This was a really great presentation of spread triads, especially how to build them. The best I've seen. Thank you!

Excellent mini lesson. Very good explanation of triads, closed/open, and inversions. Thank you so much for sharing. I dig that Waterloo as well. Be well. Cheers!

Adam, Thank you for this! Listening to you navigate open voice chords on that particular instrument suggests what a wonderful collaboration between you and Rhiannon Giddens would be!

I've never played with Rhiannon. That would be wonderful!

Excellent-appreciate you tying this back to well known grips. Thank you! Would love another video showing examples of applications.

Adam, thank you for this fantastic explanation of both spread triads and drop voicings.

While watching this video & listening to you play the spread major triads, I'm imagining dropping the 5th allowing a maj2 harmonic to subtly speak or dropping the 3rd allowing a maj7 harmonic to subtly speak & juicing the chord up for me to want to hear what chord's gonna come next.
If this is the case then that's SUPER COOL

That's a wonderful way to look at it! I don't think that's how the spread-triad concept originally came to be, but yes - it would affect the overtones.

This is a very important topic! And one of the very first to study. Thanks to Mick Goodrick who introduced me to it. Great Adam as always! ❤

This is great I will play around with them I like the sound a lot and maybe some open strings can be played with some of the grips?

Good video. Extending them would be helpful. I’ve felt adding in the 2nd or 6th sounds nice to major arpeggios. Maybe something like that? I dunno haha I’m here to learn 😉😂
