Hi Tim- New subscriber here. I've been lurking on your videos for a while now and I have to say that I'm liking what I'm seeing. I'm also glad you've had a chance to visit the Northwoods. You're right- it's beautiful in these parts. Now, having just returned home from another trip up there, the mosquitos are next level from all the rain we've had, so use caution if you plan to visit anytime soon.
We heard so much about the skeeters but didn't have too much trouble. We did bring a device that is supposed to keep them away. Maybe it was just late enough in the season? There hadn't been a frost or freeze yet though so maybe we were just lucky. I definitely want to get back! Thanks for checking out the vids!
Man I'm ready to pack up and move to your neck of the woods... Loving it .. Texas is fun but nothing like you got... thank you for putting in the time to do these AMAZING ADVENTURES ❤🔥🔥👍
Hodag was amazing this year! I think we ran into you leaving PB&J's. You had the flatbar Gunnar and one guy in our group had the green Waterford. Hope to see ya next year!
Yeah - I loved it! I had the Gunnar but my buddy was on a green Gorilla Monsoon - I did see that rad green Waterford too though. I was chatting with a guy on a TI Otso on the way out of PB&J's. Hope to meet you next year too!
Awesome. Looked like a great event. I might do races still but not for the competition, only for the event/camaraderie. I just put 2.6" on my Wilde Supertramp this morning and am about to see how it rides. I saw a ST in the video...might have been Jeff's. Thanks for the extra stickers with my badass shirt.
Yeah - the Super Tramp was Jeff's. The Jopy Machines guys had a number of Wildes too but mostly Earth Ships. Thats how I feel about most races there - I'm there for the community - which is why I kinda like these events better - remove the race - keep the community!
Thanks for this. I used to ride logging roads on a trek 800 antelope back in the 90's (between Tomahawk and Rhinelandar) and watching this brought back lots of memories.
Hi Tim, we really enjoy your videos and find ourselves watching them over and over. You ride with such a diverse group of folks and bikes, maybe if the moment presents itself, you could do a secondary video of bike checks and meet the other riders video. Have a great week! Chuck
Thanks! It is something I often think about doing then just end up enjoying my ride and doing the voice-overs. A lot of people do ask about that though and now that the channel has grown I really should. People do like talking about their bikes anyways....
WOW, other than the weather, this looks like the absolutely ideal gathering. The bikes in your videos interest me. It'd be nice if you could mention something about what folks are riding... not a full-blown Dustin review, but a little something, please. ;-) Keep up the very inspirational work!
You noted that the Season was about a month ahead. Just consider that it works that way on the other end of Winter too but lagging. That candle burns on both ends. Good Video.
Really cool video Tim; an effective advertisement for this event. My friends and I are usually busy doing our own thing this time of year, so I haven't made it out yet. I might have to convince them to break from that tradition next year. Kinda weird seeing some of my cycling friends in one of your videos. Supple side down ~~
Some of my favorite rides have been out and away like this. The folks I usually ride with ride asphalt during the summer and gravel/backwoods during the fall and winter. I’m usually on my own when riding out in the sticks (Oklahoma) this time of year, but some of my favorite trips have been solo camping rides, riding from lake to lake.
Man, that looks fun...I have been doing hammock hangs for years, and this looks like a similar vibe. I'll have to look for where events are scheduled and see if I can't get myself to one.
Honestly about 6/10ths of the reason why I'm considering trading the Ghoulbike (my e-mountain bike) for a gravel bike is because of you! The other 4/10ths are that it also makes way more sense to switch because there aren't really any mountains where I live and I don't think there's any mountain bike trails nearby.
Yeah - if you aren't riding really rough stuff probably no reason not to go gravel bike. I do a little mountain biking but don't even own a (modern)mountain bike so.....
i was thinking about doing Barcelona-Nimes from spain to France. and i had some doubts on my capabilities and wasnt even sure about wish bike i should get a hard trail or a Gravel with my small budget. because i need some camping gear aswell. now that i saw this video and what you guys did.i just will grab a hard trail i think put some back and front rack in it and go for it. thank you for the motivation sir.
I loved Nimes! Didn't get to ride at all when we were there though. Heck yeah - glad you are going to go for it! I did make a vid w/ some of my tips for touring: ruclips.net/video/BpYWVu5V6Mk/видео.htmlsi=aOPaXO87RTx3L-Ew
great footage , as usual. I've been seriously looking at getting some land in the UP and building or renovating a cabin. Targeting springtime to visit and canvass. Staying motivated to ride (other than daily commutes/errands) here in CT has been tough with all the smoke in the air. I was going to ride the reservoir loop right up the road from here , which I started to do at night because you can see the lights of the drag racing drug runners enough in advance to just stop, pull off the road and just let them pass. Lots of blind curves also. It's insane , but pretty beautiful . But I think I'll do it in the AM. I finally got the rear wheel for the Moto back from truing, cleaned and tweaked the whole bike , and that absorbed most of my mid afternoon. Cool to see the actual terrain you ride on up there, some areas are sandy, others more gravelly. Did you see a lot of deer? Yoopers are saying there are herds of 30-40 everywhere, and they are big and fat from the videos I've seen. The UP has always been a deer mecca because of all the logging that keeps refreshing the habitat.
Hmmm...I guess I didn't notice the deer situation - we have so many around here they are just normal to me. Are hope was to see some elk or beers - but we didn't see either. Saw some eagles though. It would be awesome to have a spot up there - the northwoods are really neat.
Do you have a video showing how you hold your camera(s) by hand and mounted to the bike. Your videos don't show vibrations while riding. Good video recording techniques
Thanks! I keep planning to make one and I have an old one about my still cameras... But in a nutshell I never mount them - I use a Pro Standard mouth mount and either hold it in my mouth or pan with my hand. Thanks!
Nice of the logging companies to get a tax credit for the public to get access. Wonder if it's state or national forest, cuz that would be an even better deal. Anywho, going to stop grinding my axe.
I feel like it was state land but I am not 100% sure - would have to zoom in the map around Rhinelander, WI. It was nice to because on a Saturday we didn't pass any active equipment & it looks like the majority of the land isn't being actively logged right now anyways.
@@TimFitzwaterFor sure. This event looks really fun and is in some pretty country. The transition, near boreal forest looks really beautiful and peaceful, especially as it's cooling, coming up on fall. Thanks for sharing another trip Tim, the ride videos are really nicely done 🙂
Love this kind of videos, the country side colors, the background voice and sounds
Thanks! A great event like this makes it easier to make a decent vid…
Thanks love your channel it is very interesting and motivating.😎❤️🚴♂️👏👏👏👏👏👏🚴🚴🏽♀️🇨🇦
Cycling for me brings out that inner kid in all of us.
Never stop making the videos, I'm always happy when I get a notification of a new one and I like being happy!
Thanks so much / means a lot. 🥰
Oh man Old Style signs, the U.P. and good ol Midwest folk making me feel home sick ha

Looks amazing, what a great event👍and great to see so many bikes and people on bikes enjoying the trails. Cheers Tim
It was really that rad - had such a good time.
So fun to be around a group of people that just love bikes for bikes sake.
Cheers!

…but what I tell everyone who live somewhere warm - just remember winters can be rough here - and even tougher up there! 🥶
Great event!
Yeah - it was fantastic!
This would be a blast!
Look into it for next year! Follow @bikejerks on Instagram.

I have really enjoyed your narration style in your videos.
Thanks! I love to hear that because I feel a bit self-conscious about it and think, “maybe I should have just played some tunes”. 🥸😎

@@TimFitzwater yes they do , but I also understand that enjoying the ride is why you are there . Cheers
I just learning about alt bike events from your videos. I think I will give them after I get a new rig.
These kind of events are so great - you should.
So pretty! I think I'll try to do this next year!
Definitely worth penciling it in - I know I want to go back!
Wow! What a perfect looking event! Thanks for capturing it for everyone else to see!
Yeah - they really crushed it.
Cheers! Hope to see ya again soon.

Thanks Tim. Looks like a great time.
I miss this type of gathering.
This was a hike for us but totally worth it!
8:59 Top Taco Tip! 😅
🌮
Wow! Awesome video! Wisconsin looks fabulous with late summer early fall colors. I’m definitely putting this ride on my radar for next year! 🎉🥳
You should - it was so rad!
WOW! Awesome ride. Beautiful scenery. Glad you guys had fun.
Thanks! It was a rad weekend!
For real Tim - your videos are extremely motivating to me!
I love to hear that! Seriously! 😎
Sounds perfect.
It was pretty close!
Look's Like a beaut of an event!
Yeah - they nailed it.
Tim you need to make a jam sound track
I've appreciated your films recently, especially since I'm recovering from a torn calf and I've missed the end of summer riding.
Thanks.
The music he finds for his videos is great, too. Hope you recover soon!
@@shawn595 Thanks.
Hopefully you are back at it soon!
Thanks.

Definitely noted. As much as I loved the area I don’t think I could handle even less of a warm season. I just love Fall!

Solo camping/bikepacking is still something I have never done! I do plenty of solo day rides though.
Man, that looks fun...I have been doing hammock hangs for years, and this looks like a similar vibe. I'll have to look for where events are scheduled and see if I can't get myself to one.
A couple coming up like this are Higher Ground in PA & Nutmeg in CT!!
I just emailed Arya to see if there was room from one more in October at this years Nutmeg! :)
