Union Pacific 844 Departs North Platte, NE July 2017

On July 2nd, 2017, the UP Steam crew was found on their last day out on the line with the 2017 Home Plate Special, which traveled to Omaha for the College Baseball World Series. In this video, you'll see the engine as it is prepared to leave North Platte, bound for Cheyenne. The pilot conductor leads the train back out of the North Platte Executive tracks as a parade of freight trains carry on all around. The train then takes to the main line and moves at a brisk pace to the first service stop in Ogallala.
