great video. what kind of a problem were you having to make you change the stator? was your atv spitting and spuddering.or was there something wrong with the idling. thank you
Ok thank. The reason why i ask what was it doing is because another guy has the same atv and year and model and his was spitting and sputtering and not idling right. Anyway thanks for the reply
Great video my battery keep draining on my 2012 honda trx500fe after 2 hour or so I've changed rectifier still the same do you know what could be coursing it to drain regards martin👍
So take the negative battery cable off, and hook your multi meter in between the battery and battery cable and see if you have any amperage draw with the key off. Do not try to start or run anything or you will blow your multimeter fuse.
Well they are fixed, and not adjustable, the flywheel takes up the gap & the pick up coil is triggered by the flywheel, so as long as nothing contacts the flywheel .
No , & I had to clean up the oil, I should of drained it before because I ended up draining & changing the oil & oil filter anyway. It was filthy when it arrived, & looked like it hadn’t been changed in a long time.
Look up tour model in a parts diagram, & that will give you a layout, I just purchased an online service manual, not an owners manual service manual for about 30 bucks and their step-by-step on how to work on your model
Yeah, you have to have a half-inch drive impact or a flywheel holder and a breaker bar that nut is on there pretty good but that is a half inch impact gun that I’m losing that up with , and it is lefty Loose
Sorry I don’t know, I’m a Polaris Technician, I do work on all brands, but not as familiar with that model and I don’t have a manual on that one. You can purchase online service manuals for about 30 bucks. That’s what I do every time I get something different that I don’t have. I just purchased a service manual and they usually walk you through things step-by-step.
Thank you I’m gonna pull my 650 apart and follow the similar steps. Thanks for the video.
Glad it helped

Thank you too!
great video. what kind of a problem were you having to make you change the stator? was your atv spitting and spuddering.or was there something wrong with the idling. thank you
The stator was no longer functioning, and was burnt up(not charging anymore) , it was running fine no other running issues.
Ok thank. The reason why i ask what was it doing is because another guy has the same atv and year and model and his was spitting and sputtering and not idling right. Anyway thanks for the reply

Do you have a significant draw more than .03 amps ? And if you do start pulling fuses until the amperage drops, then look at that circuit for issues
Sorry for late reply been working il after check that over weekend cause locked away but thank you 👍
How far away is your pick up coil to your stator? Should it be almost a finger apart?
Well they are fixed, and not adjustable, the flywheel takes up the gap & the pick up coil is triggered by the flywheel, so as long as nothing contacts the flywheel .
How much of a gap was there when you started hitting it with the mallet
And was it flush bc I can somewhat get my bolt holes to line up and the magnet pull it but it’s not flush and I can’t push it in any more
The cover is probably hung up on the Dowels, one of the dowels could have a little damage, and in order for it to go on, they have to line up evenly.
Did you drain the oil first?
No , & I had to clean up the oil, I should of drained it before because I ended up draining & changing the oil & oil filter anyway. It was filthy when it arrived, & looked like it hadn’t been changed in a long time.
@@allwegottadois Is the stator in the same spot on a 2002 Rubicon 500
@@NoahWheat976 I don’t have a clue, I’m a Polaris technician lol
@@allwegottadois Oh ok

I cannot get the bolt out that you get out at 11:24. What turn is it
