Videos like this make me want even more something I've requested in the past: find the cheapest or lowest-rated 4KTV you can get in the UK, then run it through your regular gauntlet of testing. So many of the TVs and projectors you review are for the most discerning videophiles, which makes sense, but I think it would be nice to put in perspective how good modern high-end and mid-range displays are. And I think it would be a fun video regardless. :P

Something odd I was a bit surprised by is that LG may still either be making or have plenty of stock of the NON-EVO panels they are using them in the B series (I think) but they are surprisingly using them in the (new) CS series too.
Which has be a little worried that they might potentially arbitarily use them on the C1's they seem to have been pulling out from heck know where too - I hope they don't go back to using the older panels on new runs of the C1 as lots of people would want the C1 over the C2 or CS let alone the B series because it has not have some feature strip the C1/G1 has had.
Shame really that they came up with a new brand and kinda got it backwards with the CS - but if the current C1's are the same and have the evo panel now - you will at least get a lower energy rating and to be honest that is reason enough to change all the products over to them anyway.
I think LG has a habit of competing with themselves though and really they'd be better off making fewer (better) models in great volume and not wasting time on the A & B series at all. The G series at least justifies itself as a wall hanger.

I've always been curious why the input lag on so many projectors is much higher than tvs. I have 3 different projectors, all DLP, but the very first one I got is actually just fine with gaming. I've never noticed any difference compared to my tv, input lag wise . The other 2 however have very noticeable input lag, even with smooth motion turned off. I've never understood why the first one works just fine, even with 2D to 3D conversion, but the other 2 feels like I'm skating on ice when moving a character.

ARC and eARC uses the same mentality as most networking gear. Think of ARC being a southbound one lane street vs the fast one way northbound multilane highway of the main HDMI signal itself. eARC takes advantage of the unused HDMI over ethernet signals (i think) to increase bandwidth to allow for height based and lossless audio.

The EU ecodesign guidelines were released already in 2019 ... ALL ! 2021 and 2022 tvs are already fulfilling the current limits (valid since March 1st, 2021) !
Starting March 1st, 2023 these efficiency limit will get slightly more demanding ... that's all: the already "in place" requirements will be updated (improved by 16% to 18% depending on panel resolution).
Besides from that ALL manufacturers know these guidelines for many years now ... earlier than the official release in 2019 ... they very well know how they have to react to meet these requirements ! (e.g. LG with the use of "evo" panel at minimum and at an increased rate of using the "EX" panel)

I got my frist 4k tv and I just discovered 4K is 4096x2160 and UHD is 3840x2160. Can you explain the differences and why TV makers lie (oh surprise)?

The distance between me and my tv is 2,5 meters. 55 inch is enough. 😎👍 Greetz from 🇨🇭

No 55 inches is small. Very small. I sit 3.5 meters from my 120 inches screen. That’s immersion.

@@thomasmorel1447 then you need 65 inch. 😁 How about 720p on your 120 screen?

@@SinusPrimus Once again, resolution has nothing to do with display size. It’s to do with FOV (size and distance). Resolution is like quality you get regardless. Huge 360p screen is not any worse than tiny 360p screen, same thing you get, same quality you get.

For 2.5 mtrs. viewing distance 55" is too small ... at least as long as you want to benefit from 4K resolution.
To be able to do so you'll need at least 65" for this distance ... or new, electro-optical eyes ;-)
Nevertheless, reducing the viewing distance to 2.0 mtrs. would also do the trick for 55" ...

@@marcuscole8796 i can clearly see the difference between 4K and FHD and I hate to see Pixels. And I want to reduce Sound reflections from my hifi Stereo speakers. 65 would be to big. Greetz from 🇨🇭

Unfortunately, cheaper projectors just aren’t worth it anymore. £3k will get you a 65” Sony X96K on Black Friday. Maybe when I can afford to spend £20k plus on the latest JVC I’ll consider it. It’s ok if you really must have the biggest screen possible though I suppose.

A $2500 projector is considered affordable?

    • @kiisseli1337
      @kiisseli1337 2 года назад

I guess for movie freaks it is, when $5000 is the usual minimum for real quality. It’s not cheap (or worth it, this projector), but people are clearly ready to pay more, now when these UST projectors are coming mainstream.

Since when has anything been real 4K other than expensive JVC and Sony projectors? Even top Epsons are not. But indeed this projector is totak crap and not worth a review, nothing new or good in it.
