- ** The day after the record breaking snow fall, Mike is out in full force trying to plow out some streets to help the neighbours get to work. Oh, but he quickly realized that work and school was cancelled for most parts of Swift Current and most likely the heavy hit areas of Saskatchewan. I guess you could say it was a "Snow Day"! 🙂😂
** Mike also quickly realized that those sewer lids in the streets are NOT fun to hit with the loader and tractor! 🤦
** Mike also just literally drove all over the city including down town just trying to help out anyone he could find 🙂

Farmers are the best neighbors to have and you can’t change my mind. They will always help you out in a time of need
I remember getting towed for about 4miles after a snow storm to get home, good ole farmer neighbours
One time years ago my son and I were on our way hunting in my good old 69 Bronco and the front hub locked up. As I was checking it a farmer stopped and asked if I was ok. Told him I was and he told me that he would never leave someone by the side of the road. He stayed till I left and followed me for a few miles. I was so grateful for people like him. A week later I got to help someone else who was having truck problems.
Sort of the same thing, but the Amish I know are all heroes. We had a tornado rip through northern Pittsburgh area a few years back, the nearby Amish community literally cleaned up and rebuilt the entire town by hand and wouldn't take any sort of payment. 7 weeks they worked dawn to dust for nothing.
Bryce, which is this city ?

Thanks for helping with the streets! Cool to see me & my partner clearing on your video!
Those rare moments when the work of farmers is appreciated for real.
Drill some holes and attach some training wheels to the side of the bucket. Will keep you a set distance off the ground.
They make skid shoes for buckets
On ya Mike , here in Darwin Australia its 39 deg C....beer weather
My dad was there years ago and said it's like the hottest ever! 🤣
@@mikemitchell2554 yeah this time of year it's called the build up it's hot and humid. It also Cyclone season. We have a name for people who go loopy this time of year it's called Mango Madness😂😂😂. I used to work for Schlumberger as an oil engineer and done some work over your way years ago I'll never forget the cold!
If we got that much snow in western Kentucky, we would be stuck until July. lol
Here in Minnesota and Wisconsin we just plow the majority of the snow off the roads to start with. As long as the snow isn’t piled up the cars can still drive. After most of it is gone plow trucks will try scraping a bit more off and spread sand. Winter is always a fun challenge.
I wonder how cold it must be for Mike to say:"Nope, I'm staying inside."
your one heck of a nice guy with a BIG heart, in winters like these people need to help each other out! If i had a big tractor like that i would do the same thing you did in this video. I own/operate a Lawn Care & Snow Removal Business in Michigan, i don't have big equipment more "home owner" stuff BUT i have tackled my fair share of heavy snows before, as long as it gets the job done right? Try to post more videos like this in the future i love seeing them :)
The funny is that tractors have *draft*, a ratio of their weight that they can pull through the material they are on. Softer material ends up being the same as harder, but when you put a tractor on softer material and try to run a drawbar draft into something harder you don't have anywhere near the force to play with. On soft-pack like that the tractor's draft is limited to the depth of the tread, so if it's trying to pull something buried deeper than the tread of the tractor the object must also be either much lighter or much narrower. That's how you determine how much tractor and tire you need for tillage. The cross section of tread combined with the soil's profile vs the amount of share you're trying to pull. If the draft is bigger than the share you move, if the share is bigger than the draft you don't... but the tires still spin. Its amazing that we spend $200k+ on giant fuel and maintenance hungry machines that literally cannot out-pull a team of horses... given you can't stick a shaft up a horse and get 540 rpm with 180ftlbs of torque.
Wow snow amazing
You are a nice guy. I hope it all comes back to you.
Just came across this video Mike been watching your videos today and that snow was crazy!!! Good thing it’s spring!!! Love your videos!!!! Farm On!!!👍👍
Man I remember this storm. I sure got a lot of funny looks when I drove my lowered car to work that day. Only people driving around were in 4x4 trucks.
Awesome job helping out people.
That was entertaining, snow is a lot more fun when it’s a few thousand kms away!
Good job Mike
Great video Mike that’s a lot of snow ❄️
This this right here is why I live in the south and then I go and drive a truck in freaking Montana during the winter months makes sense don't it.
What a snow storm. I'm the same way here in Virginia, I help when I can pull some one out. But nothing here like you have. Thanks for sharing. God Bless
Thanks John! 🙂
Your a good man Mike ! God bless you
You are a great person "people try to pay me but I don't do it for money, I just do it to help people out" I love it!
Grate work. Helping is in a farmers blood. Keep it up 👍
This video makes me miss Canada even more..
People are so nice, care about each other and have a strong bound through community☺️
This is no comparison to Europe..
Very nice gesture of you to be helping people out of those snowbanks Mike!
Thank you from all the truckers on the road Mike.you are doing a great thing for them and I now they wish you and yours a happy xmas and a happy new year
Man Mike, you keep thanking us for watching your daily lives, but I am afraid to say it, but you earn mad respect with the way you lead your life!
Just do what you do best and that is being Mike!
My hats off to you Mike. Its nice you don't take the money. It will come back around to you someday.
Mike! You ARE A Blessing!! And a real education to me! All my life: Southern California!
I am “EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED” that you don’t have the “Man Holes” programmed into the tractor’s GPS 🤣😂🤣😂🚜🤣🤣🤣😂
Tell me about it! 🤦
@@mikemitchell2554 Glad to see you slept in a little longer this morning and “Recharged Your Battery” so you are rested for the next blizzard
😴😴❄️❄️💨💨💪💪
I'm surprised the manholes are raised like that, here in Virginia they're almost always sunk beneath the top layer of pavement. It's not like we get a ton of snow but I always assumed that was the reason to sink them in.
@@MrMattumbo It could be a very new subdivision and the top coat of asphalt has not been applied yet?
@@birkenstockresouler That's the only case I can think of, around here that happens then once they fix the road a few times the height increases. Still I'd expect that to be done from the start in someplace that far north, if Mike is having trouble in his own neighborhood God help the snowplows with miles of road to clear in a day.
I have been digging out neighbours for years with my trusty Kubota with snow blower on the back and snow blade on the front. and
ad chains all the way around as living in the mountains of BC you need them or you get stuck too. The snow blower is the way to go as you get rid of it and no large snow banks, they learned this years ago in Quebec.
In the netherlands are happy with 5cm of snow here are like meters of snow Keep up the good work Mike
Hello Mike, man I never see snow, today here in Biloela Central Qld Australia it was 40c quite the opposite to your conditions, you fellows will have a white Christmas , we will have a hot Christmas. great work your doing Mike, Merry Christmas & a Happy & Prosperous New Year 2021, Regards Trevor.W.Bacelli. Biloela Qld Australia.
My brother. Your an amazing human. Love ya and I hope you had an amazing Thanksgiving!!!!!!
Thanksgiving was back in October in Canada, ;).
Great video Mike! Reminded me of helping people out back in the 50's and early 60's. Of course we didn't have big tractors like that but did the best we could with what we had.
Thanks for pitching in to keep the streets clear. Huge relief for those having to get out and about.
Ha Mike thanks for the tour really appreciate it. U been a brothers keeper. Keep it up bro
I am a Italian transporter and I congratulate you on the service you do also helping fellow truck drivers 👏👏👏
Outstanding Human Mr. Mitchell...well done Sir.
You are certainly a blessing to many. I believe you enjoy playing in the snow as much as you enjoy dirt.
Great videos Mike..Your an awesome human being....
Hi Mike.. You have a good soul... Thank you for what you did ❤️❤️
That snow storm reminds me of 1989 we had four feet of snow over night
Tip the front of your up a couple inches off the ground and the back of bucket on the ground. It should float over the lids. Also any ridges in the road plus won't tear up unfrozen ground.
Doing good things for people just because fills your soul no need for payment! Awesome work Mike. Its amazing how many peoples lives you affected just by digging them out. Doctors, nurses, popeyes employees, people just wanting to go check on their elderly folks. Elderly folks who just want to get to a safe place! Good on my brother, good on ya! You sir are the richest man on the earth, your wealth, mankind!
This reminds me of Wisconsin only people that come out in the winter are the framers with the tractors
awesome job mike, we need more people like u here in little current ontario
Just a curious question, do you have Finnish background in your family?
Hitting those manhole covers are no joke. Used my jd1025r this past snow fall, maybe 6 inches, just to clear out. Hit two a couple too many times
It’s going to be 43c here at Condobolin NSW Australia harvesting wheat it is to hot and windy to run the headers / conbines . Amazing the differences👍👍
Brother that is so awesome for you to be helping people out, it just looks miserably cold to me. I have never seen snow like that before I’m from Texas and usually only get a skiff of snow. Great videos and channel.
Mike, I enjoyed you video immensely. Great narration. Thanks!
Just love your positivity you guys have, we have so much to learn from you here in France ! 👍
This looks like the right time to test out some snowblower attachments for tractors!
I drove through Speedy Creek about 4 that afternoon - saw a sled stuck in the median. TC was worse right near the AB-SK border than it was there. Nearly summer driving conditions past Med Hat though! Crazy country......
Thanks for sharing
Mike you are a gentleman, Fair play to ya
Great job Mike. Keep being a blessing!
Hi Mike, a very nice job.
When I was contracting we ran a Fendt 926, it was a superb tool. Way ahead of the competition.
Thanks for those storms videos! Awesome
Two manhole covers, one for the storm drainage system, one for the sewer system.
Mike, you are a great neighbor! Looks like the blizzard left quite a mess! You take care!
It's interesting just how slow that tractor turns over but still starts. My insurance man would tell me that I have now insurance coverage as soon as I put a bucket or blade onto the ground on the street.
Mike, You'll be blessed in life for your helping others out. Hope you enjoy the Holiday Season. Stay healthy and safe my friend.
Nice to see you Mike take care. Geoff from UK
Hey Mike it’s Tyler hey you don’t know me but I don’t know you but I do watch your videos and I’m a huge fan and I have commented on your last video in your last video was pretty insane and I am a huge fan of all your videos because you’re extremely honest and I just want to say what a good deed you’re doing and I hope you’re doing well during this time of crisis and I hope you have a great week
Hey Tyler, I really appreciate those kind words 🙂
Have a great day buddy!
Thank you and hope everything goes well
And I hope to see you in the comment section again soon
And I really appreciate you responding back to me so quickly you just made my day
Sorry to bother you but and I really like your tractors I have a farming simulator game on my Nintendo and I’m actually trying to re-create your farm and it’s going pretty well I have $1.8 million on it have a good rest of your day and thank you
Great that you can and do help people! Kudos to you Mike!
He needs a magnet mount for his camera and a head set
You wanna get dizzy damm things are worthless
Hats of to a true gentleman
Being a blessing to someone is a great feeling!😀
Your a good guy I do the same thing in California. Our snow is a little bit wet and heavier. Good job on helping others
Us truckers are always glad for the help, and we know your diesel isn't free and a tow truck can charge hundreds of dollars
Ya we only charge 200 my diesel isn't free either my dude
Nice job Mike. You need to get a hold of yankem ropes, and get you one of those on your tractor for pulling people out. Much better than a chain. Thanks for sharing all of your adventures.
I can just see the bond with mike and the 724 vario.
There is more snow in where ever you live than it has been snow in finland this october and november combined.
The Farmer mentality of giving... Great to see that...
The manhole cover reminded me of a guy that was plowing a K-Mart plaza with a big loader ( used to call them Michigan Loaders), but there was always a competition amongst the two or three loaders who would get one of the few shopping carts left in the open. He hit a manhole close to road speed, he didn’t come through the windshield, but it broke his harness ( seat belt) & knocked him out cold.
You're a good man mike Mitchell 👏
Hello Mike, I live in central Pennsylvania and we have NOT had that much snow in a while. 😃 THANKFULLY! Your neighbors should thank you a lot! Nothing worse with snow up over your butt and thinking you can shovel it!
❤&🙏 🙋
This has probably been my favorite video of yours so far, we need more lol
Nice to see some humanity left in the world you’ve further enforced that your a real nice guy Mike , stay warm stay safe you guys over there
I love watching that stuff!! Mike when they open the boarders you need to take Ash to tug hill N.Y. and rent a couple Snowmobiles it's a blast. Google Tug hill they have sledding yes they take you back up the hill if you want ..all kinds of fun stuff!!
Bonjour Mike tu et un bon samaritain continus avec toute tes vidéos un grand merci
Gurenteed the truck driver walked to Popeyes and the tow operator met him there.
Nope
growing up manitoba tire chains lol dont need 4 wheel drive reminds me pushing snow no cab with good old 4020 woops that dates me 61 still love playing in winter love your video mike those fent combines sure make 630 jd we had look small lol
It is such a blast to watch what you are doing. Always having fun no matter what is going on. I always look forward to seeing what is next.
You should look into a plow hook up for the front of that and you can put shoes on it or you don’t have to worry about the manholes as much or a pusher but you’re a good person Mike for helping out your neighbors even though you don’t have to
Maybe Canadians really are as nice as everyone says. Good job helping people out, Mike! What surprised me was the seeming lack of snow plows, salt trucks, blowers, etc. Don't the municipalities there have snow removal equipment? Around here (Maryland) there's usually an army of trucks out at the first hint of snow.
Mike, hats off to you.
I know the struggle of helping out while i was snow plowing roads here with a tractor or an 6x6
dump truck with 3.2m plow, but it was my job and i had to do my section before 6 in the morning.
I allways drove another round trough my route and helped out what i could, but you cant please them all.
So many new entries on the stuck list 😁
Love your videos, especially your "patter." I would suggest tilting your bucket back a little. You won't plow as deep, but it might slide over the manholes. I use a back blade and for the same reason, I run it backwards. It avoids the danger from most obstacles and still works fairly well.
God bless you, I'm giving you the the blessing of Oklahoma standard. Trying to clear the parking lot so people can get their cars out.
It's really hard to take any form of payment for just doing the "right thing", as well as when it's fun has hell doing it. Great job.
i could watch your videos all day , enjoyed the video thanks mike take care on them roads,
You are literally just a grown up kid with bigger toys playing in the snow. What a gret guy, I hope your neighbors apreciate what you're doing for them. Should be worth at least a BBQ in summer time! Keep up that great mindset!
Hey thanks! 🙂
Enjoyed seeing the different gas stations and restaurants.
😂 2 bob cats lmao mike brought the tank
Good job Mike and Ashtyn (sp)I used to plow snow as a side hustle. I used to live across the highway from a cemetery. They only plowed snow if they had a funeral. It's holiday season, it snowed. Cemetery not plowed. Nice older lady stuck in cemetery and very upset. I get her unstuck and plow cemetery rest of winter no charge. Cemetery yells at me for it. Truth in the saying " no good deed goes unpunished". That doesn't stop me from helping others.
Kids will love that you built them a small snow hill to slide on
Well done Mike! I agree, sometimes helping people and having a thank you is better than money!
Good work Mike. Way to pay it forward.
That tractor light pack!!! goes night to day real quick!
