Matt: "Kids can't make life altering decisions."
Also Matt: "Yeah that child can get pregnant, she's married."
You forget the subtext (to me) concerning the married teen.
Walsh going full Muslim/Mormon so he can have four teenage brides is definitely in some alternate universe
@@LMYS5697 If either of those religions allowed alcohol he'd be all over them. As soon as he finds a religion that allows child polygamy, unchecked domestic abuse, AND unchecked alcohol abuse he will have found his nirvana.
@@tjenadonn6158I can’t even argue with you he’d probably would be all over that kind of religion and promote it to every corner on earth. These are scary times for kids…
@@dracosol4415 if he was smart he would have made the argument that teenager was a category largely originating out of capitalism, and previous to this most children, upon entering the teen years, were considered a kind of young adult.
That's kind of what he's trying to get at I think here.
@@LMYS5697 unfortunately he never catches himself to actually apply that reasoning. That’s the main thing that gets me about his talking points on the topic. There are clear ways of answering his reasoning on why young teen marriages were accepted back then but he instead retorts to “it happened back then” and rarely nothing else. I don’t know how on earth people can wrap their heads around the guy
So, basically, minors can be baby factories, but not autonomous beings. Got it.
Well, to be fair, kids can't be trannies or gay, unless taught they can be by others who are not their parents, which auto-sexualizes and perverts natural processes, since they are not autonomous beings. Just a clump of cells, amirite?
Nothing we didn't know about Matty boy already.

Saying he’s against child pregnancy doesn’t really answer the question. The problem is that if a minor does get pregnant, Walsh would want them to continue the pregnancy, therefore altering their body and life forever. But he would deny those same minors from receiving gender affirming care. Either he doesn’t see the hypocrisy, or he doesn’t care.
Yeah it’s a “if a child gets pregnant, what do you propose to do”
“Well I’m against child pregnancies in the first place” doesn’t answer the question, at best it deflects the question into “good looking blanket statement that would make me look good in any given context”
He doesn't care.
@@Ynwell_theslaaneshi I'm surprised he didn't ask Shark "What is a woman?". That's his go-to mic drop, or so he thinks, when the interlocutor makes a good point. He's not as smart as he's convinced himself.
Most child pregnancies are the result of rape. Marital rape especially. Back in 1820, old men were still marrying 12 year old girls. Shit thats happening now what am i talking about? Parents should NOT be able to consent to a child being married because a child SHOULD NEVER BE MARRIED!!
@@donnamurphy8551 oh right, he didn’t do this one.
There he’d probably get some more claps, but I guess he was too stunned by how the question made him fumble, and what that last question really was.
Like (I’m going back to that one) that clip where the “interviewer” asks him about the scientific veracity of the bible, and he still takes a good 5-10 seconds before remembering he has this one bit that can save him.
There’s also the fact shark came in by saying he’s a viewer of the channel, so maybe he’d think the question would be pointless.
Why didn’t he just start with “I’ve changed my opinion since then, and I now believe children shouldn’t get pregnant,” instead of doin a whole buncha yappin💀
Edit: y’all, I know he hasn’t really changed his mind lol. As evidenced by the clip, his answer was just gonna be a lie anyways. I’m just pointing out the fact that he coulda just started out with the answer he gave at the end and spared the audience all the yammering.
I hope it's not because he still believes it, because that would be really embarrassing.
His opinion hasn't actually changed, though -- he's just not used to be challenged and called on it!
Because it isn’t what he said.
He deflected into “I just looked at history”, as a mean of saying he isn’t promoting this lifestyle, he’s just bringing this fact up. He carefully only says he’s against child pregnancies, when asked about what to do when a child is pregnant.
@@Gestersmek it’s embarrassing either way because he spent like 3 minutes dodging the question when he coulda just gave a simple answer.
Because if Yap Walsh talks enough, his glazers will think he’s super smart.

They arent against groomers. They are for accusing random trans people of crimes or anyone who helps them. Exact quote from Matt Walsh:
"At about 16, you're an adult who is mature and can make decisions - you are that at 16. I don't care what anybody says. And if you're going to tell me it's different, well, then how come for the first 10,000 years of human civilization, that's the way it was? It's just recently where all of a sudden we're all r------- until we're 25?"
Notice whenever people confront him about this, he does a motte and bailey where he argues that he wasn't making a prescriptive statement (that he personally believes they are adults at 16), but rather a more defensible descriptive statement (that historically that's how people viewed it). He doesn't actually contend with the contradiction and he lies about his opinion on this because he is fully aware that if he said the exact same quote in front of this audience they would know he's a pedo. He sprinkles in all the rambling about how it's a Media Matters hitpiece so he can trail off and circumvent having to answer for this.
Hope this becomes a top rated comment so everyone can read it in the comments
When I look back at me at 16, there is no possible universe where I would be ready for marriage.
It's also not even historically accurate. Childbearing age was 19-21 and it was discouraged to have children younger because the maternal mortality rates were much higher at younger ages because your hips don't reach the correct width to give birth until your late teens, or early twenties. Certainly not at 16 or below. The only people marrying at young ages were the ones doing it for power and financial consolidation rather than reproduction. Even today, there is no country on the planet where the median age for marriage, let alone child bearing is lower than 18.
He and his fans are pedophiles.
Matt Walsh: The definition of a woman is pretty simple, it's an adult human female
Also Matt Walsh: Can't even define adult
Shark rolled up and confirmed that Matt Walsh thinks children that are married are ok to have children

@@skyandthemoonSo you don’t acknowledge the historical reality of much shorter lifespans and completely different cultures having the capacity to develop what are effectively adults in those particular social contexts at different ages than our specific modern society?
That isn’t what Matt said, and neither is your second comment the point that the guy asking the question was coming from. That actually would have been a much stronger one to try to make, though. He should have asked that question instead. I’d be interested in hearing Matt’s response to that.
@ninjagamer1359 bro if you like deepthroating Matt Walsh and looking at children why are you going out of your way to find a shark video. Are you that upset that people are calling Matt Walsh out for what he is? A predator? Even if the comments were 10 years ago-he never denounced or changed his mind. Shark literally asked if his thoughts ever changed his thoughts and he said that it was only that he wouldn't want them to get pregnant. Not whether or not he thinks they should get supportive care such as abortion, plan b or anything like that. Or that you know-they shouldn't even be engaging in that behavior so young regardless. He also still believes that indoctrinating your children and telling them that Trans people are weird and icky is acceptable. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to read between the lines a little.

That's a little dishonest. 1. Walsh clarifies that he did not and does not encourage 16-year-olds to get pregnant. What he said 11 years ago was a discussion about history. 2. He continued to clarify that he is consistent on both issues. That's a good thing, right?

And if it's out of context why doesn't he provide the context? Why doesn't anyone else involved in the program step forward and say "no here's the context" He has also been quoted as saying 16 is prime breeding age (even when that's been medically proven to not be true, just because you CAN have a pregnancy doesn't mean your body is ready for it). Two sides to a coin. Forcing a teen to carry out a pregnancy is in the name of saving the unborn and blameless child. With modern medicine, there's usually a good chance both mother and child will survive, but with abortion there's a near 100% chance the baby dies.

He got nervous cuz he realized how bad it made him sound and was thinking about his image instead of being honest about his beliefs. He probably realized toward the end that the best thing to say was that he was against child pregnancy. If he had truly come to a realization that what he said was wrong, that would've been the first thing he would've said. Also, he was wrong about the fact that most ppl were getting married and pregnant at age 13-15 back then, it was only the rich elites and upper class doing that, just like now how we currently see rich and powerful ppl deciding to be pedos. The feeling of being uncomfortable at seeing children get pregnant is instinctual, not societal. A census from 1850 for example said that the average age of marriage was 22.5 for women and 26 for men. The main reason teen pregnancy went up in the 20th century was because 2 major world wars made people want to get started early because they didnt know what could happen. During times of prosperity, it was more common for commoners to start families as adults. When you remove infant mortality from the equation, the average lifespan of a person was up to their 60s. The average lifespan of 30 only comes up as a number when you are adding infant death and child mortality into that statistic. The idea that history classes have been teaching that children having sex was normal until we finally learned to do better is as wrong as some people would claim that Columbus being a hero is wrong I dont know enough about Columbus to say my thoughts on it, but I know that ppl now say that history class has been teaching Columbus incorrectly. Well, history class has also been teaching stuff about marriage culture in western history incorrectly. I dont know why they want people to believe nobody would bat an eye at a 27 year old man trying to marry a 14 year old girl. I speak on western hemisphere history when I say this, idk enough about eastern hemisphere history
Holy shit, it happened. I cannot believe it holy shit
Just call him Ben Gardener, cause hes a shark victim.
I dont think you were ever going to get a straight answer out of that guy or tie him down on what he meant back then and whether he believes it now or not. He said he doesnt believe in child pregnancies, but he clearly wants the culture to shift towards that way of thinking.
He doesnt want kids to figure out whether they have a different gender/identity, and wants women and young girls to be submissive.
They crave power and if they can’t control you they demonize you and pretend you’re not human in their eyes.
Oh he definitely is fine with it, he is totally against abortion. He is fine with them having babies, he just knew he has to answer it that way because Shark nailed him down on calling transgender teenagers children. There’s not other way for Matt Walsh to answer the question, however, he then also goes around talking about how women shouldn’t have the right to choose and he knows in the religious crowds he’s in it’s common for teenage girls to get married off to men. He’s just a liar
Matt contradicted himself. There is no such thing as "extended adolescence" if the prefrontal cortex isn't fully developed until 25. In fact, updates to that research suggest that the prefrontal cortex fully develops in your early 30's. If you are lacking full cognition until then, it is disingenuous to claim that adults are "acting like children" when it may very well be the case that these adults are not fully developed. Far from children, yes, but allowed to sort themselves out, continue to explore their identities, and truly question the narratives of their upbringing. It is a different kind of teen angst but an important part of human development. He says this while also stating the history of young marriages and childbirth without denouncing it in the same sentence, not making it clear that he is against child marriages. At one point he basically says that children these days "act grown" therefore the idea of children conceiving other children and/or adults conceiving children with children should somehow be permissible?
So which one is it Matt? How can you denounce gender-affirming care for minors while justifying teen pregnancy until you are pressured directly to say otherwise? Oh, right! The answer is the same as it always was. You don't care about children or the proper development of teens and adults. You just hate transgender people and want to prevent them from existing at all costs.
Unless he wants to sleep with them, they're kids. That's the rule he's working off.

I really like how respectful shark is, even with someone like matt. He knows the format and doesn't try to take over or force any debate as he respects everyone's time. I feel like the last statement matt gave probably got rid of the tension and thought in the room from the audience but his avoidance to actually fully answer the question as given shows how much matt still seems to have a double standard about it despite trying to make it seem otherwise.
It's because shark is an adult man, he knows exactly what reaction matt would want from him, that's why he only debates college kids, Matt wants an "unhinged" angry and emotional reaction from college kids so he can clip it and say "oh look at this crazy cringe libs" shark already knows what Matt wants.

The most terrifying thing about this is that Matt Walsh has 6 kids. I feel like CPS needs to swing be Matt's house a lot more often because of his foul rhetoric.
I hate how Matt Walsh misrepresents gender affirming care. He says it like doctors are giving out this medical care so freely, but it really isn't. Kids with gender dysphoria have to meet with psychologists, social workers, have talks with medical professionals with their parents over the course of months to years about how they feel to gauge what the best course of action. Most of the time, the treatment is just for those kids to express themselves socially as their preferred gender with no hormone prescriptions or anything, and it usually cures their dysphoria. Kids usually only get prescribed hormones at younger ages if their dysphoria is very bad, and their lives are guaranteed be miserable without it. If they are only questioning if they are trans, they usually go on puberty blockers (which are completely safe 99.99% of the time). This would bide them more time before permanent body alterations from puberty kick in so they can make a better decision when they are older, and then possibly go on hormones near 17. It's a complicated and nuanced process, and the guidelines for it have years of careful research behind them to make sure that the most people who get it receive the happiest and most healthy outcomes possible, while decreasing the chance of regret as much as possible. And because of this, gender affirming care has saved thousands of children and adults from committing suicide.
Their whole idea that there are tons of doctors making huge amounts of money on what they envision is a massive genital mutilation racket is such an insane thing... I guess when he thought MILLIONS were getting their dongs lopped off this might have made some sense.. But we're talking thousands.... Not tens of housands, not hundreds of thousands... thousands....
There's not enough money in that to make a huge organized cockchopping cabal... The dude is FULLY untethered from reality, as he must be to maintain his insane beliefs.

He always loves to say that those creepy comments were reported on from a hit piece and 10 years ago. He never outright denies or claims not to subscribe to them. Walsh definitely likes em young.
I had a similar situation come up while arguing with a Russell Brand fan a few weeks ago. There was a message Brand sent to someone 16 effectively saying he doesn't care if she's 12 he just doesn't want to get in trouble with the law. This guy started harassing me and like 12 other people in Facebook messenger, so I bit the bullet and asked the guy if he would f*ck a 12 year old, relating it to that quote, and he kept giving me long-winded answers. "If I was 30? No." (He's in his 40s or 50s) "If I was 15, absolutely." So I kept pressing him and saying, "would you, right now, at your current age, f*ck a 12 year old, yes or no, single word answer only", and he KEPT DOING the long winded responses and laugh reacting my questions. I eventually cross-referenced with some of the other people he was harassing (we were all posting screenshots of the messages on a post I made), and eventually found another older profile with his full face and name. I saw he had residences in Michigan and Alaska, so I looked him up in the sex offender registry and there he was. I sent him just the mugshot without the black and white bars and asked if it was him, and he said "that guy looks about x years younger than me". X was the exact number of years it had been since the mugshot was taken.
He wouldn't directly lie, but he would say things that deflect from the question or aren't *technically* plain lies, just lies by omission or implication. Really fuckin weird.
@@Syncopiia every conservative accusation is a confession, especially when it's about pedophilia. Great story!
He avoided the question so hard lol, it was "do you still believe what you said 10 years ago?" and he tried to avoid answering it like the plague. I bet saying "no I don't support child pregnancy" was probably the hardest lie he's had to tell since he literally went on a tangent about controlling children's genitals.
Maybe it's because I'm not a weirdo that believes in child marriage so it just comes out more natural to me, but if i was in his situation I would have just lied
“I’m against child pregnancy” Definitely not what this creep was implying 10 years ago
why do conservatives always go "erm actually that's out of context!!" or "i said that years ago!!" or whatever when asked about a shitty take of theirs, but then go on to defend said take tooth and nail? what's the purpose of the deflection? it's gotta be some weird logical fallacy tactic with a name because i see it far too often with these types
It's a motte and bailey tactic. They hold a position that's indefensible as long as they can get away with it, then move to a more defensible one like 'it was taken out of context' (it wasn't) when it's optimal to. Fascists love doing this to confuse their interlocketers and cheat their way into having plausible deniability for saying fucked up things. Why is it in a state where it's legal for an adult to marry a 12 year old, a 12 year old can't determine what gender they are? Someone please explain that to me.
To conservatives, children exist to be controlled and groomed. Keep them in oppressive gender roles and lock them into marriage and pregnancy before they can question it. They have to enforce the "natural" way of doing things each generation (and also a lot of them are just p*dos)

Gender affirming care is the most effective method we have to treating transgender people, including children. Gender affirming care greatly improves trans people’s quality of life.
People like Matt Walsh are trying to make it ideological. They frame it as an ideological opposition to children altering their bodies, even when recommended by a doctor, desired by the patient, and approved by the parent. This is a not a gotcha moment for anyone. Even if you disagree with Walsh, he’s holding a logical position.
1. In the past, maturity was expected at a younger age.
2. Today, maturity is expected to develop later and later.
