Thank you... Powerful song. It seams like we are born into this world, filled with innocents, an untarnished glimmer of existence. Life isn't just a "walk in the park", things happen, joy, love, courage, pain, suffering, etc… We grow up holding on to a thread wishing it was a rope, filled with hopes and ambitions that very rarely come to fruition; experiences that shape our worldview and become our expression. Our innermost being cries out for justice as the dawn of reality settles in. Over time we have a choice, to except the beauty of imperfection and love for what it's worth, to chose our reactions to such a complex system with wisdom and discernment (never easy) or to turn our back on it all... Thank you for letting your creativity be a reflection, like a crack in the wall, peering into the deepest areas of the abstract. Thank you...
"Power isn’t control at all - power is strength, and giving that strength to others. A leader isn’t someone who forces others to make him stronger; a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others that they may have the strength to stand on their own.” ― Beth Revis
Wackrapsatire Yeh that was my reaction to the dribble you posted in response to my comment too?...so what?...you think people can't take what I posted and go and seek out more information for themselves...go away and complain about something else to make yourself seem better....pathetic fuck.
This is so beautiful. Moby, this is one of your best songs ever. And easily one of the best on the album, along side Saints and A Case for Shame. Thank you for blessing my ears, and making my day, and my life, wonderful. Thanks Moby!
Me too, I've been a huge fan since Play, Moby always makes me come back because of his music, sometimes hauntingly beautiful, touches me in a way no other can.
I can't agree with you more. Moby is an AMAZING musician. He's a bit dark...which touches my emotion. He's ethereal, which also touches my emotion. For God's sake, he intertwines every emotion from deep depression and pulls the strings and vocals out just to slap you in the face! LOVE his quality....I've cried to his music many times....EXCELLENT STUFF!!!!
It saddens me that people do not buy full albums anymore. What's more disconcerting is that this is the final track on the album that Moby doesn't "...really expect many people will hear it." This is an amazing track, definitely worthy of being on the album and heard by everyone. Thank you Moby, another masterpiece.
This is a quintessential Moby album.....thank goodness actually.....I have grown up listening to Moby and he has some pivotal songs - his humble attitude and genuine love for music shines like a beacon! I will really appreciate this album, and I hope Moby is pleased with himself. He should be. Bravo Mr Moby.
[Verse 1] We started like children Lost in the building by the wall Hope lost to fear And nothing was clear when lost it all [Chorus] This is how, how we tried This is where, where it died This is how, how we cried Like the dogs left outside [Verse 2] We were so cautious Guarding the lock-sets viciously I’m never breathing Tender like ribbons obviously [Chorus] This is how, how we tried This is where, where it died This is how, how we cried Like the dogs left outside [Verse 3] I am too shy to cry You gave her one kind to provoke Even with balance Losing the hope with you again [Chorus] This is how, how we tried This is where, where it died This is how, how we cried Like the dogs left outside [Verse 4] His words are like sharp knives Reading on my rights every time Crying to our son I was just so wrong every time [Chorus] This is how, how we tried This is where, where it died This is how, how we cried Like the dogs left outside
These are the only lyrics I can find online but some lines don't match up at all with I what I hear. Especially in the 3rd verse. I don't hear the word "provoke" at all. It sounds to me like he says "you did the work and took the blame". Then it sounds to me like he says "losing the hope what did I gain" not "with you again" Also in the final verse I don't hear "reading in my rights everytime". It sounds to me like "ruining our lies everytime" or maybe "ruining our lives". Anyone else find these lyrics inaccurate?
@@joshuaWEC you are right. I believe the second verse is also wrong : it says sth like "cutting our losses viciously " and "tender like ribbons by the sea"
I couldn't agree more, and read that same comment Moby made about the song. I bought the whole album and after many listens, this is the best song on the album. Well done Moby, looking forward to eventually hearing the other 75 songs you passed over.
Moby, why i like so much your music is that you let the imaginary world come to life. You are just amazing. When i create my paintings,i listen your music. My abstract world come to life with it.Ty my friend.:)

Moby, can we hang out so I can just compliment you on how well put together this album is? It isn't just the music it's the composition, track order and the emotion you've managed to capture in fleeting moments that speak to everyone. I'm in Austin, Texas, next time you're in town, let me know. We can geek out on Eric B. & Rakim, Public Enemey and Nick Drake.

Moby don't do no bad music, and never repeats himself -- yet it's always "Moby" simply by virtue of the fact that it's pure genius. That name is synonymous with musical, lyrical, and production inspiration. Nothing else like him.
I couldn’t explain why but this song reminds me of my art school and my favorite bar that got closed down a long time ago I basically grew up in that bar and I got my music taste from there It was great- Those two were and still are the best times of my life
When the music historians Call the Roll Up Yonder, Moby will be the pre-eminent songwriter, composer, producer, engineer and "sound sculptor" of at least the first quarter of the 21st century, and rate things are going, the first half of it as well. And, collaborationist. His ability to "sense the best match" of vocalists for his songs is borders on psychic. Ain't nobody else like him. Won't anybody else ever be.
Some people will be buying isolated songs. It's their loss. I heard the stream, missed the Fonda concert (in Europe it was in the middle of the night and there is work in the days) and just bought and downloaded the entire album. Thank you and keep up creating awesome music.
Could Moby do a piece with dolphin sounds in it? Sometimes I think I will never see a dolphin in the Pacific again after Fukushima Daichi. So few things are as pretty as hearing a dolphin sing.
Hi John, we bought it, the album, the photos... ALL is so... just necessary to feel the 'whole art' of what he creates... I do this with all my favorit artists
I have followed Moby since i heard him play GO on TOTP back in the early 90's, i listen to every track released on B-sides or Cd Singles/albums over the years i have found quite a few great tunes that no one would normally listen to ....one of these being Every One Of My Problems...starts of gentle then lets rip awesome tune, one of all time favourite's as to be Move (Disco Threat Mix) another awesome tune, i guess at the end of the day it all depends on how much you follow this great artist.
I can't seriously believe what Moby wrote in the description on this video, it really sickens me but I suppose it's actually somewhat true. But I'm proud to say I was decided to buy every damn album from Moby since I first heard him and it will continue til' he can't produce music anymore. Shush Moby, there are more people than you think who will buy your album and listen every single second of it with immense pleasure.

Der Song ist so passend zum Abspann von dogs of Berlin! Alle Protagonisten nochmal in Zusammenfassung…; „Gewinner und Verlierer“…
[Verse 1]
We started like children
Lost in the building by the wall
Hope lost to fear
And nothing was clear when lost it all
[Chorus]
This is how, how we tried
This is where, where it died
This is how, how we cried
Like the dogs left outside
[Verse 2]
We were so cautious
Guarding the lock-sets viciously
I’m never breathing
Tender like ribbons obviously
[Chorus]
This is how, how we tried
This is where, where it died
This is how, how we cried
Like the dogs left outside
[Verse 3]
I am too shy to cry
You gave her one kind to provoke
Even with balance
Losing the hope with you again
[Chorus]
This is how, how we tried
This is where, where it died
This is how, how we cried
Like the dogs left outside
[Verse 4]
His words are like sharp knives
Reading on my rights every time
Crying to our son
I was just so wrong every time
[Chorus]
This is how, how we tried
This is where, where it died
This is how, how we cried
Like the dogs left outside
