    I have just finished binge watching your entire 300 odd vlogs....
    You are the definition of inspiration...
    You never seem dulled by the potential of disappointment, which I'm sure you've had..
    Your liking for DIY, and your ongoing willingness to learn is unparalleled!...
    Your eagerness to teach as well is unsurpassed.
    You will have a great boat at the end...!...
    Keep up the good work,....!
    Is it Sunday yet???....I'm already on withdrawal!!...
    ..and I think Scottish rain is worse than Danish!...maybe why it was a damp boat?...🤔🤔
    Cheers !....and if you are ever going through the Caledonian canal, give a shout...I'll get you a pint!...Ali..

    Whew! Fairing is done (except for a few pin holes) and fairly early considering the need for fair weather to complete the task. I agree with those below that "Rediculously Spiffy" and "It's time to get itchy" would make great slogans for t-shirts and sweatshirts. Great work Mads. My best to Ava. Take care and stay well.

    DuraLac is a pretty amazing compound. I recently did a full re-rig on a 52ft ketch that was built in the early 70's. There were several fasteners in the Mizzen Mast hardware I had to remove so I could repair the spreaders, they came out with no fuss and you could see the yellow compound still in the threads. Most of it seemed to have worn away but it really did its job where it counted it the finest nooks of the threads. I doubt they had ever been removed since the rig was assembled.

  • @dinsdalepiranah8759
    @dinsdalepiranah8759 4 года назад

    Be aware that Duralac can separate in the tube during longer-term storage. You have to massage the tube or even find something skinny to stir it in the tube. As well, really clean the thread on the tube because once that stuff dries it's a strong glue - I keep mine in an air-tight jar to try to stop the glueness from happening... with mixed results.

I just wanted to say thanks for the great channel when I watch other boat repair channels and see them do fiberglass or other work I just cringe and think 'no way Mad would accept that!' so please continue with the minutia of why this and why that, its what makes your channel so great. I know you're in a hurry to splash though so do what you got to do but JMHO don't forget why we all love your channel so much - you represent the amount of effort it takes well and have the attention to detail we all admire !
