Change your handling. Increase the steer sensitivity and downforce two points up for each of those. Drift 10-30%. It helps with the over/under-steering. Hope it helps! 👍🏼
Ive played with a wheel in unbound its really difficult against players due to the button for boosting and the understeer. Ive also notice with it in manual the cars have a WAY bigger changes of drifting and spining out randomly. Honestly Nfs Prostreet with a wheel is a better experince.
you can adjust the wheel in the config settings of your wheel and put it to 360 degrees. It fixes the understeer and the game will be a lot more playable!
Hi! Bit of a longtime lurker here, but I just wanted to pop in and say that I actually play on PC with a wheel myself! I use an old Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback wheel with ~240 degrees of rotation, and pass that through two programs named Joystick Gremlin and x360ce, which allow me to trick my computer into thinking the wheel is an Xbox 360 controller ( as well as let me customize the sensitivity curves and so on ). It takes a bit of tweaking but it's definitely serviceable; I actually beat Unbound's campaign using this setup. Haven't tried it in multiplayer but I like to think I'd be competent with it - I can definitely say that it's fun to get the back end out by stomping on the gas pedal and then feathering a bit to keep it going. Something I noticed while tweaking my setup is that it's hard to initiate a drift unless the wheel is close to one lock or another; I fixed this by making the response curve more sensitive in the middle so that the steering axis gets to the "end of travel" faster, so to speak. Having a low arc of rotation definitely helps; my wheel is old so I can't adjust the arc like yours can, but I find that 240 degrees is pretty comfortable; I rarely ever have to turn the wheel beyond 90 degrees unless I'm making a really sharp turn and trying to keep grip instead of drifting. Hope this helps! I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have :]
Maybe reducing the deadzone can help? I noticed it was quite high, which goes along with having to imput way to much rotation. But I don't own the game, so I cannot say for sure. Hope it helps :)
You are correct sir but to be fair...this game just is not meant for wheel. You can use it for lower class races and to just cruise around but i would never try hard races with a wheel on this nfs
You can just adjust the sensitivity on your wheel base and the dampening. That's about all that works because force feed back doesn't work. After U got it perfect it's actually good fun
Heat actually had proper wheel support that i enjoyed a lot, ESPECIALLY with Unite mod handling. Unbound is just using wheel as controller which is obviously very wrong.
Yess since day 1 I tried this and there is literally no wheel support which is stupid literally shouldn’t be to hard to copy and paste those settings for unbound from heat we need wheel support now!!
It's absolutely incredible that Fanatac, a company that sells $10,000 wheels doesn't have game specific profiles to tune to a HAND FULL of racing games each year.
I have only played NFS Unbound on my Logitech G29 wheel and pedal setup and have about 100 hours played so far. Tbh, it was a bit quirky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is extremely satisfying to use, especially for doing mad skids. Could you please try a full wheel play through? I would love to see if you struggled as much as I did in the beginning lol Also, it would be best if you turn your car's individual steering sensitivity up more. That usually helps my steering wheel make much quicker adjustments. Cheers mate, looking forward to full NFS Unbound steering wheel playthrough :)
I think B , A, and some A+ cars could still feel good on the wheel, S and S+ are unrealistically fast in the game so I bet its gonna feel weird either way.
6:37 - I've had THIS EXACT SAME thing happen to me as well, with multiple cars, and it's so annoying! It's like.... Even when you FORCE you car to drift, it just won't do it
Theo, there are a few things you can try and adjust like deadzone, steer sensitivity, etc., things others have written in the comments. But the underlying thing is games like Unbound and FH are just not made for wheels like you said. Even though they have wheel support, the entire physics model is designed around controllers. There are assists you can't turn off even if you turn off all the assists in Forza Horizon's menu, for example. The irony is it's the exact opposite for many sim racers that don't control well on a controller and require a wheel to function properly.
After I got my g27, it's been a tradition to me to play a new games with a wheel. Haven't bought NFS Unbound yet, but I'll give it a go when it has discount on it
I actually ONLY play NFS with the wheel! I play with it on pc though and used to play with a g29. The way I avoided turning the wheel so much was reducing how many degrees it could pass.
Just discovered, not sure if I'm losing my mind, when selecting engines to swap the volume of the music goes up as you get to higher performance engines in the list
*I used to play Need For Speed with a wheel back in the Black Box days (as well as Shift 1 and 2) but with the whole break 2 drift and sliding everywhere gameplay of games from 2015 and onward i didn't want to break my arms so now i play Need For Speed with a controller.*
Hey I'm not trying to contradict you or anyting but. Your talkin about nfs games that played with the wheel. So 🤔I was curious where you playin 2015 on PC with a Mod? Lol cuz 2015 doesn't have wheel support on PS4😏
I'm playing the carreer, going on the third week atm, on my humble Logitec G29 steering wheel, you have to reduce the steering angle to 260 to make it playable, doing both drift and grip builds works fine. also the shifter works but of course there's no clutch.
I’ve played strictly wheel for about a month on unbound offline and online, Logitech G920 build cars for full grip and it’s sweet. Shifter does work aswell.
I only play with a wheel it's unreal I have a thrustmaster set up with the Ferrari will it's insane bro this game is awesome and it is now my new favorite game to play on my SIM rig
@@andrxia7953 Ive learned how to use the wheel to compete, much like any game it takes practice. Also I play alot of Carxdrift and that alone is more frustrating than NFS unbound.
You should start doing some sim racing! All that money spent on ur rig, might as well make use of it. Sure everyone would like to see ur skills behind the wheel
I found that for me 540 degrees was not to bad accross the different car classes but going down to 360 or 420 degrees was even better, might be worth trying out
If I'm not mistaken, but given you have a fanatec wheel, you should be able to create a custom profile which will allow you to change the max degree rotation (again, if I remember correctly, by default fanatec is currently set up as 1080 degrees). But if I'm gonna be honest, I tried this out (90, 180, 240, 360, 720 degrees) and they all just feel terrible. The high degree of rotation just makes turning feel really sluggish and using a lower degree cause the wheel to shake way too much even when going in a straight line. You could increase deadzone and play with the other settings available in the fanatec wheel settings but again, it's not helpful/ reduces responsiveness.
For those who want to try it I suggest using the thrustmaster t80. With the minimal steering angle that comes with the trustmaster t80, it just works with arcade racing games like need for speed
I refunded my game because it didnt recognize my controller in any way , and when it worked it got all the keybinds messed up . lot of people had the same issue. Shame on EA
it sounds to me like there is no wheel support, just whats happening is its emulating the wheel as a controller. theres a lot of signs that point to that.
That was a wheely bad pun. You'll be sure to make your dad proud. On a serious note I'd love to see you do a playthrough of NFS Unbound on hard with your wheely fancy steering wheel.
I don’t use fanatech but I don’t use full 900 degrees in nfs coz it doesn’t really work well but I went to my moza program and set it to 580 degrees u should try it ig

$10k for a steering wheel?!?...Sheesh!!

You only get points for distance you travel not for the drift it's self, that's why it makes no difference if you under or oversteer
