any of the Shadow High dolls yet but Luna looks like she would be my favourite from this wave. I thought it would be Nicole but I really - really don't like Nicole's clothes. To be honest, I love Luna's futuristic style, the silver romper is Space chic meets Lady Gaga, for me, and the gladiator boots, combined with the socks, are gorgeous (shame that they are so flimsy though). Also, I find her face really beautiful. I only just started collecting RH so I don't know if the face mold is from Series 1 or newer, she does look really pretty though... Heather has THE BEST outfits in this wave, I think, but there's something about her face that doesn't sit right with me.
I love sunny and Luna in the show so much but I agree. Her hair isn’t accurate to the show which bothers me and I hate her first outfit too tbh. It’s very ugly. 😂 If I buy her, she will have to be on clearance and I definitely will do her hair accurately to sunnys and lunas in the show. Definitely will be gelling the bangs down too. Also, they should make the back of those gladiator shoes come undone for easy to take on and off.
Okay now that I have seen your review on Luna, I am having second thoughts on making her my third shadow high doll out of the fear of destroying her sandals while changing outfits. Also I have seen Ghoulia and the grey werewolf builder dolls used as bases for Homestuck trolls OOAK custom dolls.
The fact that yesterday I bought her and I already ripped out five out of six of those little studs in the back of her sandals is just confusing. I had to glue them back to their place.
Sunny Maddison and Luna Maddison are like the Sailor Moon inspired dolls but I don't see Sailor Moon villain in her but then again I don't watch the show sorry if anyone of you loved the show I just haven't seen any of this but I have seen Toy Chats video of Shadow High review I can see Sailor Moon villain in her kinda because the only villain from Sailor Moon I know and recognize as Queen Barrel and her name is inspired by the cat Sunny is like the Princess Celestia sister and Luna is like the Nightmare Moon sister but with the name Luna from Sailor Moon of course
I really like them all and almost didn’t get the boy one but at the end I did ;) On this doll I got one with so so bangs but when ever I would go shopping I would go to the toy isle n see if more arrived and when I saw a better one I grabbed her n returned the bad one at home and now Im happy with my collection of Shadow High dolls :) By the way, love love ur nails ;)
I’m going to be honest, I think as a character and as a doll she’s so boring. She’s just Sunny, but toned-down and grayscale. I think they could’ve done something really cool and made a character who is the opposite of Sunny in terms of personality and with a whole new design! I love your videos a lot and I’m a long time viewer (I was watching when your son was still in videos AND I won a Shopkins giveaway at the end of 2016(?) that was hosted by you and Kaiden.) I love your personality and how you look at life, your thoughts are so refreshing to me. Thank you so much for making me and others feel good about collecting dolls and toys as adults, they bring me so much joy! as a character, sunny and luna are nothing alike. sunny is optimistic, while luna is the opposite. sunny is full of energy and a total goofball without a care in the world, meanwhile luna is constantly reminded by her classmates and upperclassmen that she wasn't good enough for rainbow high like the rest of her family. I think luna is like that twin that's treated worse than sunny by her parents and the rest of her family, because she isn't the talented child, like sunny. I mean, sunny didn't even mention her till like season 3- there wasn't a single reference to luna, not even to vi who definitely knows she exists, since sunny and vi have been friends for so long. And if vi didn't realise luna existed, then wtf??? That just builds up my idea that luna was neglected. because of her neglect, luna formed this jealous, snarky and closed off personality, which is nothing like sunny's. its just a theory though but it does explain why luna is a completely different character to sunny. Also fashionwise is a lot different too. luna is wearing this spacey, retro, holo look that's giving gaga and sunny just wears clothes that are typical to rainbow high dolls.
I felt the same way about all the line before watching the series, but once you watch the series and meet the characters, you feel more connected to them and the dolls! 🤭

I didn't like her at all until I saw her in person. Her makeup is beautiful. As far as her clothes go I only like her black dress. Mine is going to become Raven from Teen Titans & I'm pretty excited to pair her with my Sunny turned Starfire.
I bought her because I liked the second outfit as separate pieces. Then I sold the doll to offset the cost. Hopefully, some OOAK artist will make something amazing.
Do Lunas gladiator shoes have buttons on them? Like snaps to unsnap them in the back and snap them back on ? Maybe to help take on an off ? I thought I saw somewhere someone unbutton them

I definitely like her second outfit a lot more, but I feel like I'm more likely to put it on a different doll. And I doubt I'll be putting her first outfit back on her or anyone else. It's just not really my vibe at all. I do really like her as a doll tho :) I've put her in Violet's clothes to match the purple in her eyes 💜 Also there are 3 points on the back of each sandal that you're supposed to pop out to open them and I legit spent like 20+ minutes just getting the bottom point of each sandal open so I could get them off without a break. ;w; I ended up using a pencil to help me push them through but it was still a nightmare! No way a child could open them without breaking them. I think using a little ribbon or something in the back to close them would've been better. Speaking of kids, I wonder if anyone has bought these for their kids and had any issues with the nails being too sharp? As a collector I'm not too bothered and don't mind them being a little sharp because they look really cool, but I was finding myself getting jabbed and scratched quite a bit while working on hairstyling and outfit changes, so I wonder if that might cause any issues for kids or if they just aren't bothered. I preordered the whole SH set but only 3 have arrived so far (the other 2 being Natasha and Shanelle) so Luna is the only grey doll I have so far since the other 2 are white and black. Nicole and Ash should be arriving tomorrow and I'm really excited to get them (they're my fav based on pics and vids so I hope I love them as much in person!) I love luna because of the shiny, latex holo look her clothes have. shes my first ever shadow high/rainbow high doll and i love her outfit to bits, but i hate how her hair is literally sunny's, like just cuz you're twins doesn't mean you need to have the same hair, especially since sunny and luna arent close they have no reason to have the same hair.
I was JUST about to change my Luna's outfit(starting with her shoes) until i saw everyone's warnings about the boots. And now that I actually see Luna stand next to Heather, it made me realize how badly she got the short end of the stick. I was so surprised that it broke that easily. Her bangs looked wonky but I fixed it using boiled water and glue. I love her more after my modification. 🥰🎀

No apologizing! Its okay not to like her! Most ive seen really hate on Natasha, despite her being probably my favorite in the line. Lunas style has a very Gaga-esc vibe to it, spacey and very runway to me. I restyled her hair and made her look a little more like her sister and have been really enjoying Luna, even if she is TECHNICALLY my least favorite as well. As you said, everyone will inevitably have a least favorite, even if you like them all!

I love her. Her grey tone is on point- best of the bunch. I get how you feel about the outfits - they did her dirty there, but for me she is the prettiest. The others are cool and unique but she’s just pretty.
The gladiator sandals unclasp in the back, I don’t think they’re meant to be yanked off like that (although I understand that kids will do that) I know they include instructions with the ribbon shoes but if they didn’t include instructions with the gladiator sandals, they really should’ve.

For me, she is currently in her second outfit with her gladiator shoes. Her first outfit doesn't both me as much but it feels far off compared to the outfits. I kind of wish they would have played up the moon aspect and made her more witchy than space pop princess.
Luna’s probably my favorite. I just love her hair. Her first outfit is my favorite though I’m planning on switching out the shoes for the ones from her second outfit (Though still keeping the socks from the first if possible.).

I don't own any of the Shadow High dolls yet but Luna looks like she would be my favourite from this wave. I thought it would be Nicole but I really - really don't like Nicole's clothes. To be honest, I love Luna's futuristic style, the silver romper is Space chic meets Lady Gaga, for me, and the gladiator boots, combined with the socks, are gorgeous (shame that they are so flimsy though). Also, I find her face really beautiful. I only just started collecting RH so I don't know if the face mold is from Series 1 or newer, she does look really pretty though... Heather has THE BEST outfits in this wave, I think, but there's something about her face that doesn't sit right with me.
I love sunny and Luna in the show so much but I agree. Her hair isn’t accurate to the show which bothers me and I hate her first outfit too tbh. It’s very ugly. 😂 If I buy her, she will have to be on clearance and I definitely will do her hair accurately to sunnys and lunas in the show. Definitely will be gelling the bangs down too. Also, they should make the back of those gladiator shoes come undone for easy to take on and off.

Okay now that I have seen your review on Luna, I am having second thoughts on making her my third shadow high doll out of the fear of destroying her sandals while changing outfits. Also I have seen Ghoulia and the grey werewolf builder dolls used as bases for Homestuck trolls OOAK custom dolls.
The fact that yesterday I bought her and I already ripped out five out of six of those little studs in the back of her sandals is just confusing. I had to glue them back to their place.

Sunny Maddison and Luna Maddison are like the Sailor Moon inspired dolls but I don't see Sailor Moon villain in her but then again I don't watch the show sorry if anyone of you loved the show I just haven't seen any of this but I have seen Toy Chats video of Shadow High review I can see Sailor Moon villain in her kinda because the only villain from Sailor Moon I know and recognize as Queen Barrel and her name is inspired by the cat

I really like them all and almost didn’t get the boy one but at the end I did ;) On this doll I got one with so so bangs but when ever I would go shopping I would go to the toy isle n see if more arrived and when I saw a better one I grabbed her n returned the bad one at home and now Im happy with my collection of Shadow High dolls :) By the way, love love ur nails ;)

I’m going to be honest, I think as a character and as a doll she’s so boring. She’s just Sunny, but toned-down and grayscale. I think they could’ve done something really cool and made a character who is the opposite of Sunny in terms of personality and with a whole new design!

as a character, sunny and luna are nothing alike. sunny is optimistic, while luna is the opposite. sunny is full of energy and a total goofball without a care in the world, meanwhile luna is constantly reminded by her classmates and upperclassmen that she wasn't good enough for rainbow high like the rest of her family. I think luna is like that twin that's treated worse than sunny by her parents and the rest of her family, because she isn't the talented child, like sunny. I mean, sunny didn't even mention her till like season 3- there wasn't a single reference to luna, not even to vi who definitely knows she exists, since sunny and vi have been friends for so long. And if vi didn't realise luna existed, then wtf??? That just builds up my idea that luna was neglected. because of her neglect, luna formed this jealous, snarky and closed off personality, which is nothing like sunny's. its just a theory though but it does explain why luna is a completely different character to sunny.
Also fashionwise is a lot different too. luna is wearing this spacey, retro, holo look that's giving gaga and sunny just wears clothes that are typical to rainbow high dolls.
I felt the same way about all the line before watching the series, but once you watch the series and meet the characters, you feel more connected to them and the dolls! 🤭
As a UI Designer am am amazed by the grayscale. I respect your opinion and opinion of others, but personally I just can't get over the idea.

I didn't like her at all until I saw her in person. Her makeup is beautiful. As far as her clothes go I only like her black dress. Mine is going to become Raven from Teen Titans & I'm pretty excited to pair her with my Sunny turned Starfire.
I bought her because I liked the second outfit as separate pieces. Then I sold the doll to offset the cost. Hopefully, some OOAK artist will make something amazing.
Do Lunas gladiator shoes have buttons on them? Like snaps to unsnap them in the back and snap them back on ? Maybe to help take on an off ? I thought I saw somewhere someone unbutton them

I definitely like her second outfit a lot more, but I feel like I'm more likely to put it on a different doll. And I doubt I'll be putting her first outfit back on her or anyone else. It's just not really my vibe at all. I do really like her as a doll tho :) I've put her in Violet's clothes to match the purple in her eyes 💜
Also there are 3 points on the back of each sandal that you're supposed to pop out to open them and I legit spent like 20+ minutes just getting the bottom point of each sandal open so I could get them off without a break. ;w; I ended up using a pencil to help me push them through but it was still a nightmare! No way a child could open them without breaking them. I think using a little ribbon or something in the back to close them would've been better. Speaking of kids, I wonder if anyone has bought these for their kids and had any issues with the nails being too sharp? As a collector I'm not too bothered and don't mind them being a little sharp because they look really cool, but I was finding myself getting jabbed and scratched quite a bit while working on hairstyling and outfit changes, so I wonder if that might cause any issues for kids or if they just aren't bothered.
I preordered the whole SH set but only 3 have arrived so far (the other 2 being Natasha and Shanelle) so Luna is the only grey doll I have so far since the other 2 are white and black. Nicole and Ash should be arriving tomorrow and I'm really excited to get them (they're my fav based on pics and vids so I hope I love them as much in person!) Heather seems to be lost in the preorder void until June though :')

I love luna because of the shiny, latex holo look her clothes have. shes my first ever shadow high/rainbow high doll and i love her outfit to bits, but i hate how her hair is literally sunny's, like just cuz you're twins doesn't mean you need to have the same hair, especially since sunny and luna arent close they have no reason to have the same hair.

I was JUST about to change my Luna's outfit(starting with her shoes) until i saw everyone's warnings about the boots. And now that I actually see Luna stand next to Heather, it made me realize how badly she got the short end of the stick. The futuristic alien look is cool, and the doll itself is cute, but i can't help but feel like they gave her plain clothes compared to everyone else. She probably would've looked better had she been given a princessey moon goddess type of wardrobe. Something like Sailor moon.

I love this doll but not her clothing or shoes. It’s not my aesthetic at all. I ended up changing her clothes and cutting off the gladiator part of her sandals. It broke on me too! I was so surprised that it broke that easily. Her bangs looked wonky but I fixed it using boiled water and glue. I love her more after my modification. 🥰🎀

i love her but yeah, mine have issues too. the doll itself is perfect but the sheeding, my God!!! she lost chunks of hair and she wasn't even unboxed yet!! also she has less hair compared to other dolls?? like really much less hair, i think the buns take some of it but still. I also got Shanelle and she has A LOT of hair!! the ponytail is as thic as she is!! over all, i love Luna but she has some serious issues, in case y'all really want her.
I like her she’s pretty my problems are the sandals being so fragile I broke one of mine but it’s not that bad and u can’t tell it’s broke. The bangs on mine are uneven so it kinda makes her look funny but she’s better than what other peoples have looked like so I’m not to irritated about it. In my opinion it gives her character. At first I didn’t care for her but now that she’s out of the box I’m inlove. I love her eyes🥺🥹
