This song..is something.. A peice of art in my opinion. Im sure it inspires many things for many people. Many of those things including whiskey and wine. Possibly rum... probably definately beer.
@@landanmain6472 YES! I lived in what I called "the north wing" just above the kitchen. We had a large beam above my room that said "no gods. no masters." If you youtube "Eliquate: the 90's" you will get a nice tour of the place haha. (Also my old band.)
These guys played up here in Alaska twice, and I love them for it. I was supposed to help them get a venue in Fairbanks, but I failed. Luckily someone else picked up the slack. The washtub bass player is the coolest, most down-to-earth kid I've ever met. Between each song, he just sat and drank with me and my friend, talking about stupid shit. Thanks, Raum, for (apparently) being the only "Folk-punk" band (you know what I mean) to play in Alaska... twice, even.
I had the privilege of seeing these musicians. if you don't like it, don't listen instead of complaining or make your own music. That is what punk was about. Freedom through speech
This song reminds me of a time a few years back, when I put on corpse paint with a few friends, listened to this song (as well as some Manowar, hahaha) and played the Kings drinking game with a set of beer soaked cards and drank whiskey and wine. An old roommate walked in, and we all screamed his name and called for him to join us. He immediately left the room and came back a moment later and poured fake blood on all of us. We proceeded to scream the lyrics, and that was a grand ol' time.
I fill my mouth up with air, honey in the hair, Honey in the hair, honey in the hair I fill my life up with time, asleep in the vines, whiskey and wine Whiskey and wine Who makes the wind blow, I don't care, my eyes roll back in my head Who makes the wind blow, I don't care, my eyes roll back in my head I'm just walking in circles I see the lines in chalk on the ground I'm just walking in circles I see the lines in chalk on the ground I fill my mouth up with air, honey in the hair, Honey in the hair, honey in the hair I fill my life up with time, asleep in the vines, whiskey and wine Whiskey and wine Who makes the wind blow, I don't care, my eyes roll back in my head Who makes the wind blow, I don't care, my eyes roll back in my head I'm just walking in circles I see the lines in chalk on the ground I'm just walking in circles I see the lines in chalk on the ground One day this will all come down Someday this will all come crashing right down So go on with your life We will bring you down One day this will all come down Someday this will all come crashing right down So go on with your life We will bring you down
Blackbird Raum's new album, available from Silver Sprocket Bicycle Club, is called False Weavers, all the low rent energy, much less of an acquired taste. It is really good.
These guys played at my friends hooka lounge and I could tell they were tripping out on So. Cal punks because they're Gangster and punk mixed together and some of the OG's were making them feel uncomfortable. It was pretty funny, probably had to be there to get this.
@reptiskate Cminor/Eb major. verse- Cminor- Gminor-Fminor-Cminor. Outro- Eb Major-BbMajor-CminorX2. The interlude is cminor to g minor back to cminor (at least those chords are implied by his vocals and accordion
@TheLynchtOwls It's a saw. Yup, the thing you cut wood with. You play the smooth edge with a violin bow and bend the saw blade to get different pitches.
For all the self-righteous "punks": Punk as a genre doesn't follow a specific musical form, it's a creative response to the judgement of society, nostalgia, and the status quo. Whether it be distorted guitars or a musical saw, punk is punk, it manifests itself in a variety of different forms. And hey, at least they're out there making music, doing what they love, instead of trolling a youtube thread.
@wwillwalker93 I see those guys at Seattle folklife every year. :D They're incredible, especially when your standing just a couple feet away from them. The energy's out of this world.
sarah mejicanos Yeah, they were one of my first bands too, right next to Pennywise, NOFX, Rancid, Sublime, Good Riddance, Face to Face and Millencolin. Loved Anti-Flag. Got a signed album and a drumstick from them. They aren't even close to what they used to be though. I'll be more excited to see them if they play their old shit, so I guess we will have to wait and see. Their new music (last few albums) just doesn't do it for me.
sarah mejicanos I loved Die for your Government, A New Kind of Army, Underground Network.. even Mobilize and Terror State were pretty good. I don't even know what the albums after Terror State are called because none of them were worth remembering to me. Just my opinion. I'll give them credit where credit is due though, while their lyrics are a lot more censored than they used to be, at least they more or less have the same message as they did when they started.
Oh, how very impressive fer' you old hipsters to have been the very first crust kids. You must be very proud of yerself, and so wise too to be giving life advice to random strangers y'all have never laid eyes on.
Take it from the Mom of one of the members of this band, it's the saw! Mars is a terrific musician.
Yes.
Tell Mars we say Helllloooooo please Elf . Hope you guys are well during the current insanity of the world.
I love that you commented this is so freaking cute I'm dying.

And freight trains... don't forget the trains
Oh man I remember hearing this when I was 17 years old & living on the road. I'm 31 now. Still love this song, brings back so many memories.
I'd love to know how many times over the last thirteen years I came back to this exact video. Cheers!
That picture at 1:05 was taken at my old house! Long Live the Max House!! (it was more or less an anarchist commune)
That's sick!!
I'm jealous that's fr so cool

So grateful I got to see them live. Small venue, the doll hot. People were going nuts in the pit despite the lack of space.

I fucking love the folk-punk vibe of all the voices !!!!!!

Complaining is freedom of speech. That's why it's called FREEDOM of speech. You know, because of the whole FREEDOM part of it.

Hey just thought y'all would like to know, some of us buskers here in Pittsburgh cover this song. Righteous!!!
just found this song. It's great. I LOVE the hidden message about decadence.
